It is just weathered enough to have character without being quite run-down. It is clean, and the dining inside space is sort of timeless. The service counter on the dine-in side has a big busy menu above the window, but there is also a smaller version (tiny print) that you can hold close and make a choice. We both opted for the signature King Louie (single patty, hand formed, smashed), and fries. We also tried the onion rings as an appetizer someone else mentioned in a review. They were the frozen ones and had a real onion under the batter. My one complaint (a me problem) was the fries. They use the fresh potato with skin style. They almost never quite get to that level of crisp that I prefer. In this case they seemed to have pulled them even earlier (perhaps feeling rushed). The burgers were good, not fancy, but clearly made to order (this is not fast food). It's not a long wait, but I expect like many small businesses they run a skeleton crew as often as they can. We only saw the counter lady and the younger woman order runner for the drive ups. We would certainly stop by again if in the area.

The chocolate ice cream with flakes of solid chocolate and pieces of strawberry made my day. I've also enjoyed, chocolate and vanilla twist cones, but the orange sherbet and vanilla is still my favorite. I keep saying, I need to try their burgers, so I'll say it again. I gotta try their burgers. The restaurant has a nostalgic look and feel. The staff is young high school and college students and they're always friendly. I get a ready for pickup notification shortly after and a charge notification from my bank showing payment pending. I show up 4:00 and I'm told they don't have any order for me, I show the email I show the app notification and even the bank notification. Someone from the back comes up to look at the notification on my phone and called the owner about the order. We was creating excuses for why I wasn't getting the cake even after the employee working there see the proof of purchase, I was handed a cell phone and the owner was on the other end. I went back and forth with this guy he tried to make it seem like I was trying to rip them off because they couldn't find the order. I reminded him that multiple employees were telling him that the order was paid for but he was unreasonable so I hung up the phone. Just as I was going to cancel the order it shows up in the system and print a order with payment verification just as he was informed. I praise the girls for trying to make it right for me I appreciate your patience and understanding. Your boss is a power tripping guy who probably treats his employees even worse.
