I hate to hear that they have closed! They were so accommodating and it was a great space.

There has been new flooring installed in the last year or so which is good...no more carpet but I still wear socks and shower flops. This hotel needs updating and a good cleaning! The bathrooms are terrible... dirty, moldy, the doors are not cleaned, hinges super rusted, paint peeling, walls cracking. Owner needs to do better. He knows people don't have a choice but if it doesn't get better I'll check out other options in nearby towns and just drive in!

We were checking in at 3 o'clock. Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was filthy, smelled like mold, had a musty odor. Upon inspection, there was everything that was metal was rusted. There was dirt stains on everything, walls, ironing board, comforter, shower, you name it. It was probably the most disgusting place I've ever stayed in. I started taking pictures because I was waiting for this survey to come in so I can show you what we unfortunately had to stay in for four nights because everything was booked where we were staying because of the event that was going on at Graves Mountain. So there was nowhere for us to go. The only thing that was left at the hotel, I believe, was one smoking room and my girlfriend is highly allergic to cigarette smoke. So there were no options. I had killed one roach that I took a picture of and I have all these pictures of the way the room looked for your viewing. We saw other roaches while we were sleeping at night and just tried to ignore it and get whatever rest we possibly could. I have not gone on Google to make a review of this hotel, hoping that you will do the right thing when you see these pictures and read the experience, the horrific, horrible experience we had. And there was nothing we could do. The only thing we could do was possibly sleep in the car. I never imagined that me and my girlfriend would have to deal with this. And yeah, it was that bad, as you'll be able to see in these photographs.

I had no intention in writing a review, that is until, well let me explain…read more.... My friend booked us to stay at the Red Land Motel April 2017. She was to marry the love of her life!! My friend, my son (1 years old), and I drove 5 hours to get to our destination at the Red Land. We checked in at approx 6 pm. My sister stayed with her family in room 205 & we stayed in room 206. We unloaded our items and headed out to the rehearsal dinner shortly after arriving. When we got back to the hotel we showered and dressed for bed. My friend wakes me up yelling "get up" at approx 3 am. She tells me to check my bed. I pull back the blankets to find BEDBUGS! Not just one or two, but a bed full of them. We take pictures and capture one of them to take down to the registration desk. The staff would not be available until 8am, so we had to figure out a new plan. We clearly couldn't sleep in a bed full of bugs, so we knock on my sisters door to inform them of our "find". The next morning we report to the staff what we encountered that night. We were told we would get a refund of $160. I wait on this refund for approx two weeks and have to call the motel to inform them that I have yet to be reimbursed. The staff member mentions not having my card number on file due to me using a different card to secure the room. So I then provide him with the correct card number, in hopes of being reimbursed. (I did have the thought of.... if you didn't have the correct card on file, you should have called.... you have that on file RIGHT). I wait for approx another 2-3 weeks and call again... well at this time I then get the excuse that this individual does not deal with refunds and that he will have to talk with the person responsible. (Keep in mind this is the same staff member I have dealt with through this entire experience)!!!!!! It now has been well over two months, still no refund. I give up at this point. I hope that this review saves someone else from a bad experience!!!! There is another hotel right beside the huddle house or the hotel on the square. Choose one of these locations to save you this headache. I hope that $160 meant enough to the Red Land to get a bad review. Enjoy. Keep it. I don't want it back at this point.

The pool was not open at our time of staying, but it was not that big of a deal. The motel is old, maybe 60s, but does have everything to make your stay pleasant. They have cable TV and wireless internet, each room has a rocking chair or two outside to sit on and gab, or just rock, read, whatever you'd like. I had a nice talk with the woman working the front desk, which is nice, as most larger motels and hotels have people who seem wholly uninterested in the people who are staying there. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean, but showed their age, however, its not much more than one would or should expect from a hotel in this price range and small town. I would for sure stay again.

This year the few standouts were Marc at Amore Del Lago for the after-hours s'mores hook-up and Euvon (Amore Del Lago and the Speakeasy, she had a long shift! ) for walking me ALL over the hotel when I was lost. The view is stunning and the food is high quality. The rooms are nice, but could use a few more elegant touches, though that may seem out of all place with the camp-like atmosphere. I didn't take many pictures, but will repurpose the few I took for other reasons.

The parking is valet only and is included in the mandatory report fee so be prepared for that. The grounds are immaculate and this place is definitely in a bubble. We used the pickleball courts and the spa. The pickleball courts were 3 miles away, but there is a shuttle you can take that is on-demand. You can also use the bikes that are included in the resort fee, but it is a hilly ride. The courts themselves are nice, and not owned by the Ritz, so they take your room number to charge the Ritz. The spa was really nice and guests are allowed to use the amenities without charge. There was a long line though so they took my name down. I got the tour in the meantime and found that it was pretty empty. The facilities are nice and clean, including a cold plunge, family indoor pool, hot tub, steam shower, and sauna. The room itself was well appointed and classy. The toiletries were abundant and the bathroom spacious, with a tub and free standing shower. The bed was soft and there was a small couch and desk. The TV was large, but had limited channels. The turndown service with small chocolates was a nice touch and I was blown away that they saw my mouse on the desk and put a Ritz mousepad underneath it for me. Since we were there for a retreat, we ate some meals in the tent, which was more than a tent. We had a buffet breakfast at Gaby's on the Lake with open seating and were able to grab a table next to the window for the fabulous views. Lastly, our sessions were in the Pavilion, which was a really nice facilities with comfy chairs, but only one unisex bathroom.
