I've been grabbing cakes from here for a while and they're always a hit!…read more The cakes are nice and moist without being too sweet, though the buttercream can be a bit much for some. I've also tried most of the pastries and they're just as good as the cakes. My favorite is the coffee éclair, it's light, airy and sweet. Honestly, I like it more than the classic éclair. The coffee flavor just takes it up a notch. The icing on top can be a little sweet on its own, but it balances out well with the whole éclair. I always grab one or two when I'm in the area. The lemon raspberry cake is another favorite. It's light with just a hint of tartness, and the poppy seeds in the cake are a nice touch. The zeppoles are perfectly light, not greasy, and just sweet enough. I've also had the vanilla and caramel cake, and it's super soft and moist. The buttercream is on the sweeter side, but it goes really well with the cake. Black forest cake is lightly sweetened and I feel like I can eat a huge slice without it being overwhelming. Overall, this bakery is awesome, with a ton of variety. They've got baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and more. Definitely worth checking out!

The perfect combination of sweet and salty with a drizzle of honey - it exceeded my expectations. It was a chilly winter day, so I was excited when I saw the two daily soup options: mushroom and Thai coconut (both vegan and gluten free). I had trouble choosing, so I sampled them both! Again, my taste buds were more than satisfied ! Super tasty, healthy, and made fresh! As for the salads (their specialty!), you can create your own bowl or choose from their special creations with catchy names like the Juana Lisa, Hercules, Brooklyn Chop, or The Yalla! So many choices of ingredients as well as mouth watering salad dressings- I had trouble choosing a favorite - perhaps a tie for first place between the sumac and the miso. My lunch mate tried the creamy dill and was licking every last drop. Tons of protein options, the portions are very generous, and the prices won't break the bank! Don't forget to try the spinach brownie - we were lucky to snag the last two - they fly off the counter like hot cakes! All I can say is .... melt in your mouth deliciousness! If you want to sneak spinach into your kids' diet - this is the way to go!!!!! The owners and staff go above and beyond to please their customers. Deliciousness delivered with a friendly smile :) Casual and cosy space with tables and chairs or place your order to go. It is no wonder there are so many regular customers coming back for more! It's near impossible in Toronto, let alone Ontario…read more I've found one can find good Kosher food in Ottawa, but Montreal is a whole different ball game. Last time I was at Chez Benny was about 6 years ago and I'm still thinking about their Shawarma in a Laffa. I couldn't finish it and I sure as hell wanted to. Mind you, I did have a fantastic lunch for the next day. I'd put it on par with Doctor Laffa in Toronto. But it is delightful to know that there is a great option the next time I travel to Montreal (which I am severely due for). It seems from their website that they have upgraded since I have been there. Can't wait to go again!

I was dragged here by a friends with dietary restrictions. I was pretty excited to get some falafel…read morebut was unfortunately let down. The highlight was the falafel itself. It was tasty and made with green chickpeas which was nice for a change. Everything else was underwhelming. The pitas come straight from a bag without being warmed up. The salads were put in first and the falafel on top so after a few bites, all you have left is salad. Some of the salads were so salty that I couldn't eat it. Compared to other falafel I've had, it was pretty bad. It is overpriced for what it is but I was explained that this is the norm for kosher restaurants. I would not return to this restaurant.
