This place has gotten so expensive compared to their earlier days. If it weren't for that we'd probably come here more often! Love the simple menu. We get the craving for this place quite a bit. We love both the beef and polish. It's nice to just get exactly what you want. Service is always nice and quick. We don't eat in much but it's good for groups. Without a doubt in my mind, the reason why I continue to come back here is not just the affordability of the food, but the food is actually really pretty good for a hotdog. I always get the beef dog with their special sauce (don't even get me started on that stuff!) and jalapeños. My husband gets the polish dog with special sauce, jalapeños and banana peppers. If you forget they have individual servings in a small to go cup. Came here for lunch today. We got 2 beef and 5 polish dawgs with chips and drinks. I'm not a big hotdog person, but Jdawgs is different. For starters their dog to bun ratio is perfect! Next up, they crisscross cut their dawgs before they grill them, I don't know if that's what makes them juicy and crispy, but it's also good for holding all the toppings on. Thank you to all of the workers tonight! It was two gals and a guy, I didn't get their names. I had just gotten off a long shift to pick up some food for my boyfriend and I, and I have celiacs disease--which can be hard both explaining to those who don't know, and ensuring I won't get sick. They knew exactly what it was, how to handle cross contamination, and I felt so relieved that they were doing all they could do. They were all SO friendly, asked me how my day was, went above and beyond & made me feel seen and appreciated. That is awesome customer service. I would recommend getting a Costco dang and drink for 1.50 and adding some toppings at home. (You don't need a Costco membership to get the cafe food btw). I'm not much for hot dog joints. I can make my own daggies at pretty cheap costs and classy tastes. So why pay for them elsewhere? Maybe because your dentist hands out free dog coupons when you don't have cavities. It's literally the only reason I stopped in here. The dogs here are tasty though. It's a fairly quick process to get your hands on one. They don't seem to have all the toppings one could want, but a good array, nonetheless. I'll probably come back here if I get another coupon. I used to go to J Dawgs when it was just a little shack on BYU campus, usually for lunch with my grandpa. I am happy they've done well and expanded. Without fail I get a beef dog with pickle, onions, and special sauce. The special sauce is the game changer. But also the buns they use are SO good. Have always loved J Dawgs! I go here way too often to admit. They make an absolutely delicious polish. With the downturn from Covid19, they have been doing 6 packs of dogs or polish with all the fixins. We got a pack of polish and picked it up from the vasa in Saratoga springs. They were doing pop ups where you could preorder and just drive through to pick up. I learned two things from getting some polish and fixins to make at home. 1. They grill a dog much better than I can, somehow it's actually harder than they make it look. 2. Their pickles are amazing, how did I now know they existed until now??? Over all it was great the dogs were precut with their cross cut pattern, it came with 6 buns, their special sauce, onions, jalapeños, banana peppers and sauerkraut. I did pick-up and got to my car and they wrote on the receipt that they were out of gf buns and sorry. they didn't tell me at the counter. Based on the other reviews, my lukewarm review is probably just due to me being a Buffalo gal who is very particular about restaurant hot dogs :), but... I just did not find this tasty or appealing. When you walk in the menu is super straight forward-- polish or beef. Combo or no combo. That's it. As you go down the line, they will cook your dog in front of you and put on whatever toppings you ask for. These are not the usual hot dog toppings (e.g., banana peppers, special sauce, jalapenos, sauerkraut, onions) and I honestly had no idea what I wanted. I went with the polish dog- sauerkraut,onions, and special sauce. The special sauce is kinda a BBQ which I honestly did not enjoy on my hot dog (again, definitely in the minority here). The polish dog itself was good, but I would not be clamoring to have one of these again. There is seating available and everything was super clean. There is a self serve soda machine that includes BOTH pepsi and coke products (unique feature). read more
