Bruh. When I bit into a chocolate ball from here with CoCoa dust on it... it was my new favorite treat. I wish I was SO MUCH closer to this place to get it ALWAYS. Next time I'm nearby I'm stoping for that exact treat. I was literally licking the dust falling off into the box it was given in. That pastrie was the best way to make something so bitter so SWEET. It was like a fudge ball covered in cocoa powder I'd buy 2 dozen now that I know that specific taste. It'll be at my wedding for sure (in the future when I get proposed to) and sooner than that for my own enjoyment
Thanks to a Yelp event that I was able to know about a bakery called Culinary Combo privately owned by a mother and daughter - both I should say are extremely gifted bakers/pastry chefs. Treats are individually priced higher than commercially made ones from Costco, Kroger and so on ... but the brownies, lemon bars, rugelach and cookies were made from scratch. They also sell dog treats and have their own version of Dubai bars - filled with chocolate and pistachio combination. Cookies individually priced at $2 and above. Bars starts at $3.95 each slice. For breakfast, freshly bakes bagels and scones are sold, as well as freshly brewed coffee are served hot or cold. There's a table with an assortment of flavored syrup - with self serving pump at your own discretion...not a coffee lover? They also sell tea, hot cocoa and cider. The bakery is at the ground level of a residential and commercial building. It would be hard to miss for the residents especially in the morning...the smell of scones, bagels and freshly brewed coffee makes you want to have continental breakfast there before going to work. There was no music playing in the dining area but the sound of the oven and the scent of baked goods leveled up my mood to a nice day! I was greet by the daughter. She was very pleasant and thoughtful. Made me my iced coffee and packed the bar that I liked in a brown eco friendly container. The coffee was smooth and not acidic to my stomach. The chocolate bar that I had was sweet, soft and delicious. I highly recommend CCB. Just don't get lost on your way :-) it's at Franklin Road. If you see BP gas station and Bigaloria at Northwestern Highway, make a right turn in between and drive straight to Franklin Road. Make a right turn from a children's hospital...drive straight all the way until the dead end and make a left turn to a parking area ... from there you will see a big sign that says Culinary Combo Bakery. From Tuesdays to Fridays - store hours from 730am to 3 pm. On Saturdays, they close early at 12 noon. During Sundays and Mondays - no service. For the coming Easter Sunday or any special occasion, I suggest ordering treat baskets from them.
So this place is kind of hard to find. So you would definitely miss it if you're not familiar. The snacks and staff are pretty cool. I had a few things I liked and a few I personally did not. I personally loved the rice crispy donut. That was actually really unique and fun to eat. I was not a fan of the pretzel. I personally felt it had too many things. The place is also very cozy looking. And the smells, OH YES THE SMELLS. It smells so good you can smell it through the halls and outside. Overall there are more things here I would love to try. I would recommend this woman ran business any day!
This bakery is definitely off the beaten path! I had to get directions from a business in the area to find it! It's well worth finding! There were so many delicious looking treats to choose from. When I walked in, it smelled like chocolate. I appreciate the attention to detail for the decor- not to mention the wide variety of desserts. It's not easy to choose, which means you'll have to visit several times in order to get a nice sampling. They offer excellent customer service. They also have their own parking spaces right outside the door. I'll definitely be back. Don't miss this gem!
What an awesome experience. This cute bakery is a great gem. The service at the counter is absolutely amazing!! They were friendly, warm and very welcoming. While the business is a bit hard to find it is worth the added effort for sure. The spinach turnover is absolutely amazing. The outside is very flaky, soft and buttery. The inside mixture is absolutely perfection. OMG this alone is worth the trip. While there I purchased a leo on bar, a protein bar, a stuffed bagel(wow) and finally a bumpy brownie (just like the cake). Try this business. if you in front of the apartment building drive around to the right to find the business.
The bakery is located in an office building off Franklin and Northwesten Hwy. I parked in the parking structure when I could've drove to the back and parked right in front. So fyi pull to the back of the building, but the guard was nice and more than helpful on directing me where to go. Walking down the hallway I smelled a savory aroma. Opened the door and smelled sweet deliciousness. The bakery is decorated nicely and has a few tables of you want to sit. I especially liked the coffee nook that has cream, sugar, and a nice variety of flavored syrups. There were many options to choose from. I got the pop tart, chocolate dipped pretzel, doughnut shaped fruity pebble and rice krispy treats, and a spinach and cheese on a half bagel. The spinach bagel was soooo good. I'd go back just for that. Service was pleasant and very good with explaining the different items and ingredients.
I love this bakery! Owned and operated by Jessica and her mom, Jodie, this shop is delightful! Such a warm vibe, inviting decor, and delicious treats. I love everything about this place! I purchased a lemon bar and chocolate brownie. The lemon bar is very tasty, and if you love chocolate, the chocolate brownie will wow you. I also enjoyed a biscotti and their iced coffee. Their ice cubes are actually coffee so your coffee won't get watered down! I love the details! This is a place I want to come to sit and relax and drink delicious beverages and snack for a while. It's very comfortable, visually appealing, and provides a variety of seating options. Fun signs and phrases around too. Plenty of free parking right outside. It's located behind an apartment building. From the street, turn in when you see the sign "The Claymoor". Then follow the signs to the bakery all the way down the road, and turn left to go behind the building. Excellent and friendly service, delicious baked goods, and warm ambiance. I will be back!
This is my second time here, kinda hard to find but just keep driving around the building! The two ladies in there were complete sweethearts and I always want to support a women owned business! But sadly they didn't have a single dairy free option! My one and a half year old son very much enjoyed the treats though!
This lovely bakery is a hidden treasure located behind the apartment complex. This is such a lovely bakery owned by a mother and daughter duo. The mom has been in the bakery business for 30 years. She started out with her husband, who passed away from cancer. Shortly after, her daughter decided to join her. They opened up their first store front October of 2020. There were so many unique options to choose from such as quiche, rugelach, bars, pretzels, cookies and more. My husband and I purchased the moose tracks bar and brownie. We also got apple shaped sugar cookies. The moose tracks bar is sorta like a brookie with chocolate drizzle and reeses cups on top. It was super delicious. My husband let me try his brownie. It was super rich and delicious. Also the sugar cookies were amazing. I ate 3 of them on the drive home and I had to stop myself from eating the entire container. I highly recommend this shop. It's a great way to support a small family business. The owners are amazing.
What a cute little bakery! It's on the ground floor of a mixed use building (condos and businesses) so you really have to look for it...but you'll be happy once you find it! I entered through the front building lobby, but notices once I was in the bakery that you can enter directly through the back/side of the building! The sugar cookies are amazing! I'm not which my grandson loved most- decorating them or eating them! I'll be back to try some of the other treats. I'll probably try the quiche next.
This place is hard to find (but follow the arrows and it's at the back of a big apartment building), but well worth the search! I tried three items when I visited. My favorite was the morning glory muffin: it had carrot, coconut, and raisins. This was an absolutely delicious combination of flavors and textures. It was moist and a good size. I would definitely get this one over and over again. I also enjoyed the Michigan cherry bar: it had a pronounced cherry flavor and a nice, buttery topping. Lastly, I tried one of the sugar cookies: it had a pretty good flavor and was not overly sweet like the kind you'd buy at the grocery store. This is a nice little local business that I would be happy to come back and support when I'm in the area and craving some baked goods! I highly recommend checking them out to try them out.
Do you know this bakery is in Southfield?? Because I didn't and now it's my favorite destination for miles around! Absolutely unmatched anywhere nearby in the cookie, cake, treats department- much higher quality than I've found on my travels I can't tell you just one favorite but do not miss the carrot cake, the ultimate chocolate chip cookie, the junk bar, the bourbon scone (that might've been a special?) and get an iced coffee to go with it! (Ice cubes made with coffee so it never waters down!) Seats inside and benches outside- you can walk over from Bigalora lunch for dessert- that's my new plan!
This is a lovely, adorable bakery with a small fun dining space to have some sweet treats. While the space is not a large one, they have quite an impressive variety of goodies at a very nice price. The employee was very enthusiastic and kind, a nice friendly face to greet you and entice you. You would definitely pay more at equivalent bake shops, which makes it easier to get more yumminess for your money. They have a variety of cookies, brownies, small cakes, quiche, chocolate covered pretzels, cake pops, rice crispy treats, and much much more. With all of the goodies, they must also serve coffee, so it makes it a perfect spot to meet friends. I took home three treats. I tried the white chocolate cake pop, bumpy cake brownie, and a pecan chocolate brownie. All of the items were very delicious and tasted freshly baked. The kids were very impressed. They couldn't believe how good the treats tasted. This is a perfect place to order from for catering. I am not sure if that is where they get the majority of their business, but I would recommend using them. As far as a meeting place, I wish they had better signage. It was very hard to find even with a GPS. If they had a sign off the road and more arrows pointing the customers to find their location it would be easier to find since it is in the back of a building behind a restaurant and a hospital. It might help make this "hidden gem" a little less hidden.
A wonderful little bakery that is a bit off the beaten path in Southfield. The bakery is clean and simple, they have several tables and it was quiet during my visit. The bakery offers a smaller selection. I was there was an event, but was meeting friends later and so added some items. Everything I tried was great. The only issue I had was the chocolate was covered in cocoa powder that was a bit messy. The bumpy cake brownie was the standout, I will be back for another. I have a friend who does not like things to be too sweet, and so I got a raspberry rugelach, which she really liked. I also appreciated the items were very reasonably priced! read more
Excellent bakery owned and operated by a mother and daughter team. I have tried multiple deserts that they make where all of them were delicious and oh so tasty. My favorite dessert is the Rugelach which is very similar to the Polish Kolache ( crescent-shaped pastries filled with sweetened nuts or fruit preserves) which my family has during the Xmas and Thanksgiving holidays. Multiple fillings to choose from where all of them are good based on personal preference. Other favorites of mine include the Dubai Brownie, Pecan bars (If you love pecan desserts this is a must try), and their chocolate covered rice crispy treat (next level rice crispy treat). Relative to staff and environment, The owners themselves are very personable and very friendly as they are more than happy to explain their various desserts, many of them ethnic oriented. The shop itself is relatively small with a limited number of tables but definately a comfy clean environment. Definately a great place to go sit down and enjoy one of their desserts with a cup of their full bodied Joe. Overall, a business you should check out if you are in the area and have a hankering for something sweet. You will not be disappointed. read more

Really wanted to give this place 4 stars. Was stuck between 3 and 4 but due to the cons slightly outweighing the pros below, decided to round down to a 3 unfortunately. Pros: - tasty treats - reasonably priced Cons: - a little odd to find (located at the bottom of an apartment building, tucked away in the back of a complex) - very limited hours of operation - they sometimes tend to close up even earlier than the already early closing time. So if you're making a special drive down from far away, make sure it's nowhere near the closing time as it may be for nothing read more

Not where I would have expected to find a bakery, behind a condo complex in a ground floor storefront. Free parking in a lot that surrounds the condo building. I got to chat with one of the owners, she is in partnership with her daughter. She baked pastry for years as her husband was the chef, and after he passed she tried being a secretary, but got an opportunity to open the business here with a new commercial kitchen. I liked it. It is nice, and quiet, and modern, and clean. She was nice. We had the Krispy cookie, a cake pop, and a brownie. All three were really good. The owner shared they enjoy doing catering and baskets, as well. read more

Went for the Yelp event, but bought a few extra treats, because I'm a sucker for mom and pop places. This is a mother/daughter duo of magic. We have tried everything in the pictures and each item was tastier than the other. Not too sweet, which is huge for us, as we find that American sweets tend to be too sweet. My favorites are the apricot rugelach, and the banana pudding banana bread, although the others are honestly just as amazing. We will be back! Note: when you turn into the street, just keep driving... even when you start thinking "why are these apartments?"... keep driving... it's past all of that. read more

Can you say YUM?! This cute little bakery is amazing!! They have a huge selection of goodies everyday. I ordered the brownie, cake pop, and hostess cake and yes they were all amazing. The brownie was so fudgey and perfect and the cake pop was perfection. I also had the opportunity to talk to the owners daughter and she was just as lovely as their bakery. I do want to advise you, if you GPS this place it will send you to the front a building, this bakery is located in the back so just follow the signs. Overall I was so impressed with how well this bakery was put together and I loved all the goodies I ordered. If you go I highly suggest the brownie. I am in literal chocolate heaven! read more

Culinary Combo Bakery is a wonderful spot in Southfield to enjoy fresh baked goods and meet up with a friend or two. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, it is very much worth the trek. As you enter the bakery, you are consumed with it's quaintness and the amazing smell of fresh baked goodies. The shop makes you feel at home right away, offering several tables for dine-in, if you prefer. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. CCB offers many bakery options. We decided on Banana Pudding Banana Bread, a Brookie, a Lemon-Blueberry Scone, and a Junk Food bar. The prices are very reasonable for the portions. We took our stash home for dessert later in the evening. Several hours later, we finally opened the box of goodies. I was really pleased at how moist all of the treats still were. They were fresh, full of flavor and baked with high-quality ingredients. We will be back for sure! read more

It was a little tough to find, but got there in a roundabout way. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I got the Torte Stefany for my sister's birthday cake and it was just ok. It was a little more heavy on the sweeter side for me. The cake might have been too soft as well. It seemed to fall apart and crumble as it hit sliced. This is a local bakery that everyone should check out. They have sweet, savory, crispy, soft treats, anything you'd like for yourself and the whole family. Their menu is quite elaborate and some menu items rotate on a weekly basis. Prices are quite reasonable and come on, you're supporting a local bakery so of course, everything is going towards a great cause! Warning: don't come in here hungry because you will want one of everything! My eyes wanted to eat everything that I saw. Might I say this bakery does a fine job on their presentation and overall cleanliness of the shop. We finally decided on the Carrot Cake, Cherry Tart, and Cinnamon Bun. My favorite would definitely have to be the Cherry Tart and the Cinnamon Bun. Cherry Tart was soft and tart, while the Cinnamon Bun was warm and layered. I usually dislike Cinnamon Buns bc they're too sugary or leaves a bad aftertaste. This one was just pure delight! Just like everyone else said about the location, just keep driving past the apartments. Every piece of delicious treasure here is worth putting in some work to find! There's plenty of public parking in the back. There are some tables inside and they take Cash/Credit. Hope everyone can continue supporting this local bakery in Southfield! read more

Wow did this bakery smell amazing from the moment I stepped in the door. I wish there was an option to attach smells to Yelp! I took some time to browse through the cases and the countertop. I didn't know where to start! After asking some questions about different items, I chose a raspberry pop tart, a pecan diamond, a Michigan cherry bar, a key lime biscotti, and a chocolate chip cookie. My favorite was the pop tart. The frosting was unbelievably good. I'll definitely be coming back for more delicious treats! read more

This place was sort of hard to find. Be sure to drive around what looks like an apartment building. You will see a small store front. They have a nice variety of items including cake pops and chocolate covered Twinkies. The s'mores brownie is very rich and fudge like. The pop tart was pretty good as well. The carrot cake looks amazing but we are saving that for later. read more

This is a lovely little bakery that is hidden away behind a large building. Go completely around the building until you get to the culinary combo bakery. The staff was very helpful and nice. The cutest bakery with such a fun range of sweet treats! (Next time I want to try their Rugelach and rice Krispy donut!) Pros: great selection, good quality, friendly employee, nice seating area Cons: a little hard to find but not bad at all! Food comments: Sugar cookie-- sugar cookie w/ almond flavored frosting (similar to the crumbl cookie sugar cookie) Brownie-- really rich and extremely chocolate-y (apparently this is their best seller!) Sweet! Came in as a Yelp event invite and glad I did! Small bakery which you can tell is run with care and attention. It was a bit hard to find, located at the rear side of a residential building. Some signage is provided to help navigate. Odd location but definitely a hidden gem. I was quickly greeted at arrival. Everything looked so good and the 4 items I took home were very tasty. Super sweet. Price point was great too as most items were within $2.50-$4.00. It seems the offering rotates often so check back often! As a word of caution for anyone requiring a ramp entry call ahead as there was a stepped main entry out front. There may be an alternate access from through the building. read more

Wanted to update my review because I recently bought two gift baskets for the end of the school year, and my god - they were JAM PACKED with goodies and when I dropped one off at my daughter's school, the entire office staff went crazy over all the treats. Everything was delicious! The staff were so taken by the treats that they took down the bakery info for future orders!
