Returned their lock then a hour later I get a call later saying that she cut my lock off because I put it on the wrong unit. How did I put it on the wrong unit when the unit has tags on it if there's no lock? Also, if I put it on the wrong unit that was another customer's, would've had another lock on there? +3 witnesses states I put my lock on the right unit and I have a video. so then my stuff was left without a lock until I got back to put another lock on there. I told her on the phone I was on my way with another lock when I got there the office door was locked stating they be back soon. I was literally in the car with my nephew on the phone with her coming right back . I am telling everybody about this incident and I won't be a customer long!

Either way I guess that's the customers problem. U-haul corporate was just as stupid when I tried to explain that their truck gets less than a 1/2 gallon per mile and they were equally as bad and uncooperative. This place sucks!

We ask her to open the doors and she doesn't! They missed out on a trailer wide storage space from an older Indian individual because they had no toilet paper! That could have been a very lucrative storage space for them. The only good thing I guess is that it's climate controlled and few people bother you! But they need to get better at actually replacing toiletries and opening the bathrooms!!!

Within the last 6 months I have found mouse dropping all over my unit. I have to file a claim with a different protection company to get any of this sorted out. I highly recommend you don't use this specific location. I have tons of photos I found more mice droppings in the back and they bit through a protective coving, now ruining a very expensive couch. For all you fellow Chicago Cubs fans, you'll LOVE the fact that this U-Haul store is located on Waveland Avenue! Hey Chicago, whaddya say? Let's rent a U-Haul truck today! So I ended up renting a 15' truck for a day, and I have to say that of all the U-Haul locations I've rented from, I have now met the best U-Haul store owner ever in Karl (make sure you spell his name with a "K")! Be sure to ask him about van or truck availability, as well as to explain how much it will cost you per day AND cost per mile (depending on what vehicle you end up renting). In addition, be sure to also ask Karl about the "Take a box, Leave a box" program that he hopes to have in the future at this particular U-Haul location. The process of obtaining the 15' truck went very smoothly, and Karl even gave my buddy and me a free bottled of water each for our move! I mean, who does that anymore? Karl also included a helpful chart to let you know how much gas you'll need to put into the gas tank in order to get it back to the level the truck originally started with. The next morning, after I had returned the U-Haul truck, I saw the pride in cleanliness Karl has in his company when I saw him go to work wiping down the truck's dashboard and when he mentioned he would mop the entire floor of the truck's storage area afterward. Just FYI, for any future 15-foot truck renters, the gas needle took 10-15 minutes to go up from the 3/8 level to the 7/8 level I was supposed to fill the gas tank up to. All in all, Karl and his awesome customer service was the reason why I'm giving this U-Haul location 5/5 stars and the reason why I'm not going to rent a truck from anywhere else besides this U-Haul location if I ever need to move in Lake County again!
