And given the option I'd rather just relax. I don't really exercise because, well frankly, it hurts. I see all these people running on the track or down the street and I have think to myself "why not drive? You get there faster and you can enjoy a delicious latte along the way." That being said, I must tell you that Disc Golf is quickly becoming one my favorite obligatory outdoor activities. Point yourself at the hole (which is large pole with a metal basket and a chain-link cage on top. It's the opposite of a hole, that name should change) and throw your disc. Did you miss? Kay. Walk to you disc and try again. Be sure to talk about the course, the wind variance, the deceptive nature of that poplar tree and how many proverbial points you can earn by taking out geriatrics. How fortunate was I to find out that Greenwood has it's own disc golf course? And where else? On a college campus. The course gets a little confusing if you're not a student and familiar with the campus' layout. It's designed to play in small games, with each section in one part of campus. The courses are very nice though, a good distance with a little bit of challenge to each one. I'd recommend this course for any casual player--it's not too bad to start out on, and if you've been playing for a while and you've got nothing else to do on a sunday afternoon (because hey, you certainly can't go get a drink...) then swing down to lander. Some of the most fun I've had for free.

The course starts out with no direction or signs, but after you get to the lakeside holes it becomes pretty obvious. Honestly though, unless you're extremely accurate on every shot, you can't play all 18 holes. There are a couple that run along side the lake, with baskets literally on peninsulas feet away from the water's edge. I've lost a couple here attempting to play these holes for the sake of completeness. There is a scuba diver that goes into the lake and retrieves these - if you manage to catch him he'll grab your disc for you if he can find it. He'll call your number if it is legibly written on the disc. I believe he also sells them - he's got loads organized by area code, apparently for a name-your-price type of arrangement. Nice guy.

Overall...a decent park that feels squeezed. Better for experienced players…read more Concrete pads and satisfactory signage. The entire length of the course is placed in between a neighborhood road and Lake Olmstead. There is also a paved walking trail that follows the same path as the course. So, accuracy is a must, or else you WILL lose some discs in the drink, or to a car run-over, or hit someone. Care must be taken to watch for walker/runners using the trail. Given those concerns, this course is probably better suited for more seasoned players who know how to control their hyzer. The course features are Lake Olmstead (obviously), a good mix of distance drives, tree hazards, and some interesting elevation challenges. There is a restroom attached to a barbecue pit building, located about halfway through the first 9 holes. But it's not cleaned regularly so beware. There are also very few trash bins along the course, so dispose of any trash before hand. Holes 1 and 2 are on some kind of practice field, so they may actually be unavailable at certain times. Enjoy!

After walking around and scouting out other spots, could not really rule out any spot that I couldn't get in. The only thing bad about camping is the other people. No consideration for others wanting to take advantage of a relaxing weekend. Packing up and pulling out between 4:30-6:00am is beyond me. Anyways. Good place. Bath houses are okay, just bring your shower shoes. Bring your own fire wood too

Campsites are electric with water and spaced nicely so you have some breathing room between campers. Many of the sites are waterfront and quite a few have water access for swimming or boat launches. If you get a site on one of the peninsulas the views are breathtaking. Trails can be found around the park. There are also cabins for rent as well as a primitive group site that can be rented. The registration office carries some basic supplies including wood and ice. There are laundry facilities on site if you are staying longer. Comfort stations with flush toilets and showers are in great shape and kept very clean. If you aren't camping for $5 you can launch a boat from the park or enjoy the public beach area.

My family owns property near this park, so I've been coming here for about 35 years now. Clark's Hill Lake provides the background for scenery (Clark's Hill Lake borders Georgia and South Carolina). Recently did a trip here to celebrate my aunt's late husband. We utilized the Beach House on-site for the presentation. The Beach House has bathrooms, full kitchen, projector screen, tables & chairs and a nice patio area overlooking the lake. It serves as a multi-use venue for weddings, celebrations and gatherings. The Beach House also provides a big swimming area and recreation area. One thing great about this park is that it truly has all amenities for your needs, including: - Camping - Pioneer Camping - Cabin & Log Cabin Rentals ($150/$165 night) - Hiking Trails - Boat Ramp - Kayak/Canoe Rentals - Playgrounds - Full bathrooms complete with showers - Electricity - Multiple pavilions for eating/socializing - On-site Store that has everything for camping (ice, fire logs, bait, souvenirs, snacks, camping supplies, etc) - Grassy areas to play lawn games - Enough roads to walk/run on (about 5 miles) My aunt rented a cabin for my sister and my cousin, and the cabin was clean and comfy. The cabins have 4 beds, fridge, dishwasher, all eating supplies you'll need, towels/wash cloths, fire pit area, lake access, porch with chairs, grill, DirectTV, stove, toaster/coffee maker, etc. They didn't have Wi-Fi, which I thought was really odd. Also, the lake access has a DEEP drop off by the bank. Great if you're leaving a boat anchored there but not convenient for kids swimming. Looking forward to coming back again and camping next time, and highly recommend visiting!
