Love Love LOOOOOVE this place! I have been getting the Smoked Pork plate every time I've gone, and it is delicious. They have three sauces at every table for you to splatter all over your meat if you like that kind of thing! I MUST bring up that they have these seasonal vegetables, and if you go on a day where they have the Campfire Butternut Squash, you HAVE to get it. It tastes similar to sweet potatoes and is sweet and tender to perfection! Was fairly impressed with this local BBQ spot. Meats were done to perfection, with a nice smoke ring throughout. Also enjoyed the fact that the sauce was on the side as the meat stood up well on its own. Sides were good, but the potato salad was the rock-star of the bunch and I also really enjoyed the homemade pickle slices (which are a must with any real 'que!). I was in town on a business trip and based on the reviews of this place, decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The waitress brought us tastes of beer before we committed. I got the briskest and BBQ chicken. The sides were tomato and cucumber salad and fried okra. The chicken was delicious and the brisket while a little dry was also very good. The fried okra was great. It was crispy and yet light. The sauces on the side were all very different and delicious. The only issue I had was that everything on the menu and other tables looked so good, I wanted it all. The nachos looked amazing but were too huge for my stomach. Why three stars......Clean, friendly an dprompt service. The mac & cheese was outstanding and when I added some of the chopped pork and added to it was just amazing. The collard greens would make your grandmother proud. Tender but not mushy and flavorful for most suburban palates. The vinegar sauce was quite tasty and tangy. The ribs were baby back which was surprising as I failed to ask if there was a spare rib option. The meat was tender but lacked the char of charcoal and a more intense smoke flavor which I also prefer suggesting some portion of off the grill cooking. Lastly I really wish there was a combo option that allowed for chopped pork and a few bones instead of the "we only sell full racks and half racks" response which either means you won't get a sample two desired options or you end up paying more than you want to and have food left over. All in all I will return based on the sides and the ones I want to try but for a purist the meat kind of missed the mark. read more

It's a very well put together restaurant, good service, and the product is some of the best in the Atlanta area at this point in time. Rating barbeque is quite subjective, much like a fine wine. 'Cue puts a bit of a gourmet touch on a classic offering, putting forth some items for those clientele that wouldn't normally step foot in a barbeque joint (like my Mom). Now, for the meat... The pork, brisket, and sausage are mouth wateringly good. Great combination of slow cooked flavor and just the right touch of that good wood smoke. I always get a combo plate featuring two out of those three. The sides here are also top notch as well: * Brunswick stew * collard greens * creamy or vinegar based slaws * potato salad * beans * mac & cheese * tomato and cucumber salad The sauces here are extremely complimentary and not overpowering. I tend to blend the standard red with the vinegar spicy for a nice kick. Also love to dip my brisket in the mustard sauce for a nice change of pace. I've been to hundreds of BBQ restaurants the past few years. Cue undoubtedly has the absolute best BBQ Chicken Salad. I order it without the jalapeños and instead of the Chipotle Ranch, I get the regular ranch. The chicken is cooked perfectly every time and the lettuce is crisp and fresh. Well made salad. It is huge too. You will undoubtedly have to take a little over half of it home. I've also had pulled pork and brisket here as well before and both are fantastic. The sauces are of a wide variety and the sides are cooked to perfection. They have fantastic okra. The only thing I would change about this place is the sweet tea. It's just a tad bit too sweet. I've been to 'Cue twice, and overall, it's a good BBQ spot with a twist. Both times, I went for lunch and ordered the sandwich platter (two sides and choice of meat served on a bun with homemade pickles). The first time, the server gave me a "regular" plate, so I just "made" a sandwich using the texas toast. The second time, I actually got the sandwich plate. The "buns" are actually these (I think made in-house) King's Hawaiin-like rolls that are big, a little sweet, and kind of "eggy". Almost a little too much for my taste--you loose the smokey meat taste in the competing sweet taste of the roll...just not what I'm used to. Both times I got the macaroni and cheese and brunswick stew as my sides. The mac and cheese is AWE-SOME. Love it. The brunswick stew is not the best I've had. You immediately taste "tomato soup"...maybe that's their base? I asked for saltine crackers, but all they had was captain's wafers...what BBQ joint doesn't have saltines? But, I digress. There are three sauce choices: a mustard-y sauce, a vinegar-y sauce, and a tomato-y sauce. My favorite is the tomato-y sauce...it's sweet and smokey. Overall, good place to eat. If you've never been here, get the wings even if it's just an appetizer. They are seasoned perfectly and you'll be addicted quickly. While I often request Kelly as a server if she's available, any of the servers are fantastic. I have been to the Peachtree Industrial location and it's not as good as Hwy 9, not sure why. Went in for take out after looking at the yelp reviews. Settled up to the bar for a beer while I reviewed the menu bartender was great and offered a few suggestions. Decided on a half rack of ribs with smoked wings, Mac n Cheese and collard greens. Finished my beer got my food and headed home. This is where it went downhill. Wings had little smoke and the skin was chewy, not crisp. I'll let them pass on the non crispy skin due to the take our order, but the ribs were no better. Ribs were literally fall off the bone, like I couldn't even pick em up and not in a good way. Once I flight a rib in my hand I knew it was bad news before I took a bite. The ribs had literally zero smoke ring. Now how do you get ribs fall off the bone tender without a smoke ring......boiled or baked no doubt. Ribs were a disgrace?! The only reason for 2 stars was the service. Bartender was attentive, very kind and offered some suggestions- not her fault the food was garbage. I went here twice during a business trip. While I was seated in the open, clean and inviting dining room, I felt welcome and and taken care of. One visit was pretty late at night and it did not seem to make a difference -- I still got the same great service and food. I kinda wished I lived in Alpharetta (a beautiful community) so I could have tried a few more things, but I never got past the full rack of ribs. Both times I was very satisfied. The first visit the rack was so huge I could barely finish it. A few of the ribs on the rack were a bit tough and a bit dry, but not enough for me to not want to devour them. The sides they offer were really good too. One time I had collard greens and deviled egg potato salad. The other visit I got the same potato salad and a special side they had of broccoli cheese casserole. Both of these were great as well. I liked having the variety of sauces on the table. They had a vinegar based sauce, a mustard based sauce and a (I least what I think of as) a Kansas City tomato molasses based sauce. They were all good. I had never had vinegar or mustard based sauces and both were quite good, especially the mustard based sauce. It also came with a slice of Texas toast, which they grilled on one side. On the second visit, they had live music that really lent itself well to the atmosphere. It looked like a couple and they were singing country/folk songs.
