One thing you'll love about this campground is EVERYTHING! They have a putt putt course, pioneer home to view, marina close by, pioneer camping, cabins (new Cabins as well), premium camping with electricity, onsite store, boat ramps, picnic areas, group camping, shelters, trails and beautiful lakeside views. They also have old school bathrooms and newer family bathrooms. Other amenities include a playground and baseball court. They used to have swing sets near the bathrooms and a rickety wooden merry-go-round but I'm guessing those met their demise in the 90s. I do hate that there are no photos of those items, as i have found childhood memories of swinging on the swings and being thrown off the merry go round. The camping here is popular, and it's obvious why. They have everything you need and enough space away from the next camp site. We come more for the nostalgia, and I love reminiscing over my childhood. I do recommend that you hit the gas station across the bridge (leaving left out of the park) for wood ... you get more wood for your buck. At least that's what my girlfriend says. If you want a supreme camping experience, this is it!

Great picnic or family spot too! My small kids had no problem making it through. There are multiple spots to access the trails and two playgrounds, bench swings, picnic tables, park benches all along the trail and restrooms. You can take the nature trail and enjoy the shaded hike. The only issue I had is that you can lose the trail near the edge of the park. If you hit the power lines, you've gone too far! Great place!

The boat ramp can get pretty busy on the weekends but there is a nice loop you can do that let's put into the river and then back. There is a rope swing at one point of you don't mind getting in the murky water. It is a peaceful kayak route.

It's pleasant enough, but the modest distance is irritating, particularly in light of the longer greenway trail just north of here on the same creek. The wildlife is abundant here also - I've seen deer, turtles, and various birds here. Since it is a small park, it can be a little busy when the weather is really nice. The trail around the park is perfect to use for 5k training. Drop on in when you need a brief commune with nature!

It is a larger park, taking up a full city block in this mostly residential neighborhood. Open from sunrise to sunset, the park features a lighted basketball court, two lighted tennis courts, a large picnic shelter that has grills and a water fountain, a quarter-mile walking track and a playground. The playground is quite large and is on a sand base. Swing set, climbing frame, monkey bars. All the stuff you need for your toddlers to burn off some energy. There is street parking. I abandoned the trail after a mile and a half because a snake was giving me the evil eye and wouldn't move, but it was a nice quiet forest. The trail passes various campgrounds and roads and the area still feels a bit urban, but for those without the time to go deep into the wilderness it is a nice option reasonably close to Augusta.
