I used this company for a 1 bedroom move. Their quotes are partially time-based. The first two…read morehours have a set cost and then there is a charge for each additional half hour. Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate.

They are also open on Sunday which is SUPER helpful to me, it also doesn't hurt that it's in a perfect Sunday brunch area. I can take care of business and then continue on to brunch. You know how important brunch is to us NYer's. Howard is great and Brandon is super accommodating. He is always helpful to help me out with situations. I can also print stuff out, copy and for those few random times you need to fax something (I know, who sends faxes these days? But it does occur) I can also do that there. I tend to travel a lot and it's great because I can call them and have them send me a package of mail to wherever I am. My building does not have a doorman so I get nervous to have anything delivered there. I love that anything can come to them. They will sign for it and I can pick it up at my convenience and it will be safe. I have been and will continue to be a loyal client.

I gotta tell you, I researched and called over 5 different mover companies in the Pasadena/Eastside Area before I found these guys. Most reviews on those other moving companies show there are some crazy additional fees for usage of just a bit of tape and shrink wrap. I got warned by a friend to ask about those fees too. But Movers and Packers gave me a a flat quote! Included the uhaul, gas, mileage, tax, blankets, tape and shrink wrap! $249 for 2 hours!! That's probably cause we were moving some furniture given to us as a gift vs moving a studio of stuff. Heaviest items were the washer, dryer, and long tv stand. They nicely wrapped it with blankets and tape. And they were able to do it the same day, Wednesday, at night too (7pm)! Most companies allow 5pm the latest. We gave cash of course. We added in 20% tip. They did such a fab job, well deserved, hopefully that was good in industry standards. We were really lucky to find these guys. Vinny and Edward were super friendly, genuinely good guys. They even helped move my mom's other tv stand over just to replace it with the new stand. And when the dining table didn't fit through the front door, they offered to un-assemble but we were too lazy. After going through lots of reviews, I decided on this Greenwich Village Mail Center,which I am so glad I did! First of all, the service itself is impeccable. Especially for mail box service, all mails are kept safe even I sometimes go to retrieve after over a month long vacation (and this time with this corona virus outbreak) ! If I get a package delivered, they will send you their own tracking via e-mails so I can track that specific package using password. You can drop off mails and boxes to be mailed with easy and fast ! If I have any question, I can send them e-mails to communicate anytime! Secondly, and more importantly, the customer service in person is even better. I just love going in there to get my mails and say hello to them :) The gentleman who runs this place is just so easy to get along with. He and his staff are also so understanding and always willing to accommodate you. Over the years of my life in NYC, this place has become my stable place. I actually had two of the packers ask if they could have some of my personal property. Wow... So if I say yes, I lose. If I say no, they probably steal it anyways. WTF. Yes I did have personal property stolen from me that I discovered as missing after my move. These guys have no morals, plus they wreck damage on your personal goods and don't pay claims.

I was told what the prices for everything were and he recommended what I should do with all my items based on experience. I had a whole house to move and they were able to finish the job in under 6 hours. All the workers were courteous and professional. The foreman and workers were ALL American and spoke English, which I consider a big plus when explaining where and what you want packed. Although the price was quoted higher than some other discount movers, I warn you to stay away from the discount movers because it will cost you in broken items. My last move half my Vase's and Ceramics were chipped and cracked because I hired one of those discount place cough Half Price cough. I would definitely recommend these guys to a friend, the business is family owned and operated and the staff were really funny and easy to work with.
