First time customer. Heard so much about this place. Came in for lunch with my wife. Different layout and a clean upscale look. Menus on the wall after you enter. Also a paper version which we used. I ordered the Houdini Burger. My wife ordered the Lemon Chicken Salad. I also had some French fries with Thyme. We both had drinks. It came to just under $37 dollars. Pricey. All around the place they advertise the local sourced and clean healthy food. When I went to pay with cash the girl went to the back to get another employee. I was told they don't have change. They showed me a small sign that said they don't accept large bills. Being in business for over 50 years this really grips me. I told them how offended I was that they can't run their business. You charge way too much for your wares and then can't make $60.00 change ? To top off this they charge you a fee to use your cards here. Wow they want you to use cash and can't make change, but then charge you even more if you use a card! So onto the food. Only 5 other patrons in the place at quarter after noon. Food came after 15 minutes. Hamburger was hot and looked good. First bite in and it was just a burger. It wasn't bad, just not anything great. Again this is a $14 burger. Flavor was kinda bland. Definitely need something. Wife salad looked good. After a few moments she said it was good, but needed something. Was basically lettuce & chicken. It had a few croutons in it with a few small sliced tomatoes. It also had some shaved Parmesan flakes. After our meal we both had the same experience. Nothing notable here and food was way overpriced for what we received. So to sum up our experience with Cubby's a hard pass. Based on the very few patrons here at lunch time we appear to on the same page. Always remember that customers need to feel invited and needed. I had a really awkward meal at Cubby's while I was in St. George earlier this month. I passed their location while driving to Hurricane several times and I was drawn in because it was a cool sign. The food looked good on the website so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, the place was completely dead. No one greeted me when I walked in and the staff looked annoyed that I had arrived. I browsed the menu and contemplated leaving because it was just so....awkward. I asked the order taker a question and he flat out said he didn't know the answer and then made no effort to find an answer. The food was just okay. Nothing memorable. This one in St. George can't seem to get it together. it's often dirty, food on the ground tables with leftovers etc. last time I had my fries, they were drowning in salt. The service kills this location. Even the sign up front says "under new management" and that management sucks. We ordered in person last time and waited 45 minutes for our food. Today we tried to beat the wait by placing an online order and waited the same when we were quoted 20 minutes. After waiting in the store for 20 more minutes, they informed us that they were out of the ingredients for one of our items (wild rice for the wild rice and kale salad). Either expect to wait an hour for your food or don't come to this location. As compared to most places which only gave an appetizer, desert, OR one of a few choices for the main, but not everything. First time visiting this new restaurant. Family said it was some of the best fries they have ever had. So I had to try it myself. We tried the tri tip big dog sandwich and the cockadoodle with rosemary and sweet potato fries. First things first. This is a farm to table establishment and the food is said to be fresh and helping the local farmers. That being said it isn't cheap! High quality ingredients. This is an amazing idea and love supporting local businesses. But even better the menu is said to change based on the season and what is in stock! The staff is amazing! We have both food allergies and intolerances in our group and all of the staff communicated about it. There was an accidental cross contamination with our food and tree nuts and they came and told us that it delayed our burger and that they wanted to make it right. The kids both got T-Rex and enjoyed it, especially the fruit and juice. I got the GF Hamburger which is also DF and soy free. They offered salads but I wanted something heartier. The Top Allergen Chart they have was incredibly helpful. The atmosphere is fun and bright. The other dishes look so good, I wish I could eat them. The food was ok. I ordered the dragonslayer and it was ok. They neglected to put the bleu cheese on the burger. The bleu cheese is what sets the burger apart from the rest. Everyone was friendly they just didn't pay attention to what they are doing. Yes, there were plenty of places to sit, like every table was empty but one. I won't be back. $18, receipt below. The manager/owner couldn't have been nicer & even though there were many others lined up he took the time to answer our questions & help us make a good choice for our meal. Great service. The bun n hamburger patty were great & we could tell the beef, although smaller patty, was of good quality. We missed having tomato. Fries are extra. The price was a bit higher especially for not much in the burger. It like I said the beef was of really good quality. I've eaten at several Cubby's further north and they were OK but this one was not. I assume the prices have gone up to a ridiculous level in all of them since it's been a year or two since I dined at any of their locations but this just makes me more critical when it comes to the quality and value of the food when it arrives. The price of the sandwiches had gone up at least 50% since my last visit, which doesn't make me happy but isn't the reason for the bad review. I understand that Bidenomics is hurting us all but if you want people to spend their dwindling eat-out budget at your establishment, at least keep the quality of your offering at the top of the spectrum. If I'm spending into the high teens for a sandwich that used to be around $10, don't give me one with a crumbly, dried out bun and meat that is overcooked and dry. The food is amazing, and there is something for everyone. The service is great. In true Cubby fashion, the restaurant seating area is open-decorated and very inviting. And they have patio seating! So if you haven't made dinner plans or if you have change them head over to River road they are located in the same parking lot as Chili's, Red Lobster, and Chipotle. It wasn't cheap that's for sure and I made the mistake of ordering the "regular" size rosemary fries which was 4.99 and really was a normal amount of fries (as opposed to the small?) but my kids did not like the fries because of the rosemary seasoning so we have a lot of fries. The kids meal was good, both enjoyed their burger. I got the burger was mushroom on it and it was great except I would have liked more mushroom and less greens smashed ontop, otherwise it was very tasty. The guy at the counter was nice but took over 10 minutes to get our food and it was not busy at all in there. Additionally, for how slow it was, I'd expect it to be spotless in there. The door when you first arrived had finger prints all over it. The floors were not clean. If I were a manger I'd ensure the door which is the first thing a customer sees is clean. Pet peeve of mine.
