It's beautiful out here. I grew up here and it's so peaceful. I would suggest buying firewood before going in though as it can be cheaper.

All the Georgia state parks are good, but I consider Mistletoe to be among the best. The park is…read morebeautiful and situated on the banks of the Clark's Hill Lake. Campsites are electric with water and spaced nicely so you have some breathing room between campers. Many of the sites are waterfront and quite a few have water access for swimming or boat launches. If you get a site on one of the peninsulas the views are breathtaking. Trails can be found around the park. There are also cabins for rent as well as a primitive group site that can be rented. The registration office carries some basic supplies including wood and ice. There are laundry facilities on site if you are staying longer. Comfort stations with flush toilets and showers are in great shape and kept very clean. If you aren't camping for $5 you can launch a boat from the park or enjoy the public beach area.

My family owns property near this park, so I've been coming here for about 35 years now. Clark's Hill Lake provides the background for scenery (Clark's Hill Lake borders Georgia and South Carolina). Recently did a trip here to celebrate my aunt's late husband. We utilized the Beach House on-site for the presentation. The Beach House has bathrooms, full kitchen, projector screen, tables & chairs and a nice patio area overlooking the lake. It serves as a multi-use venue for weddings, celebrations and gatherings. The Beach House also provides a big swimming area and recreation area. One thing great about this park is that it truly has all amenities for your needs, including: - Camping - Pioneer Camping - Cabin & Log Cabin Rentals ($150/$165 night) - Hiking Trails - Boat Ramp - Kayak/Canoe Rentals - Playgrounds - Full bathrooms complete with showers - Electricity - Multiple pavilions for eating/socializing - On-site Store that has everything for camping (ice, fire logs, bait, souvenirs, snacks, camping supplies, etc) - Grassy areas to play lawn games - Enough roads to walk/run on (about 5 miles) My aunt rented a cabin for my sister and my cousin, and the cabin was clean and comfy. The cabins have 4 beds, fridge, dishwasher, all eating supplies you'll need, towels/wash cloths, fire pit area, lake access, porch with chairs, grill, DirectTV, stove, toaster/coffee maker, etc. They didn't have Wi-Fi, which I thought was really odd. Also, the lake access has a DEEP drop off by the bank. Great if you're leaving a boat anchored there but not convenient for kids swimming. Looking forward to coming back again and camping next time, and highly recommend visiting!

We have camped here twice, once in the fall and this time in late March. Both were unique in their own way with the fall trip taking the cake. On both trips the morning sun greeted us ablaze with colors only to be rivaled by its sunset as the long day closed upon us. Beautiful. Serene. The camping reservations are easy through the SC website and the prices very reasonable. Most sites have a view of the lake and several are right on it. We did notice this time (spring) that several locals booked their family vacation here during spring break. Sadly, several lugged all their crap from home with them: refrigerators, large grills, full-size kitchen ovens, awnings, boats, golf carts, bikes, dogs, and kids. The center of the campground looked like a hillbilly hoedown. People were kind and respectful, but damn, it's camping people! Overall, we like it here and we will return. Got the campfire just a smokin' on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Camp here (just leave your sh*t at home).

No one else was around and the breeze coming off the water was refreshing and cooling. The bottom of the lake was mostly sand. It was clean, quiet and the boys had a blast! Perfect stop in a great place!
