I found Human Computer because of all the great reviews, and now I completely understand why they have such a great reputation. John was so sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and immediately made me feel like my computer was in good hands. He was able to fix it, get me back up and running, and it only cost me around $85! He even told me that based on how well I've taken care of my computer, it could easily have another five years of life in it. I really appreciated that he wasn't trying to convince me that I needed a new computer or sell me something I didn't need. I also couldn't believe this little shop has been here in Riverside off Van Buren since 1996! There's something really special about finding a small local business that has been around that long and still treats people with genuine kindness. We call and explain the problem with the laptop to the owner, Gilbert. He meets us at the shop, takes the laptop but doesn't pop off the back off for a 10-sec look. He hands my son a form to fill out saying that it would be $65. Luckily we pressed him on what we got for $65. FOR $65 he turns the laptop over pulls the back off (screws already removed BTW) looks at the port. Which needs to be soldered back on. Hung had a clipboard with a sheet ready to fill in all my personal information and I delighted in the cute plants, pop culture toys, and fun selection of interesting Magazines laid out for us to enjoy. Hung modeled an energetically welcoming and helpful attitude that put me instantly at ease, and informed me he would reach out and let me know what the problem with my Chromebook was once it was officially diagnosed. A few hours later I received wonderful news that there was nothing wrong with my Chromebook at all and the battery just needed extra charging! Both repairs were completed quickly, and everything worked perfectly. A few months later, my laptop touchpad started acting up again, so I took it back. He inspected it, explained the issue, and replaced the part again under warranty at no charge. I didn't even realize the repair was still covered. What I appreciate most is his honesty. He always takes the time to explain what's wrong, gives honest advice about whether a computer is worth repairing, and never tries to sell you something you don't need.
