There has been new flooring installed in the last year or so which is good...no more carpet but I still wear socks and shower flops. This hotel needs updating and a good cleaning! The bathrooms are terrible... dirty, moldy, the doors are not cleaned, hinges super rusted, paint peeling, walls cracking. Owner needs to do better. He knows people don't have a choice but if it doesn't get better I'll check out other options in nearby towns and just drive in!

We were checking in at 3 o'clock. Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was filthy, smelled like mold, had a musty odor. Upon inspection, there was everything that was metal was rusted. There was dirt stains on everything, walls, ironing board, comforter, shower, you name it. It was probably the most disgusting place I've ever stayed in. I started taking pictures because I was waiting for this survey to come in so I can show you what we unfortunately had to stay in for four nights because everything was booked where we were staying because of the event that was going on at Graves Mountain. So there was nowhere for us to go. The only thing that was left at the hotel, I believe, was one smoking room and my girlfriend is highly allergic to cigarette smoke. So there were no options. I had killed one roach that I took a picture of and I have all these pictures of the way the room looked for your viewing. We saw other roaches while we were sleeping at night and just tried to ignore it and get whatever rest we possibly could. I have not gone on Google to make a review of this hotel, hoping that you will do the right thing when you see these pictures and read the experience, the horrific, horrible experience we had. And there was nothing we could do. The only thing we could do was possibly sleep in the car. I never imagined that me and my girlfriend would have to deal with this. And yeah, it was that bad, as you'll be able to see in these photographs.

The staff was friendly at check in and really took care of all the extended family visiting for a funeral. The lobby is bright and welcoming, the bar and restaurant was neatly kept and open, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious and updated. I've been to big brand hotels that weren't as updated! The menu and quality of food was exceptional! From a home cooked hot breakfast to the varied dinner menu. Everything that was available was delicious! My only complaint is that the serving staff in the diner, with one shining and amazing exception, didn't seem to be happy doing what they do and were either uninterested in serving us or unaware of what was on their menu. I wish I could recall her name, but my inlaws basically adopted her by the end of our first night there.

Overall, very nice, need to address the fruit but otherwise a very good experience. Will return when in town. I'm

There's the main house (which I honestly don't know if there are guest rooms in the main house, but I would think so) and then there are additional rooms around the back. I stayed in one of the rooms out back. The room was on the ground floor and was spacious and beautifully appointed in period appropriate furnishings. The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The inn is conveniently located to eateries etc. For my solo traveling girlies: + I don't believe the Inn is staffed all night. I was checking in around 5:30pm and the Innkeeper texted me to let me know they had a meeting and wouldn't be there upon arrival. They sent me instructions for how to do a self-check in and gain access to my room. My car was the only car in the parking lot all night. I didn't see anyone else--I believe I was the only one at the inn that night. + My room was accessed from the outside (ie: my room didn't lead to a hallway--it lead to the outdoors). And, there were two doors to access the room (both leading outside). They both did have deadbolts and one had a door chain at the top, +Parking is on site, well lit, and close to entrances +The inn appears to be in a nice area of town I don't know that I'd stay here solo again but would 100% stay with my partner.

Great Old Historic Southern Mansion with a newer addition in the rear of the main home which is in keeping with an old world style feel. High ceilings, Rooms are like a very nice guest room in a good friend's or family's home. Very cozy, nice size room, easy access to main floor rooms from the parking lot. There is a set of stairs (no elevator) to the 2nd floor. Nice courtyard off main floor rooms to sit and relax. Bathrooms have soft, black makeup remover washcloth for us women and makeup remover towelettes plus all needed shower amenities. TV and lights turned on, water bottles included. Just like coming home, much nicer than a hotel. John and Mary are great hosts and very accomodating to our schedule. One of the BEST parts is the awesome included breakfast, made to order eggs, sausage, etc. fresh various bread types, fresh fruits, all set in their main hotel formal dining room with china plates and silverware. Don't worry dress is casual in this room :) The price is AWESOME for all that is included. You cannot beat it. Easy access to expressways. Could not ask for more. We will definately return when we head back down south toward the beach area. We stayed at Lookaway Inn coming and going from our trip to Hilton Head. A nice halfway point for us to relax. They have also built a very nice event venue building on the property. There was a wedding right before we arrived and more wedding events planned.

I must say overall my experience here was positive but could have been better. The front desk staff was outstanding. They were courteous and accommodating. Gave a lot of helpful tips of navigating the city and good places to eat. I even had an accident while checking out and the front desk staff jumped into action to help be gather all my things that scatter all over the lobby. Let's start with the location of the Home2. It's centrally located to lots of restaurants and shopping and about a 10-15 minute drive to Augustus depend on where you are going. There is a lot of construction in the area and a hotel being built right next door do there is a lot of heavy machinery present but I was nuanced by any of the noise so that's a plus. The room was spacious and modern and semi clean. And I only say semi because the shower wasn't really that clean. There was some leftover hair in the shower from a previous guest. I did not love that at all. But luckily I only trust my cleaning and travel with cleaning supplies. The bed was hard, like park bench. LAWDDD if these hotel chains don't believe we care about the comfort of our beds, they are WRONGGG. I couldn't get comfortable to save my life and I was there for 4 whole days. The AC unit was spotty i.e. worked when it damn well pleased and I wasn't going to tell it anything different but it wasn't the quietest thing when it did decide to work. And you can hear the people walking above you, similar to living in apartment and you hear your neighbors walking about all day and night. I loved the tiny kitchen it was so cute. That area was spotless. Parking lot is too small for such a large hotel. And they have a large number of guest due to the heavy construction in the area.

This year the few standouts were Marc at Amore Del Lago for the after-hours s'mores hook-up and Euvon (Amore Del Lago and the Speakeasy, she had a long shift! ) for walking me ALL over the hotel when I was lost. The view is stunning and the food is high quality. The rooms are nice, but could use a few more elegant touches, though that may seem out of all place with the camp-like atmosphere. The parking is valet only and is included in the mandatory report fee so be prepared for that. The grounds are immaculate and this place is definitely in a bubble. We used the pickleball courts and the spa. The pickleball courts were 3 miles away, but there is a shuttle you can take that is on-demand. You can also use the bikes that are included in the resort fee, but it is a hilly ride. The courts themselves are nice, and not owned by the Ritz, so they take your room number to charge the Ritz. The spa was really nice and guests are allowed to use the amenities without charge. There was a long line though so they took my name down. I got the tour in the meantime and found that it was pretty empty. The facilities are nice and clean, including a cold plunge, family indoor pool, hot tub, steam shower, and sauna. The room itself was well appointed and classy. The toiletries were abundant and the bathroom spacious, with a tub and free standing shower. The bed was soft and there was a small couch and desk. The TV was large, but had limited channels. The turndown service with small chocolates was a nice touch and I was blown away that they saw my mouse on the desk and put a Ritz mousepad underneath it for me. Since we were there for a retreat, we ate some meals in the tent, which was more than a tent. We had a buffet breakfast at Gaby's on the Lake with open seating and were able to grab a table next to the window for the fabulous views. Lastly, our sessions were in the Pavilion, which was a really nice facilities with comfy chairs, but only one unisex bathroom.
