Pretty busy a little after 1 pm on a Saturday--we were lucky to find enough seating for our clan (15 of us). The food is ok but overpriced for what you get. My bigger complaint is that you can't get a paper receipt unless you complain long enough to a manager that they print you one off in the back. Their standard answer is "our printer is broken" which is a lie. On my first visit, I came with a group of people from work and really needed a receipt so I ended up typing in my email so they could email me a copy. It never came to my inbox. I'm sure they sell your info though or sign you up to their spam lists once they acquire your email. I can't figure out why you'd want to piss the customer off before they sit down to eat at your restaurant but apparently the owners don't care. read more

We are really fans of Cubby's in Provo! Imagine our pleasant surprise when we saw that a Cubby's was being built in Lehi, less than 1/4 mile from my husband's office. We have been to this Cubby's probably 8-10 times since they opened and we have never been disappointed. We have had the Tri-Tip Steak Salad multiple times and it has been the favorite until tonight! The Lemon Parmesan Chicken Salad is absolutely delicious!! My husband loves all the sandwiches! It is so great to see how busy they have been every time! We have no complaints! Just raves and raves!! It's a sad day when you have to admit that one of your favorite places has lost its luster. I'm not sure what the issue has been the past several times here. I've tried to attribute the decline in quality to a fluke, but after giving it another THREE chances it still doesn't seem to be where it was when this place first opened. Just a few examples: I usually get a burger here; the last few I've ordered just didn't have that much flavor to them and they were all a little dry. The sweet potato fries the last three times have been soggy and also just average in the taste department. The time we've waited to get our food has been slowly increasing. And finally, the kids meals are just not good. Still three stars for fresh, local, organic ingredients. I'm not sure if the Provo location has these same issues, I just really hope Cubby can fix the problems at this one. Unfortunately, I'll have to take a break from eating here. I will give it another try in no fewer than 6 months; hopefully the quality is back when I do decide to give it another go. read more

I recently decided to check out Cubbys around dinner time and it was PACKED. Every seat was full so we ordered our food to go and we waited 30 minutes! I'm not sure if the wait is always like that at dinner, but it went from getting a quick bite to us eating in the car because we couldn't wait any longer. The guy at the counter was nice and felt bad for making us wait so he gave us free desert. Overall amazing food (especially the sweet potato fries), good price, but can be a long wait. read more

Since this company does not provide a receipt on paper, it must be emailed, I found that too inconvenient. I cancelled my order at the register and the charge was voided by the manager. But the cashier and the manager were both snippy. There were no apologies offered. So I went up the street to Chipotle where a receipt was promptly printed, easily. read more

Cubby's is a place you want to love. Locally sourced organic food is a model every restaurant should follow. But, a burger made with locally produced beef should not mean a burger that has no beef flavor. Before I get into the food further, let me just share two things that bothered me. 1) An employee was standing at the door explaining to people the semi-complicated ordering process. 2) After ordering our food, as I went to pay, I was asked on a screen how much I would like to tip. I worked my but off as a waiter to put myself through college. I got my tip AFTER I did the work. Is this a restaurant or a snow cone stand or a respectable business. Back to the food. I was really excited about my burger, but the first bite changed things quick. Where's the beef? It was there, but all I could taste was barbeque sauce and onions. It just wasn't good. My wife had a veggie sandwich. She is never critical, but said it was "all right." Now to the price. If you are going to charge $7 for a mediocre burger, at least include the fries. We spent just over $20 on two sandwiches and two orders of fries. At least the ice in our waters was good. read more

Much to be desired... No new things here at Cubby's. Just your typical sandwich shop with cool names. They're basil shoestring fries were pretty good other than that I wasn't very impressed. Also, avoid coming here for lunch... you might find yourself standing without a table available. read more

Fantastic food! My only complaint is that there's no changing table in the bathroom. Makes for an unpleasant dining experience when parents have no choice but to change diapers right next to you in the restaurant. But I completely understand as they had no other option. read more

One of my favorite restaurants. Can't wait till they come to SLC. I crave their salads and can't keep from ordering their buffalo fries. AMAZING. PRO's Every type of fry option is amazing & this is the first & I mean first casual dining establishment that has nailed it on sweet potato fries. They're perfect. Not soggy, not mushy, just amazing. We've been 4 times now with a group where everyone has shared part of their menu selection & I have yet to try anything that wasn't amazing. Weve now tried nearly everything on the menu & every one of them has been awesome (except for dessert -don't do their desserts)! Each menu items flavor profile & variation blend together nicely & they have different twists on the norm, which is so refreshing for Utah's growing restaurant scene. It's a nice change up from Blue Lemon. Atmosphere is chill. Even though it's industrial it's not noisy & crazy like the circus Cafe Rio is. It's got a diverse crowd & has good flow & sound barrier. CON's DO NOT PLAN ON READING THE MENU IF YOU HAVE WORSE THAN 20/20 VISION & don't bring your grandma she won't be able to see the menu. The menu is in a thin microscopic size font & I have better than 20/20 vision. The desserts are all No Bueno. Seriously they all look like something a kid made for a neighborhood bake sale & wants to charge top dollar. Each dessert we've tried was sub par in flavor & a fail in presentation. Don't get your hopes up AT ALL because even their Peanut Butter Pie that they act like is super special & from the back is the equivalent of a boxed jell-o instant pie mix with a lil extra PB. Cubby desserts need some SERIOUS HELP! It's sad that their desserts are so ghetto & take away from everything else they have going. The filthy dirty metal cow you have to carry to your table is SO GROSS, clunky & annoying when trying to fill your drink cup. The name "Cubby's" has a lot to be desired & most of our other dinner guests have had a hard time wanting to go because of the name. If Cubby's went by their full name "Cubby's Chicago Beef" it would be A TON MORE APPEALING. The bathroom s take industrial design to a whole new level...& the water consumption is far from "green". Regardless of the offenders Chubby's still gets 4's because their sandwiches are so baller & have nailed it every time! read more

Maybe I'll be going back. That's the bottom line of my rating system. If I return or not. I'm a bit of a foodie so I look into this more than I should. The food is good, but not worth waiting in line for, not even like one person in line. If someone is ordering I might leave. That places this place in the same category as "Del Taco", I don't love the food, but I love that the drive through is always empty. I got the sweet potato fries and my husband got the Rosemary fries. I preferred the sweet potato fries. The fountain drinks are located in an area that gets gridlocked. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! Where to start?! First off the ordering process is confusing and chaotic especially to new comers. You can only order certain things off the menu at certain spots? Second the price of the food for the amount that you get is ridiculous. We spent $30 and still had to go home and eat again. My 9 year old was still hungry after eating the grilled cheese which nothing about it was grilled. It was two slices of cheese on a hamburger bun with a quarter of a piece of bacon on it and a cup of grapes which half were rotten! Secondly the gypsy burger which says comes with bacon on it, had less bacon than the grilled cheese sandwich my daughter had. Thirdly the tri tip sandwich I will say the meat was good but if im going to spend $10 on a sandwich I dont want it to come out on a hot dog bun. I felt like I was eating a glorified hot dog and if I had known that I would have went across the way to jdawgs. And lastly you would think if people are spending this much on such a small amount of food that they could afford to put a ceiling in, or at least paint the plywood so it doesn't look so tacky. I could have gone to JCW's and got twice as much food, better tasting and quality for CHEAPER! Needless to say we wont be back or recommending this place to anyone. But I will say a couple of the staff members were very nice. Especially when we told them the Dr. Pepper tasted like diet coke. The girl with blonde and brown hair wearing the abstract weird leggins and the tall skinny platinum blonde hair guy were both quick to fix the problem and said thanks to us for letting them know. But for the price of it, seems like they shipped it from Chicago. read more

I wish I could give a 3.5 rating. Cubby's has made some great changes since I was here previously. There are people to greet and offer you a menu and suggestions at the door, if you haven't been there before. There has been a redesign so it's more clear where you enter the line to order. My meal came with fries, and the girl at the register informed me of where to find the condiments around the corner, which was nice. You get a table number when you order so they can deliver your food to you. Someone came around after we had gotten our meals to check and make sure that things were to our liking. And, as things slowed down, there were people working to clean the restaurant. I was with a group that is doing the Whole 30 diet and Cubby's tri-tip salad is a delicious option for that lifestyle. I still think the ordering process is clunky where you tell them if you are getting a burger or chicken at the start, you take a laminated card indicating what you ordered, and then bring it to the cashier to tell them again what you had, along with any other items. Could the tablets to take the complete order be at the start of the line to get it entered for those items that take longer, and then have you go to the second set of people with tablets to pay? Maybe that can't be changed. Overall, I was very impressed with the changes that had been made and for an owner that is listening to his customers and being proactive in trying to better the restaurant experience.
