I chose this location due to the close proximity to my home and overall convenience. I became a bit frustrated when I initially called in for some information on pricing and availability of units, the lady who answered was friendly but I never received a call back from the manager as she promised. Since I needed a unit immediately, I popped by the office a few days later and was offered great customer service, clear information on pricing and policies, and made a $10 deposit on a 10X10 unit. I pay around $115 for a 3rd floor unit (no heating/ac) which also allows for package and shipment deliveries and access to the facility from 9am - 9pm. If you opt to pay another $10 a month, you can have access for 24/7 too. The nice thing about this place is you don't have to commit to any complicated contracts as it is billed monthly. Easy breezy! You pay a $25 administrative fee when you commit to renting but this also includes a lock with 3 sets of keys. Overall, this location appears safe and accommodating which are pretty much my basic requirements for a storage unit. TIP: They sell boxes here. Oodles of them. TIP: Check out their website for any special promotions or deals! I was able to save $5 a month due to doing a little research! Every dollar counts, right?

Highly do not recommend…read more Neil worked for a Georgia moving company for nine years and has now owned this company for just a year. It's all about the bottom line with him. I will say we had so much negativity going on every step of the way due to issues beyond my control, and had he handled the many issues that came up with simple kindness and understanding, I wouldn't be writing this review. But even though he pitched in a couple extra hours to help out with the unpacked items/chaotic day, the day was one of the worst days of my life. It was also the worst move I've ever experienced. During his on-site estimate, he bragged about how he is working on setting up a fund to help one struggling citizen per year by cutting their moving costs down to nearly nothing or nothing at all. *Eyeroll...Believe me when I say our family couldn't be the ones any more deserving of this consideration. Neil's crews, both the two packers the day before, and the three movers the day of the move were the only semi-positive thing to mention about this move. Most, but not all of them, went the extra mile to help me, as I was in extreme distress on moving day, due to their chaos, as well as my own personally. At one point we were having a medical issue and 911 had to be called. I will also tell you they will park their moving truck far from your place so extra walking to the truck to load your belongings will take extra time. Neil claimed this job ran overtime because it was raining but every time I went outside to check the progress, most of the guys were standing around discussing who knows what and were not moving! See my video attached to observe it's NOT raining and the sidewalk is dry. Not only was the final bill almost 1/3 more than the highest quote for the job, Neil still to this day refuses to send me a keyed copy of the actual move receipt. I did get the receipt for the packing, but not the move to storage the second day. I ended up having to rent a different storage unit ONE extra mile from the original one I was told to rent by Neil. This sudden change of venue was out of my control. At the last minute I was told by the moving company the size of the unit I had on reserve was not big enough. The storage place didn't have anything available in the same size I had on hold, only huuuugeeee units. Ofc. 3 movers and I waited over 40 minutes for the manager to unlock the door for me to register WHILE I also had an UBER WAITING to take me to our hotel. She knew we were on our way because the moving guys went to talk to her ahead...on my dime. When Terry finally came to the office after multiple phone calls from both me and two of the movers, she was flippant, condescending and downright rude. She unlocked the door without making eye contact or a simple 'hello'. Her behavior was odd considering the wait. No apology. I consulted with the movers. They suggested storage one mile farther to a unit that could accommodate my belongings. I told her when I left that I didn't like her altitude! Neil states they will not pack and move the same day, that he packs only the day before the move. Moving boxes cost $2.75 each despite the size. Ha, what a joke boxes became. Beware of that because it's a lot added to the cost of the move on top of the hourly rate. Even though a pre-move visual inventory was done and the cost estimate for boxes was included, it did NOT include packing paper, half of which was provided by me. Then they don't show up with enough boxes to pack everything on 'the pack day'. As a result, this forces them to finish packing the day of your move, which in turn turns into...more hours to be billed. They pack your clothes in black garbage bags!! and then tell you you don't want to pay for wardrobe boxes. As an example, a failing I take issue with, the evening they packed, I had to open a sealed box for toilet paper. You should have seen my shocked face when I looked in the box. I saw my pricey hotel magnifying make-up mirror loose in the box, not even wrapped in packing paper at all. Other glass bathroom items in that box also were not wrapped in paper and the mirror is heavy, so this was a disaster waiting to happen. There were various items they tried to buffer with rolls of toilet paper, and decorative plastic items are most likely going to be shattered and smashed. It's a good thing I had some packing paper left of my own, and I did the best I could with what little I had. The fact remains I paid for full packing and shouldn't have had to do that. These are just a few glitches. There are just too many more to mention but rehashing it all won't change anything. Even with a 10% senior discount, it cost me $1,300.00 for this company to pack a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment, plus load and unload it into a ground-level drive-up storage unit. Use this moving company only if you like to be taken to the cleaners.

On a whim, I visited Acorn Storage. I was greeted by Paige, the Facility Manager and explained my situation. She was incredibly hospitable and professional. I was fortunate enough to get an open space and she did an outstanding job of setting-up my account and ensuring I was properly acclimated with my unit and the facility. Since obtaining my unit, I have visited the facility on multiple occasions to access my items in storage and each time, I leave happy, knowing that I found this great place. If you are looking for clean and secure storage in Bowling Green, I would absolutely recommend that you call or visit Acorn Storage first!

I had to rush and get a unit at the last minute since I was moving out of town. I was currently at…read moremy new location and called every storage facility I googled. They either wouldn't be open on my trip back or were full. This was the only place that I called that had availability. I'm sure that was due to the displaced because of the tornadoes we had. First while signing up for my unit a customer came in shortly after her husband arrived there and could not get in the gate. She asked the manager on duty if her husband being in there and not punching out to leave had to do with her not being able to access it and the manager said no. Then once she let the customer in I ask if there was a problem with the gates seeing as I'll be moving my belongings in after their business hours. She joked and assured me the other customer just simply didn't know her gate code and that someone previously punching in (without punching out) wouldn't matter. SPOILER ALERT... It Does!!! I drove my uhaul in with my movers and 5 minutes later the rest of my friends showed up to help and wouldn't you know it the code didn't work. I had to walk all the way up front to punch the code out to allow them to enter. The very next day (Sunday) I'm moving items by myself and on my THIRD trip the storage unit door gets stuck on me. I called the very manager (Monday) told her I had 1 more load to drop off before getting back on the road. And wondering if the door could get fixed. She asked me to show her it being stuck. I came up did just that and she offered me an empty unit for FREE for my inconvenience. I was very appreciative. I didn't sign a lease or anything. And assured her I'd be back to grab that stuff out of the borrowed unit in April. I only have 1 weekend off a month and I wanted to ensure it wouldn't be a problem for potential renters. She promised me it was not. And reiterated how sorry she was for my inconvenience and she knows I had to be back on the road ASAP. Did I mention that I had to leave my spare key with her to the lock on my ACTUAL unit I rented with 90% of my belongings in there so they could fix the door since it couldn't be fixed that day. I was perfectly fine with that. Cameras everywhere, seemed upstanding. Honoring me by allowing me to store a few items I couldn't fit my my tiny suv and all. HOWEVER two weeks later and I'm receiving an invoice for the unit I was supposed to be loaned for FREE for my inconvenience. I received it 12 minutes before they actually closed on Saturday. So when I woke up and checked my email before work I can't even call and talk to anyone. Also I haven't gotten even a courtesy call or email on the timeline of the repair for the unit I actually rented. But they made sure to bill me for a unit I was told I was given for free for that inconvenience. And reminded me if I don't pay I can't get inside to access anything. This place or rather at least this manager is a crook. No wonder on the 2nd visit while getting the unit for my inconvenience there was some man there apparently cursing her out. She stated how she was happy I showed up because her customers that day were all rude and nasty and the current one kept yelling at her. And when he left she talked about him as well. That was my second red flag with this place! I can't do a thing about it 3 states away currently but the very moment I can get back there and get my belongings out I will be happy to be rid of them. Because now I don't feel comfortable at all with them having full on access to ALL of my items. If they will go back on their word who knows what else they'll capable of doing. Attached is a picture of the items I had to unload that couldn't fit in my car for the trip. She "loaned" me one of their smallest units. I barely used up a corner in it. I feel I should also state that the unit I signed for had more room left in it. So much room that I could've fit a sofa and tons more boxes and things but I couldn't because the door got stuck!
