The skin was crispy, though, a crunchy shield against the blandness of the meat within. I didn't taste any "tang," just salt and the faint chemical tang of whatever they used to deep fry it. But it was food, and it filled the empty space in my stomach. The rice was uninspired, just a pile of starch to soak up the leftover grease. ​I washed it all down with a warm Sprite, the sickly sweet liquid cutting through the salty mess in my mouth. The amount of 'meat' was still generous. Cheese and toppings you didn't gip me on. These issues don't mean jack with out the authentic rolls.
