I have been a Culligan customer for over 17 years in Lompoc, CA and 16 years at our other home in Idaho. A few weeks ago I inquired about the newer system I kept hearing about. The sale person came out and told us about it and we purchased it. Two weeks later it was finally installed. Five days later I came out to the garage to find it flooded from the neck of the tank. After cleaning up I called the Culligan Lompoc, CA office and was told how to shut it off which I already had done. Then told it would be about two weeks before a technician could come out. I live a mile from their office. Apparently this office does not have any techs and so they borrow techs from the Ventura office, meaning if they are available. We are 1 1/2 hours from Ventura! Today the tech was promised to be here between 8 and noon. It is now 1:55pm. No technician. I called the office and they said I'm sorry but you are next. That was at 11:45am. I have been a loyal Lompoc Culligan customer for many years - back when the Cazenave family ran the business with integrity and genuine care for their customers and this community. Their equipment was excellent, and customer service was phenomenal. Unfortunately, since the company changed hands, the experience has completely deteriorated. I've repeatedly requested equipment replacements only to be ignored or given the runaround. We eventually replaced the faulty system ourselves because they simply couldn't follow through. To make matters worse when we asked them to pick up their old equipment, they were rude to my husband and told us we'd still be charged despite their delay, retrieving it . In short, we are paying for their inability to remove non-functioning equipment that caused damage to our home. This is not the Culligan we trusted for years. The new management has failed to uphold the standards that the previous owners set, and it's clear they no longer care about their customers. I purchased a whole home system from this service I guess you would call a company. After a two years I moved and brought my purchased soft water system to my new home. I requested multiple time for a technician to come out and after about a month we got someone out here who told us they were unable to set up the system and that it would not work for the area we work. I have called them multiple times to try and get us a new system, buy back the old system, or install the one we purchased. I spoke with Jessica who told us there is nothing we can do and our system is completely useless to anyone after two years. The system was a little over 7K and they do not want to buy the system back, they do not want to answer any of my phone calls, they are pretty shady from what all of my neighbors say that have to get service from them. I would just love to know how a system that was sold to us as gold, is now completely obsolete and useless to the company who sold it to us. Jessica basically told me my system is garbage and that she would call me back in an hour, it's been days. This place is so absolutely shady and I wouldn't recommend their services, storefront, phone business, or technicians. read more

This is the 2nd time that this company has replaced my water filter with a salt filled tank. And both times I had people coming over for dinner. And all we get from the office is I'll send somebody out in the morning not a I'm sorry or anything. About finished with this service or lack of customer service. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a water delivery system. Every single time I'm supposed to get my water I get the message "Sorry we're looking for a new delivery driver". I've been waiting 9 nine weeks for a water delivery and in that that time they still charged me for water delivery but the driver never showed up. Wish I could give it one star, they make promises and never fill them. read more

I have been a customer of culligan for almost 36 years. I am going to cancel my service from culligan because for the last year my service from culligan has been very inconsistent. culligan sends a text telling me you would be here on certain days and you are no show. We called for service and they came out and put a card on the door saying "sorry we missed you". They didn't even knock on the door. Hubby and I were both home - cars in the driveway. There's no way they "missed us". I tried to call and get an explanation and was put on hold three times in a row. No customer service and shady behavior. read more

I have their portable exchange tank service. Two tanks per month, far more than enough for me alone. I live alone, work full time, not being home much. I run out of soft water several times per year. There consistency is very poor!! I should NEVER run out of soft water for my situation. I am tired of their excuses every year and am switching companies. read more

Everyone is so nice and so helpful at Culligan here in Lompoc! We've actually had a filtration system in our home for 6-7 years at least. We just had our filter changed this last week, and I was again very impressed with the speed, knowledge and friendliness of the service person who came out. I had called as our water was coming out slowly. Not only did they come out the following day (4 months before we are due for a new filter) the technician recommended a replacement every 6 months due to our very hard water. These guys are awful. Three appointments, Three no shows. Not even a phone call of explanation. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

There are better options out there. Worst customer service and I don't even think the softener was ever working. Look elsewhere.

I have no idea what happened to this business. I heard they have new owners and if that is the cause of the changes, I'm glad we discontinued service! First off my family has had R.O. systems since I was a kid through culligan. It was always a pleasure when it was time for them to upgrade our service the system. Service workers were either early and waited outside until they were exactly on time or politely late 10-15 minutes with a courtesy call before hand. Now the service workers are still polite and work quickly, but when asked for a courtesy call to be sure when they were coming the office lady acted like that was a ridiculous request. The gentleman who came to the house called as we asked him to, but still when you have an office that acts as if a courtesy call is over And above, that is mind blowing. Next let's talk about billing... long story short, we paid our bill EVERY MONTH IN FULL we even were sent an email of our transactions going back over a year that shows a payment in full every month, however starting about 4-5 months ago I noticed a new 5$ charge. At first I figured it was a new charge, similar to how they charge 2$ for a paper statement (even though their online system refuses to allow you to sign up and they can't help you with it... scam...). Finally out of curiosity I called to ask about it, it's their late charge. Apparently even though their transaction list proves we made on time, if not early, payments in full, we were either 30-60 days late... Amazingly I found out the problem!!! They seem to only do payment processing once a month!!! For instance we canceled service in early February, I called before our February payment was due so I could pay then in full and be done with them. That same day I drove to the office and dropped off their check. Three weeks later they have not deposited the check and today I get another statement for the same amount I already paid them three weeks ago!!!! Oh with another 5$ late fee!!!!!! Even though I paid it before the February due date!!!!!! At one point our 23$ bill was almost 40$ because the late fees built up to 15$!!!! If it is the new owners who changed their billing, and you go with this company, check your bill every month and stay on top of it! They will not deposit your checks for weeks up to over a month at times and then charge you a fee for them only doing their banking whenever they feel like it!!!!! Extremely upset, like i said grew up with this company in my parents house for decades and almost as long in our house. Always thought culligan was a good company, but not anymore I highly do not recommend this company!!!! Stay away!!! I'm sad to leave, but glad to be rid of the monthly Hassel!!!!!! Too expensive for the services. You are working on Culligan's schedule when it comes to delivery unless you want to give a stranger the code to your garage door. If you miss being home all day long for your Culligan scheduled delivery day, you can have it rescheduled, but be prepared to be waiting around all day. Oh yeah, if you miss a your delivery day and you schedule another day and wait and no one shows up, you still have to pay for the service you never recieved. As far as customer service goes, they suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will not do anything for you. Please use a different company if you can. You will thank me in the long run. read more

Have been with Culligan for four years. Service had been good the first two years but since then has been poor. We are on a weekly tank exchange but often go two weeks or longer. The office staff is polite. but their response is " We are short drivers we will try to get somebody out but can't guarantee it". Often when they do finally show up they deliver a hard tank. I immediately call and they say they are short drivers it will be next week. I have scheduled an appt with Rayne, hopefully they are better! read more

Great customer service! I didn't even have to wait but a day to get it taken care of. I had a problem with my water softener. The technician was very kind and even made suggestions on how to keep it from happening again. read more
