His nurses are always nice and accommodating, his PA is very knowledgeable and always answers questions and returns calls as soon and he's able. I have been in non stop pain for over a year, and any relief I've had came from Dr. Strausser's healing hands. His medical staff is still exemplary with one notable addition: Brian, Dr. Shatby's medical assistant. I cannot express the degree to which I am impressed by Brian's care and other members of Dr. Shatby's team, namely Lupe and Juan. 2020: I was so impressed with Dr. Shatby when he performed Achilles tendon surgery on me four years ago that I am once again under his excellent care for severe arthritis in my knees. Dr. Shatby is an extraordinary surgeon, completely informed, extremely capable, and incredibly caring. His staff is competent, efficient, and attentive, which is a very rare find these days. Because of his expertise, Dr. Shatby is in high demand, so he does not waste time, yet will spend as much time with the patient as he or she needs, answering all questions. Note: I always record my sessions with the doctor in case I forget something from the wealth of information he typically divulges. I recorded our appointment, which he did not mind in the least. Most importantly, any questions I had were typed and ready to hand to him, and I had phrased the questions as specifically as possible. He gladly answered every one of them in detail. His demeanor is matter-of-fact and to the point while still exuding sympathy and awareness of the impact of a troubling diagnosis.

After my first visit here, they say there is and charge me $160, but said they weren't able to pull up my insurance yet so next time they'll credit me towards my co-pays. I come in for visit 2 and now all of a sudden they say that they don't bill as chiro, they bill as medical which has a deductible. There is no MD's here, they are chiropractors. The billing person Carla rudely tries to explain it away and says all chiropractors offices do it! I've been to 10 different chiropractors in my life and not one does this. It's insurance fraud. This is bait and switch to get more money. You can tell when this place tries to upsell you a bunch of therapys you don't need that they're trying to get every last dollar out of you here. Was referred to SRO by my St. Luke's doctor. I had been experiencing back and leg pain eminating…read morefrom my spine for many months. No injury cause, just getting older (67). Saw Dr. Paul Chin, originally diagnosed as labral tear, did PT and Chiropractic, no improvement. MRI revealed spinal isues, referred to Dr. Edmund Choi. More PT and Chiro and recommended Hemilamenectomy. No improvement, elected for surgery March 2024. Dr. Choi supposedly performed the Hemilamenectomy and pain level reduced for a couple of weeks, then came back worse than ever. Continued PT, Chiro and Aquatic Therapy with no reduction in pain. Even tried another injection. Nothing was improving. I ended up getting another MRI and a 2nd medical consult from a Nuerosurgeon who reviewed multiple MRIs (pre and post op) and questioned me as to what surgery Dr. Choi had performed. My new Nuerosurgeon at Memorial Hermann-Woodlands said there was no evidence of any previous surgery in my spine and we were both shocked. Needless to say, I hired the Neurosurgeon to repair my spine which he skillfully completed in August 2024. I'm now 100% pain free and walking well (no thanks to Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics and espcially Dr. Choi). A couple of positive comments re: SRO - Office staff are excellent. Dr. Beukelman is a great chiropractor. All the PT crew were excellent, especially Aquatics with Kristin! I can not recommend Dr. Edmund Choi and suggest getting a second opinion to ensure adequate care. I spent almost a year in debilitating pain because this doctor couldn't fix the problem. A HUGE disappointment...
