Otherwise, I would definitely not recommend it at all. The storage itself is on a hill, so it's pretty steep to get up/down. When I went to rent it, the guy was like oh yeah, we salt and something about having heated concrete so that people can get into it all year. Yeah... neither of those is true. So many times the place was closed due to ice/snow. They do get you in with the special pricing. However... in the year and 3 months I was there, they raised the rent FOUR times. So basically quarterly. So it went from $100 to $250. Everyone I talked to had never heard of a storage unit raising it so many times in one year. There was no lighting in the unit, and not in the best area of town, so I'm not sure why it needed to raise that much. At one point I found a couple brown recluses and cockroaches in my unit (no, I didn't have food in there and there was none where I moved my stuff from). I lined the doorway and such with roach poison and used one of those foggers and thankfully I didn't see any more after that. I've gone through all my things and also thankful that I've seen none... but still not fun and spending the money on that stuff is not ideal. I guess lastly for now, is the lack of being able to get ahold of anyone in the office. I would leave messages (because they never actually answered the phone (it would automatically go to voicemail every time) and never could I get anyone to call me back. I will say, the corporate customer service line of the company was good and I always got further with them than trying to go through the office. So one small pro with this company. Overall, I was so incredibly frustrated and I woul dhave left long before if I'd had the ability to move my things before I did. I do not recommend this place at all. Go pretty much anywhere else is my suggestion!

My son and his girlfriend rented a unit for 2 months. It is rented through today and is completely cleaned out. They have charged him $125 dollars on two different occasions this week for clean out fees when the unit is cleaned out. We rented from them 4 years ago and they did the same thing. My rent jumped from $28 per month to $63 per month (125% increase) more than doubling with little warning. What makes it worse is how disrespectfully they handle the notification. Their customer service is excellent when you call quick responses via text, phone, and email. Yet when it comes to raising your rent, they deliberately send only a plain piece of paper in the mail. No company logo, tiny regular font, and it looks exactly like junk mail that most people would toss without opening. This sneaky tactic is grimy and intentional. If you're considering renting here, be ready for the rate to spike significantly after the promo period. I won't be renewing.

But Devon served us quite well back in 2011 and I think they deserve a little review. My boyfriend and I inherited furniture left over from a dear friends estate sale for free, mostly because the family didn't know what to do with what was left over. We decided Devon seemed the most legit place to store and was located close enough for us. We stored the furniture and some other items here until we moved out of the folks spare bedroom. The staff were all super friendly and very informative. After we signed the papers, we were whisked at break neck speed on their golf cart around the facility in the pouring rain to our storage locker. We had no trouble getting in or out through the months that we stored, or canceling our contract when we did move in to our own place later that year. I would definitely recommend Devon for psychotic golf cart rides and for good storage.

I have been here a little over 2 years and have never had a problem and they always inform us of changes and weather affecting units. They notified me with plenty of leeway to change the door and improve the locking situation. As far as the negatives? its not really anything to do with the team there- it is that the cost keeps going up and that sucks. The best thing about the uhaul? two people. Marvin the manager is truly solid! He is truly a good person trying to make a difference. I have seen him come in after power washing a box truck that was dropped of on a move from Chicago to Nashville. the renters weren't happy with the people who rented to them in Chicago so they took dumps in the back and urinated all over it. Marvin went in to spray it out and then sanitize it. and I commented because he was wet and smelled Ike bleach....so remember for ever one of your complaints they are dumped on daily.. . I also want to commend the security lady that checks on the units because she has come up to me asking questions to make sure I am who I am and that makes me feel good. i know she doesn't get paid a lot and is hoping to one day own a small home nearby for her and her daughter. So a big thanks to all for what you do every day to make a difference even when no one seems to see it and please know that we do see you but you just don't hear of all the things that you did right today.. My unit was broken into. They cut a hole in the wire mesh ceiling. Stole my tvs, surround sound,…read moreplaystation, etc. Dumped, broke and trampled on every single box in the unit. My whole home was in that unit. No one from Uhaul has reached out to me and this happened 3 days ago. I was told by the police officer that this is common for that facility. So not only do I feel violated, I feel I PAID to have my things stolen.
