Smoked Jumbo Wings - 4 ct with combo platter
Vance P.

This place was recommended by a friend and we went for the first time tonight. WOW! My expectations were exceeded for sure. It's in a strip mall so I wasn't expecting it to be this great. The quality of the food is all next level. Meats were smoked very well and the sauces were unique and on point! Four different sauce options so there's something for everyone's taste! The ribs were tender and juicy. The fried okra is some of the best I've ever had on a restaurant. Absolutely homemade! The service was also very good and very helpful for first timers. Once you're inside the decor and surroundings make you forget you're in a strip mall. Will definitely be back!

First time we came here was in April. Delicious. Everything we got was a 10/10. This Cue is better than the other Cue we have been to. They had live music which was amazing to enjoy during our dinner. Came back for our second time and it was just as good as the first time! This is our favorite bbq place right now. I am happy that they are consistent and delicious. I recommend the ribs and sliced brisket. I miss the corn casseroles that they had! Bring it back!

Great BBQ in the Milton area. I love their smoked wings, chicken, salads and pulled pork, all of the sides are good but I love the fried okra with chipotle ranch and sweet potato casserole. The homemade pickles are delicious too.

My family came here for a hankering for bbq and wanted to try this place out. First off, if you go on a busy day, be prepared to find no parking. It is located in a very small shopping center with only one entrance and same as the exit so if there's no parking, you'll have to u turn inside the parking lot which is somewhat difficult. But there's parking in the back with a few spaces as well, so hopefully you could grab a spot. It's a little bit on the pricier side of bbq as well. There's 4 different sauces table side (regular bbq, mustard, vinegar, and a spicy vinegar. ) They are ok, the regular bbq sauce tastes more like a thick ketchup and the spicy sauce was not spicy whatsoever. The only other hot sauces they have available is texas pete... The bbq was underwhelming in terms of flavor.. there's not any smoky flavor but there's charred pieces I had. The hand cut fries and house ranch it came with was good. Also don't get the potato salad if you dont like it sweet. I am not used to that and I couldn't even finish it unfortunately. Brunswick stew was too thin and the pickles on the side are sweet. The chopped chicken sandwich is also heavily sauced (comes like that which we weren't aware) and couldn't eat it as it was also sweet and way too saucy. They offer military discount.

I love barbecue, and I love this place. This is my favorite barbecue restaurant but not because of the barbecue. 4 stars for barbecue. 5 stars for being an awesome, local business and treating your customers AND employees with utmost respect and care. I will clarify that statement by saying, the barbecue is pretty good. It's not my favorite, but I do like it. If you're still reading, the reason I love Cue is because of everything they do right which really became crystal clear during the pandemic. When things shut down, Cue pivoted quickly to a curbside model. Out of desperation for food we did not cook, we tried it and found it was very well done, organized, and responsibly managed. The owner was out there with his mask and his crew. You could even drink beer in your car while waiting for your food if you chose to. Once dining rooms opened up, Cue took a long time to reopen, ensuring all the right safety practices were followed. We finally took a chance and dropped in, finding it was just as expected -- proper queueing outside, proper ingress/egress, and proper table spacing. We felt pretty comfortable dining there, even though it was indoors. Back to the food, the staple of our Cue dining has to be the nachos. Yeah, it's not cheap, but it's large enough to share and fill you up. The fried okra -- and I'm not an okra guy -- is phenomenal. Everything else is pretty good.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.

Was told it would be a 20 minute wait (we were there around 6:30pm) which was fine given that if we left and tried to go anywhere else, it would have taken that much time anyway. Several others came in after us and were told similar or longer times. Hostess mentioned to us that it was crowded inside because it was so hot on the patio. After all the others kept arriving, I happened to ask if the patio was closed and she said no, to which I said we were actually fine sitting out there. Then, all the other parties waiting said the same thing, so we all got seated immediately. Hubby had the special which was meatloaf. I had the burrata salad with added grilled chicken. Mine was the perfect size for a light but filling dinner. My husband said his was good too and even recommended it to a lady who asked about it from a nearby table. He even got a free cupcake for his birthday. Service has always been very friendly. Ambiance inside can get rather noisy, but the patio was better even with cars and a plethora of Amazon trucks going through the roundabout. Temp actually wasn't too bad. Fans, shade, and a little breeze helped. Glad I asked about patio!

Got our table immediately after opting for the valet outside. Once we sat down we ordered some drinks and then of course had to get the corn bread and chicken salad croquets. The bread was delish with the honey butter but the croquettes were such a fun combination and delish! And of course if you come here you have to get the fried chicken and it's definitely plenty for 2 people and the kitchen split it for us which was great. The chicken was juicy and so flavorful and we got the potato salad which was delish. There's a lot to cover here so we'll just dive right in. Upon arriving it's a very cute space very welcoming very homie. It really feels inviting somewhere where you want to hang out. Upon arriving, we had a reservation. The host was very friendly. We were immediately seated. Overall, during the experience, the service was great, the server was very friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. We went with the three course Fixed menu as it seemed like a great deal. We ordered the mango habanero meatballs, the hogs in quilts, the fried chicken, the macaroni, field peas, and banana pudding. The meatballs were absolutely delicious. I mean, extremely tender, flavorful, very well balanced soft. I mean, honestly I could just see the whole pot of these meatballs.. There's nothing to change about them. They were literally perfect in every aspect. And steaming hot. Next was the hogs in quilts. Am I mind I'm thinking kinda like this southern pulled pork sandwich situation and a crêpe. Well that is kind of what it was. I didn't expect it to be cold. I thought this would be a hot dish and it didn't specify on the menu that it was not a hot dish. I don't know if that was just an error on the menu side or an error on the preparation side. Either way, this is a very much less desirable dish after having such delicious hot meatballs. Add this dish came out hot. It probably would've been better, but considering it was cold and the crêpe or quilt was so soggy even though the sauce was on the side, just was not an enjoyable item. Then comes the fried chicken! I have to say it was significantly more than I expected. I expected maybe a quarter chicken but you actually get a whole half of chicken as the Entree. The chicken came out hot, very crispy skin, and juicy meat. There was a little flakes sought on top, but overall, I would say the chicken itself laced seasoning. Again, everything else on it was pretty solid. It just needed some salt and seasoning into it to really take it to that next level. The macaroni was pretty much macaroni. Not too much wow factor behind it pretty standard. It came out hot though wasn't anything super impressive. Now the field peas. That was kind of one of the items I was super excited about but again, maybe I misread the menu. I guess I had the expectation of almost like a hot fall bean dish or something like that but again it came out refrigerator cold. I didn't notice anywhere on the menu where that said it was a cold this nor was it mentioned at the time of ordering that that was a cold dish. With that said the peas were also pretty too some, and if I was to order the dishes I would definitely try to request that it was served hot and again, just a little bit of extra salt. Now off to the dessert. The banana pudding! This is another item. I was super excited about. The overall presentation was nice, The pudding itself was tasty, and the banana on top was perfect. That's kind of where the positive stops here. The banana they used inside the dish was so unripe that it tasted like a little rock inside. It was almost like they used a piece of plantain that was still green. It really kind of ruined the whole dish You know it's really sad because the things here that were great were really great but the things that were bad were really bad. I think the atmosphere is wonderful. I think the service was decent. I just think there's some clarity that should be made and just for a personal preference minor tweaks that could really send this over the top. Maybe the time they took off during the remodel had things a little bumpy on their first Monday night back. I feel like there's way more potential to this place than what I experienced. we asked for a box to take the remaining chicken and the not even half eating sides home and she took it inside to box it for us. Get home. NO SIDES, JUST CHICKEN
