EXPENSIVE, nice service, excellent wine list. I loved the gazpacho as well as their foie gras. My son enjoyed the pork tenderloin and scallops. If you are tired and do not wish to leave this impeccably clean hotel, just know this lovely elegant restaurant is not for the faint of wallet, but will deliver a quality meal.

The table d'hote allowed me to get a 4 course meal for a reasonable price. All of the courses were beautifully presented. The seared tuna appetizer had a nice matcha sauce. The minestrone soup was perfectly done and was especially delicious given it was so cold outside. The fish special was cod that was creatively decorated for both flavor and looks. The dessert 'no guilt choco' was a wonderful brownie medley made of beans and had a light satisfying feel and wonderful chocolate flavor. Besides the great food the staff was exceptional. Everyone that served us was and experienced professional and very friendly. We have found Quebec City to be a wonderful place to visit for English only speakers. Very helpful staff are everywhere.

Food all looked great…read more Not all food tastes great. Perhaps more time spent seasoning vs plating would have done this location some good. Fish was overcooked. Shepherds pie tasted just of mashed potatoes. My son's 2 inches of salmon was so tiny, even little him laughed at it. Kids didn't like the homemade ketchup. And, gah, they were so slow with every course. Again, I wondered if the labor spent in the kitchen was used wisely. What were they doing back there? No, we would not return.

My wife and I were excited to eat at Cochon Dingue in Levis. I saw a few locations in downtown…read moreQuebec City and my wife liked the cute pig statues out front. Also when I got back to the hotel, I looked at some notes of things to do in Quebec City and a friend had recommended the downtown Cochon Dingue a few years ago. Turned out there was a location downstairs right next to the lobby of our hotel, which is the Levis branch. As of 2026, there are apparently 6 branches in Quebec City and one in Montreal. The cocktails were great. 5/5. But not everything on the menu was equally good. My wife's French Onion soup was 5/5 easily, though I don't often eat that dish. My escargot was tasty but basically the usual canned escargot and the tomao sauce on the bread was too sweet - sort of an Ontario pizza sauce style. 3.5/5. I ordered steak frites and while the steak was edible it was overcooked medium to medium well. I could have cooked the steak better. Fries were lukewarm for both me and my wife which is sort of a sin in my book. The wife got chopped chicken on toasted bread with some sort of gravy. Her dish was not good. Bread tasted kinda weird as did the gravy though edible. Neither of us ate the chicken which tasted kind of old. Creme brulee for dessert was good. Except for the chicken my wife and I ate everything. Would I come back here for a brunch to try their work at a different meal Yes. Would I try a different branch if I was in Quebec City. Yes. Would I come back here for dinner? No, I would not. More likely to hit up a local McDonald's or A&W's or Normandin's or just hit up IGA for some snacks.

EdiBle :)) ++…read more Ambiance is charming, authentic, old and touristy. Old wooden snow shoes on the ceiling, sharpie written signatures on the old walls, window sills etc. with shutter style windows that open to rue St. Louie. It was full and had a line out the door. +++. Food is Canadian. I had their version of shepherds pie and it was the best one I've had in 3 decades including those I've tried in England, Scotland and Ireland!! Well balanced combination and smooth mash potatoes. Their homemade ketchup is amazeBallS! It does NOT look like Heinz by the way. I tried to buy some at their store next door but were out of it :/. Idk about their other dishes but I would eat their shepherds pie every week! +++ Service is friendly prompt and well informed staff. +++. Price was very fair for the best shepherds pie eVa! - Forget about parking. This is a pedestrian friendly old Quebec. All the oddities add character bc their food is good. I'll be BaaaaacK :)) MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!

To put that in perspective, you can get a 14 oz steak for $70 at the fancy steak joint nearby. Come here for the vibe, the $5 hand made taffy roll (that you can get for $3 in the corner store) but watch out for the waiter's upsell recommendations. If you bring the kids, may be the kids plats is the way to go as you get the Taffy included.
