I have seen Dr. Masson. He is very busy, but took the time to listen to my concerns and answered all of my questions about my shoulder injury and surgery. His staff were all very thoughtful and thorough in everything they did. The constant pain I had before the surgery has lessened and I believe over time it will hopefully go away. I have had Dr. Masson do three surgeries on my hands and my results are great! He fixed a bad surgery from another doctor who made my right hand almost unusable, and I am so grateful. He removed arthritis from my left hand and the recovery was short and I can use it as normal now! He fixed trigger fingers quickly with just small incisions. He actually sits and LISTENS to his patients and he's so caring. I was recommended to Dr. Masson by a physical therapist (for one of the BIG) orthopedic groups who told me Dr. Masson is the best hand surgeon in Texas and I agree. Quickly diagnosed my issue, and walked me through my options. As someone who prefers to avoid surgery, I was pleased with Dr. Masson's recommendations to do the same. In my case, surgery became necessary, and the process was done extremely professionally. I never felt uneasy, and made a full recovery. It was also very convenient to have the surgery in the same building as my pre/post op appointments, rather than a different hospital (as can often be the case for operations). Dr. Masson and his entire staff work together like a well-oiled machine, and made the entire process far more smooth than I've been accustomed to in health care. This place only receives 2 stars because of the office set up with the pull down beds and automatic voice reporter that tells the provider which room needs what. Anywho, I visited Dr. Masson on yesterday for paresthesia, numbness and tingling over the past 12 days. This was my first time here and I was a new patient. When I called I told them what my issue was and that I had scoliosis which should have prompted them to not make this appt as this doctor does not specialize in spinal orthopedics. The doctor although, nice did not really address my concerns and I felt I wasted time and money coming here. I waited 2 hours to be seen and the visit was rushed. He never looked at or assessed my spine. He did a basic "neuro" exam and stated, "I think your symptoms are getting better". How can you state my symptoms are better when I SUBJECTIVELY told you my symptoms are the same since it started. This was my first time here so the doctor has no baseline of my symptoms other than what I told him. This was a huge red flag for me. He just sent me home saying it will take weeks to months to get better. Did not provide further imaging, did not provide anything for pain but suggested Gabapentin. He totally overlooked the fact that I said I had lumbar scoliosis. He did not adequately do a differential diagnosis because radiculopathy should have been ruled out. Another poster stated how he treats POC's and I am a POC and our concerns are often overlooked and undervalued. Now I have to spend money to go to another provider who immediately insisted I get an MRI. This is what Dr. Masson should have suggested. I didn't have a good experience. read more

Dr. Levaro is amazing! He treated my severe carpal tunnel with a surgery release. He kept me informed every step of the way and was even available to talk after my surgery when I had some concerns. I am currently 2 months post op and my symptoms have been cured. I would recommend him to anyone. I had what I thought was a torn rotator cuff and was in unbearable pain, level 10 pain. I went to urgent care and they were not able to provide any relief or solution. I dealt with the pain over the weekend and was able to get in to see Dr Masson same day. His staff is excellent! From the young lady that greets you to the PA to the Doc. Not always do you get to, or even want to make small talk with your doctor. However, it really made the experience special getting to talk to the PA and also the Doc. Just incredible. I had previous doctors tell me I had spine issues and that they couldn't figure out what was wrong. One visit with Dr Masson and he immediately was able to pinpoint that it was a shoulder issue and I was back to normal within 24 hours of seeing him. I'm not someone who writes reviews often - I tend to only do so when an experience is outstanding in some way either positive or negative. In this case, I highly recommend that you find another clinic to get treatment from. My experience with ROC is that they treated me like a number, and I never really felt that anyone I dealt with was truly concerned about my wellbeing. The doctor, for the 2 minutes that I spoke with him, did not seem to see me as a person - he made sure to tell me about his black friend though (the only one maybe?), because he saw that I was black, I suppose. I called the day before my surgery and asked that a knee scooter be provided. There was a question of whether my insurance would cover it, so they said they'd give me a call back. I was told at that time that the price for the scooter would be $250. Then when the surgery was done and I was being discharged they told me the price for the scooter was $350, and it wouldn't be possible to bill me for it, I would have to pay right then - but I didn't have my wallet with me because they had told me to leave all valuables at home. They had my credit card information, and could have charged it, but that option was never explored. They sent me home without any post-op care instructions and originally without a prescription for additional pain meds - I had to call the next morning to get the doctor to submit a new prescription for me. When I called 2 days after my surgery because the pain was becoming unbearable, I was basically told that there was nothing to be done. The best suggestion they could come up with was to loosen the dressing around the injury. I concur with the other one star review here that says that Dr. Masson's bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired and leaves the patient feeling like a number - a coin to be collected on his way to wealth and prestige. If you're looking for a doctor who gives a personal touch and helps you understand the procedures you're undergoing Dr. Masson is definitely NOT your guy. In the future I'll definitely avoid ROC of Houston at all costs. read more

My family and I are so thankful to Dr. Fernando Levaro for his bed side manners and his knowledge to help our 87 year old mother with her hand. He was so nice to my mom which has severe dementia and difficult to communicate with her, but he was patience with her. Dr. Levaro was able to complete the surgery and now she's doing great. I was injured while playing sports and had a severe Swan neck deformity in my left index finger. Upon calling I was graciously assisted - even in the event I was a first time patient. The ROC team worked with my schedule to find a good time and when I arrived at the office I was greeted warmly, with little to no wait time to see Dr. Yevgeny Shuhatovich. This is a rare occurrence in the medical field these days. I was impressed. During my appointment, Dr. Yevgeny went into great detail about my injury and what my expectations should be. He eased any fears I had about the cast i had to put on for 6 weeks and told me what realistic outcomes to expect. I liked that the Dr. Yevgeny was thorough and did not pressure me into getting anything more than what I initially came in for. After 6 weeks when i went in at my appointment time, everything was already set up and I didn't had to wait even for a minute. He examined my finger and carefully took my cast off. He got my x-ray done again and showed me the results. My finger is straight again and i am able to form a fist. He also showed me the exercise i need to do to have the complete recovery. I left the ROC office feeling confident and totally satisfied with my experience. Dr. Yevgeny is by far the best that I have ever seen. Highly recommended!!! read more

Dr. Masson became my orthopedic physician/surgeon as a referral from my personal physician. A series of x-rays revealed a significant deterioration of the ac joint and rotator cup. As a result, surgery occurred in late March 2020. It is now the end of August 2020, and after months of great care and successful recovery I was released from recovery progress check-ups. I am pleased to tell you just "how pleased" that I am with the exemplary services that Dr. Masson and his team offered me. Dr. Masson is a incredible orthopedic surgeon. I broke my foot a little over a year ago. We went to an urgent care clinic who referred me to this place. It was in my best interest to get surgery, and I was terrified. However, the surgery went so smoothly that I didn't even realize they had already finished when I awoke. I asked the nurse, "wait, you're done?!". True story. During my recovery, the doctor tried to help me be as comfortable as possible. My recovery time estimate was between 4 to 6 months, but I was already walking in a little over 3 months. It's been a year, and I can't even tell that I ever had a broken foot. I can walk and run. I even roller skated with my daughter recently. The surgeon did a phenomenal job. The staff was also wonderful. Also, they let the patients pick music to play on an Amazon Alexa while adjusting dressings and applying/removing the cast. It really helps distract from the discomfort. I feel impressed with this place and very thankful. Everyone who worked there was amazing. Although, I wish the x-ray technician had been more gentle. She seemed impatient, and I felt like, "Woman, do you not realize a bone in my foot is severed?!". Overall, great place. If you have an orthopedic problem, these guys are your best bet to get back to normal. Again, I am so thankful to them. I love you guys. I did not know Dr. Levaro until my fall on Nov. 8, 2016. He did surgery on Nov. 9, 2016. He did a great job on the compound fracture of my left arm. I dare anyone to try to find the surgical scar. Dr. Yevgeny Shuhatovich came to the rescue when I split my finger open. I called requesting an appointment and I was able to get an appointment the next morning. Dr. Yevgeny Shuhatovich was thorough on explaining my situation and my options. Throughout the last month, Dr. Yevgeny Shuhatovich has been following up on my finger regularly to ensure it is healing as expected. It's been about a month since my visit and my finger has healed nicely. You can tell that the staff truely cares about their patients. Additionally, the building is easy to locate with a convenient valet parking system. The facility is modern and welcoming. I would come back to Dr. Shuhatovich in a heartbeat, but knock on wood, hopefully I won't have any further injuries anytime soon to require medical attention :) read more

Dr. Marcos Masson is a complete joke!!!!! He has the worst bed side manor I have ever seen in my life and I work In the medical field!! My father got hurt a work and this is where his job sent him and from the very moment I met this man I knew he was going to a horrible Dr just by the way he approached us!! First off he did my dads shoulder and something went complete wrong to where his shoulder ripped off the rods that he had put in his arm, My father began to do the stretches that Dr. MassonTOLD him to do and then his arm got infected because of it. So we took my father back to him a few days later and this man was so RUDE!!!!!!! He told us this was my fathers fault and that My father will never admit it. ALSO!!!! The day we took my father in to get the infection looked at it he looked at his arm and then left the room for an hour or so with us just sitting there wondering what was going on... THEN a Pre Op nurse came in the room saying ok im taking him back now..we were like WHAT?? TAKING HIM WHERE???? she stated SURGERY! We all looked like a deer in headlights because we had no clue he was going to have to have surgery. So they took him back and the DR came out and told us that they were putting him under as we speak.. OH MAN I LAYED INTO HIM!!!! I told him he had the worst bed side manor I have ever seen and that we had NO clue what was going on and that he was going to have to have surgery and his reaction was.. WELL I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPLIED!!!!! I looked at him and yelled at him were not freaking DRs so how in the hell is that implied when you look at his arm and then just walk out!!!! And next time you need to TELL your patients that they are going to have surgery instead of just sending a damn nurse in!!!! Needless to say DO NOT use DR MASSON!!! he is the worst Dr I have ever met in my life!!!!! He is so unprofessional and rude and only spends about 5 min with his patients because he crams in as many patients as he can just to get that check! **My father had to tell this man that he wants to be released because this man did nothing to help him !!!WORST DR EVER!! My 17 year old, varsity golfer, guitarist, daughter was diagnosed with severe bi-lateral (both arms) carpel tunnel syndrome. A very unusual diagnosis for someone her age.
