Every time I visit a Culver's I am excited to see what is new. Since it only happens about 1-2 times a year, I'm relatively glad the menu stays steady. On this particular occasion, my husband went for his first frozen custard with me (usually it's a treat for the kids). We ordered the turtle sundaes, mine without fudge and his as a regular. We went through the drive through to minimalize contact. Well, the person on the speaker was not friendly or concerned with the particulars of our order. She huffed out loud when repeating our order back to us. When we arrived to the window- she said two turtles? I agreed and then she (not wearing gloves) grabbed a spoon off of a counter and stuck it in each cup and passed them out the window. We ordered the two scoops size and the custard was barely half of the lower part of the dish. For $11, it should be an epic experience! No whip cream, like I asked, and well all around a plain experience. I did also have to ask for my receipt and napkins, neither of which was offered. My husband said it was delicious except for the experience of ordering and purchasing- which made him prefer a blizzard at Dairy Queen where they seem happy to prove their promise of delish! I was disappointed with the overall experience and hope they do some customer service training at this location. Overall, Culver's frozen custard is still a favorite of mine. read more

I tried this Culvers out with my girlfriend under hopes that the reviews would be true to the store. They were not. That is why I am here to warn you all this Culvers is one of the worst Culvers I've ever been to first of all I've never had to wait so long in my life granted I worked at Culvers for a year and a half so I know how long everything should take. I end up waiting 20 minutes for something that shouldn't have taken that long. Then I wait to eat my food until I get home because I wanted to enjoy it with a show I like to watch. I get home finish all my food finish my drink after I finished my food, took my last sip and realized I wasn't chewing an ice cube. I was chewing a roach. I called the store in hopes of a full refund. Instead, I received a free food replacement nd a drink refund from the GM DESTINY... keep in mind the Culvers I worked at my manager parish used to call me the N-word so this is not my first problem I've had with Culvers. I do not recommend it to anyone. I think they're over priced for shit food. read more

Culver's is right across from my school, it's a perfect place to stop for a burger and fries at lunch or a shake after a football game. Their food is delicious, cooked well, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience with the food or with the staff. The store itself is always very clean, and the layout and style of the store gives off a beach day vibe. Their menu is pretty large and has a lot of things to choose from. I can see why this place has a loyal following. I must have driven by it dozens of times and it has always been packed, after seeing a few Yelp buddies frequent the joint I figured it was worth a shot. I am not a big fast food burger guy, if I get a burger it tends to be at a sit down joint. I think Culver's is a happy medium. Your burger won't come out in 30 seconds as they make it to order but it will come out in about five minutes. I did the double cheddar and I can't believe I am saying this but next time I think I'll only get one slice of cheese. The sharpness of the cheddar was great but as the food network would say "the burger should have been the star" but the cheese taste was overwhelming along with the butter. The food was hot (also had the cheese curds, I've never like crinkle cut fries) and the vegetables were fresh. The staff was amazingly friendly. Good, flavorful burgers with a buttery note! The hidden gem on the menu is the Fried Cod. I've had it more than once and it's always flaky and mild, perfectly fried. The great set up that they have brings your food to your table after ordering. This gets you out of the way of other customers and to your table much quicker. I've been to Culver's twice so far. The first time I went with their cheeseburger and French fries. The burger was really tasty and juicy on a buttered bun. The fries were crispy and delicious as well. For my second visit I went with the slow cooked pot roast which was pretty much inedible. It was dry and just not very tasty. However to save my meal, I tried their beer battered onion rings which were phenomenal. I'll go back, but for their burgers, fries , and onion rings. Ok - so this place satisfies my custard addiction, which I haven't been able to accomplish since I moved from Kansas. They have flavor of the days which are usually pretty legit, but if you subscribe to their email, they send you a calendar of the flavor of the day for the entire month so you can plan your indulgence. We went to Culver's for lunch today. I ordered a value platter & was pleasantly surprised. The hamburger was quite tasty. It tasted better than most fast food places. The fries were crinkle cut & very hot. I was pleased with them. Finally, I upgraded the soda for $1.40 & received a concrete mixer. It was extremely good & filling. One other note. Culver's food is generally high quality and very tasty. My low rating of this Culver's location is not because of the food. If you do not make any modifications to their menu items, then you can be assured of quality, consistency and a great meal. So, please do not read this thinking that I am criticizing the cuisine. Since this Culver's location in Clearwater, Florida opened earlier this year, my wife and I have frequented it about once a week, and she loves just about everything she has ordered. I have not consistently had a positive experience.My food allergies require that the menu items be modified, so that I can enjoy them. I cannot have dairy items. So, I always ask them not to butter the bun and to omit the cheese. CONSISTENTLY, without fail, my order is prepared improperly. The items will be made as they appear on the menu, with total disregard for my special dietary needs. The receipts always show my order correctly, but the employees who cook the food are careless and do not take the time to read the modifications. As you can guess, it is horrifically annoying. It's one thing, when we are eating at the restaurant. I can complain and they will graciously take the food back to fix it. However, I will then have wait another 10 minutes for it to be remade. On a few occasions, it would be brought out wrong again, only adding more delay to when I will be able to enjoy my lunch; usually as everyone who is with me finishing their meals long before I get to eat. It is different with taking out food. My wife and operate our own business about a mile from the restaurant, and I will take time from my busy schedule to get lunch or dinner for our office. When I order through the drive-thru, I will double and triple check with the order-taker, to make certain that my order is correct. Again, and consistently, when I get back to my office, I am infuriated my part of the order was prepared without any regard to my dietary modifications, which I had verified with the cashier. I have finally given up on being able to enjoy eating Culver's food. I have given them too many chances and complained to the managers, giving them every opportunity to make it right for me. What good is it, if the next time, the food will be prepared improperly? My wife will continue to enjoy her Culver's sourdough patty melt, but in the future, I will enjoy a (non-dairy) meatloaf sandwich at Boston Market. read more
