Horrible experience. My wife went to recycle 2 TVs and an unkind older man told her it would cost her $30. When she said nobody informed her of that when she called ahead, he said "but did you ask?" Like she's an idiot. How would she know to ask? Should she have expert knowledge of the "pay to recycle" business? He was rude. We were in a pickle and Sam from Central Electronics came to our rescue. We had a new tv delivered from Costco and the delivery guys were terrible. They did not show us how to even turn on the television. In a panic, I called this marvelous company, and within an hour, and Sam' expertise, we have a working tv. Dropped my 80 inch Samsung tv off on 5/7/22 and paid 75$ deposit to fix it.. only for me and my husband to keep calling and the guy pushing it back off. He said it was going to be 500 or he offered to keep it. We need our tv, and told him that we will wait for it to be fixed. He finally said it would be 6 months to get the piece. Okay? Central Electronics contacted me through a Warranty claim I opened up on my Samsung TV regarding a dead pixel and bad DSE issues. Sam did everything in his power to convince Samsung to replace the panel (which I was not confident Samsung would do) and they were successful! Once the panel replacement arrived, Sam scheduled an appointment with me to install the new panel. Him and his helper came on time and quickly replaced the TV panel. I would not recommend this company. They gave me a quote of $150 to set up my audio for a tv. The repairman told me upon looking at my set up for approximately 20 minutes that he couldn't do anything and that I owed $150 for that assesment. He was polite and friendly but I almost felt like crying over my wasted money. Then he said that when he was in the neighborhood he would come and fix it when I bought the things he requested. They did call me a few times at the last minute but I was not available. After that they no longer called. I think they got the money and they were no longer going to bother. I think they should have been willing to come just to fix my tv but they would not make a separate trip. After they got their money basically that was it. So here's my review to warn others about this company's lack of customer service once they get their money. read more

Our Samsung TV is a POS. The wifi wasn't working correctly for months and the tv is only two years old. I looked for certified service providers via Samsung's support site and Central Electronics was listed. I called and they came out the following day. Mind you I was expecting them to be available in January due to staffing shortages and it's the week of Christmas so I was thrilled. Mario said he would be there between 12 and 2pm...he showed up at 12:00pm on the dot, holy smokes! Talk about customer service: he "fixed the tv" and it was working just fine when he left. 15 minutes later I turned it back on and it wasn't working again. I called the business and they came right back within ten minutes. He gave me a fair quote for the repair needed, removed the tv himself, and took it to the shop. Seriously Mario, you are a dream. He said he would return either Friday or Monday. Friday at 12pm he showed up with a working tv, installed it, and we are left speechless. Central Electronics was hired to de-install an older Samsung TV and install a new Samsung TV. Photos of the current TV installation were provided in advance to CE for CE to provide an estimate. On the day of the project, Sam and Mario arrived as expected. The new TV was set up to hide the "cable spaghetti" that existed under the older TV on the mantle; and move the cable box, router, etc., to the adjacent shelf. Since my son wanted to keep the old TV, Sam and Mario took the additional time to box up the older TV. Both gentlemen were professional and courteous and completed the work in less than 2.5 hours. The cost of the work was only $5 more than the quoted estimate because they needed to use a longer cable, which they supplied. Since CE is a Samsung authorized repair vendor, I am able to call them back if any issues arise from the installation in the next year. What they didn't know how to do was re-establish my OS, they were clueless on how to do this with the excuse they didn't know anything about Microsoft software. I spent another $360.00 to correct their incomplete work. total cost $853.95. They should never commit to repairs they can't complete as required. This service provider proved to be all talk and no action. My LG tv began displaying alternating horizontal lines every few seconds. At first I was told that it was a bad T- con board. After waiting two weeks for this board to arrive, I called this repair center again, and was told that I would need to pay for a new LCD board in order to get a new T-con board, and the cost would be about $500. I then called SOS tv repair, the man came out, took my set, put in the needed parts for a reasonable cost, and now I have a set with a good picture and a parts guarantee! read more

If I could give a zero I would. I would like to give Central Electronics the benefit of the doubt and for their sake I hope that they just had a bad week when I went there. SUNDAY 11/6/11 - I decided to take my 50 inch plasma TV to a reliable source, since it is my baby. So I went on Yelp to look for a place that will take good care of it. I came across Central Electronics who had good reviews and was open on Sundays. I called in to make sure they were open and they were nice enough to stay open long enough for me to drop off my TV. Approximately 1:30pm I got to Central Electronics and was greeted by Sam who was really nice and made me feel like I was leaving my TV in the right hands. I had to pay $45 dollars for him to run diagnostics but was told that the $45 would go towards my repair. MONDAY 11/7/11 -2:24pm I received a phone call from Heidi (Sam's wife) and was told that the problem with my TV was the main board and would cost $280 for the part and $150 for labor; that's $430! By then I did my research and found that a new TV around the same size as mine would cost about $600 and if it costs $430 to repair my TV I would rather buy a new one. Because I did not want to just throw away my TV I asked if there is any other way to fix the problem and she told me that she would have to ask Sam to call me back. 5:27pm Sam calls me back and said that there may be a way to fix my TV for a cheaper price; he could run diagnostic test to see if he could replace components instead of the whole main board. (At that moment I was thinking "diagnostic tests??? What have you been doing this whole time???") He said that the test will take some time and that he will call be back Wednesday or Thursday. *Wednesday and Thursday go by... and Friday was Veterans Day so I was not expecting a call* SATURDAY 11/12/11 - 10:29am Sam calls asking if I got his message (At that moment I was thinking "yeah right, no missed call or no message from him were left on my phone"). But I replied with "no." He told me that my TV was ready for pick up. I like most people was very confused at the moment. He explained that he found the problems and replaced the parts that needed to be replaced and that I would have to pay $310, $160 for the parts and $150 for labor. He then claimed that I had agreed to all these replacements when I asked him to do the diagnostics. I told him that before agreeing to anything I would like to know the cost beforehand. When I told him I did not agree to pay such a price he yelled and cursed at me "Why are you doing this? Why are you lying? I will take out all the repairs and replace them with the broken ones. Come pick up your sh%tty TV!" 1:30pm I arrived to Central Electronics and was greeted coldly by Heidi. I told her that Sam has told me to come and get my "sh%tty" TV. She replied that the TV was not ready yet and that I would have to come back on either Monday or Tuesday. This was very upsetting because Central Electronics is not near my house and is about a 35 minute drive. I was very upset and kept as much composure as I could and left. SUNDAY 11/13/11 12:26pm Sam calls me and apologizes. I accept his apology and understand that we are all human and are not perfect. I respect Sam for being man enough to apologize. He then gives me a proposition that he would leave the repairs in my TV and that it will cost me only $160 and that I would not have to pay for labor. At this moment my trust in Central Electronics was broken and I had to respectfully decline his proposition. TUESDAY 11/15/11 12:30pm Heidi calls me and tells me that my TV is ready for pick up. ***IN CONCLUSION*** 1) I am out $45 for the estimate (and diagnostic tests that I did not get results for) 2) Drove to Lakewood 3x, there and back (approximately 35 minutes each way) 3) Yelled and cursed at over the phone 4) Took over a week to get my TV back 5) Still have no idea whats wrong with my TV 6) My TV is still broken I hope I made a valid case for, why I would give Central Electronics a zero. read more

These guys are pretty awesome! I called a couple of places when I was trying to find someone to repair my TV, and I thought I was going to have to go head-2-head with someone that was going to gouge me for every penny I had. But I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised by their candor and honesty. Sam in particular. He's a cool dude. I was going to take my TV to them to save a little money. But for $10 more they'll work around your schedule and come to your home for an in house diagnosis. Which is no big deal (if you know there is something really wrong with your TV) because they deduct that off the total bill. After it was deemed that he had to take the TV into the shop, he called me the next day, gave me a price breakdown and an ETA for the fix involved. And I ended up getting my TV a day earlier. All-in-all, a broken TV is always a bummer, but losing the investment on that TV and having to buy another TV (of similar quality) would've been a nightmare. To be perfectly honest: I hope I never have to call these guys again! =/ So in lieu of my return business; I feel the need to put the good word out and give them my stamp of approval. There are two thing you need to know if you are going to buy a Samsung DLP for your home theater. First, the picture is amazing and second, the superior imagery is achieved with the use of fungible technology. That is, expect to replace certain components every few years. Enter Central Electronics. I called them on a Saturday for an in home service call. They told me they would visit my home that day to fix my problem and they delivered. Looking at the reviews here is almost looking at a pendulum swing - either folks are really happy or really upset. Not sure what happened for the upset folks, but I had a really great experience with Central and would recommend them. Here's the deal... I have about a 6 year old DLP that started to get white and black dots. Researched various forums and the culprit appeared to be the DLP chip that was going out. Looked at various websites to get a clue as to the price, and even You-tubed how to do the repair myself, but then decided to get it done professionally. Went to the manu website, got the names of authorized dealers, called and left a message at the closest and didn't get a call back after 3 hours. Then called the second closest, Central, got a live person who listened to my description of the problem, diagnosed the same fix as the forums suggested, quoted a price that was very much in line with what I'd found, and made an appointment to come out in 2-4 hours same day. My service tech, Ramon, was out w/in 2 hours, had the part on hand, took about 30 mins to do the repair. He was friendly, chatty, fast, and fair - just the qualities I look for in a repair person. TV picture is as beautiful as before. Overall .... would definitely recommend Central Electronics. read more

Awful. I only post if I receive great service or extremely poor service. Unfortunately I have to share that I would NEVER go here or spend any money here or recommend this gip shop to anyone who needs their TV repaired. The owner is a crook. I phoned him to ask him if he would help me with a loose wire on my DVD (on a TV that they repaired a couple of weeks prior). He said "yes" as he was in the area (local to the shop) andit would not be a problem to stop in and help me. He came in, wiggled a wire and said "it's working now". He then said it would be $75? I said, "you said you were in the area and would be happy to stop by and help"? Remember, his shop had just just repaired my TV two weeks before. He said "I ordinarily charge $90, so you are getting a deal"? Do not use this unless you like to get ripped off. He is a liar and thief and I will never use nor recommend this shop to anyone who ever needs their TV repaired. And I do know a lot of people who I speak to regularly who do ask me who to go to for repairs for household goods. DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF BY THIS CROOK. read more

These guys really are Incredible. 3 weeks ago My 55" LG OLED that was out of warranty, went completely black, couldn't get a picture and just made a clicking sound every time I tried to power on the TV, no picture at all. I was devastated. I found these guys on Yelp, good reviews so I called. They were at my house in an hour picking up my TV. They repaired my Main Controller Board and really impressed me, they saved my butt because I didn't have the cash to buy another tv, I'm so grateful to these guys. It is impossible for me to express myself adequately in light of the superlative service I received from Sam. On my first meeting with Sam I was impressed with his positive attitude and this only increased as I shared with him my concerns regarding my 70 inch Sony Brava projection TV which was in desperate need of help and restoration. I believed it was too old to get help from Sony for they had curtailed their servicing of and in this department. This was no problem for Sam and he began his service immediately. Because the Sony was an old set he informed me it would take a while to rectify the problem. He had gained my confidence and as he proceeded I received updates immediately as well as progressively. I liked all my Sony products and what a good feeling to have my 70 Inch Sony Brava up and running to its perfection. I might add there was also an incredible surround system which filled my entertainment area and he updated all the complicated connections to perfection. I continued to stay in contact with Sam and he later educated me regarding all the updates and suggested a newer Big Screen TV would even give me a greater picture quality. Was he ever right! I now have an 80 Inch, top of the line Samsung, purchased from Sam. When turned on, the room is filled with incredible brilliance and you would think the figures are going to leave the screen and join you. Wow! With the surround sound and it's impeccable quality it is hard to shut everything down. All sports, specials, and religious programming is nothing but a delight; bringing excitement, and beauty while taking you on a journey filled with wonder and surprise! As a man of faith, I take great delight in God's Creation and the glorious projection of all of His beauty through the my 80 Inch high end Samsung TV. Thank you Sam! I was having problems with distorted sound on the main TV I was using. I often am in the adjoining room so there is always the need to increase the volume. Sam came on a Friday, assessed the situation in 4 minutes, took my TV with him, returned it "fixed" the very next day (which was a Saturday)! With him he brought a sound bar and just wanted me to try it with no obligation since I had needed the sound to travel to my other room. I loved it, it was reasonable, it instantly made my life better than before my problem! Sam did not leave even until I practiced my new feature several times! Unfortunately I am not able to give a NO STARS rating to this HORRIBLE company and owner. Incredibly disappointed in their service and business practices. Technician (advised by him later that he was the owner) said he would come by to fix VCR that was not playing. He never mentioned anything about costs as he said he was in the area and would be "happy to stop by as he was close to my home". This Technician (owner) came by, wiggled a wire and said that would be $75 dollars? TO WIGGLE A WIRE? I had previously had my Television repaired at his shop by another Technician and he did a very nice job. His Technician was polite and professional. They do extend a 90 day warranty on parts and service. The other Technician from there had kindly stopped by about a week after he had done my repair, and fixed a very minor wiring problem. He said he was very close to my home and did not charge me a penny! The Technician that I phoned (I found out later that he was the Owner) exhibited very shady and very questionable service. He never mentioned that he was going to charge me anything. He said he was close by and would be happy to stop by and help me? After he wiggled a wire, he said that it would be $75? He said he was giving me a discount as his normal cost was $95? OUTRAGEOUS. SHADY. It is this type of business practices that give the TV repair industry a bad name out in the marketplace. I warn you all....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY and DO NOT use this company. The owner of company will politely and very smoothly RIP YOU OFF as he smiles at your face. The first new motherboard that the technician replaced didn't work due to the factory's incompetent supply. Called for an estimate on our Mitsubishi Projection TV. They came out to the house, gave us an estimate and took the TV for repairs. Sam, was very honest, and explained everything that needed to be done. The part took a little time to come in but he kept us informed on the status and was able to fix the TV and his team had it back up and running like NEW! I would recommend them to anyone. I called around and picked these guys because they had other good reviews on the net, were professional on the phone and seemed reasonably priced ($65) to come out to the house to look at my "beloved" seven year old Mitsubishi big screen. Central Electronics turned out to be the Best TV repair service ever! The guys (Ramon & another tech) came out on time. Both were good guys, professional, courteous, and careful. They gave me a written estimate. The repair had to be done at their shop but promised to have ithe TV back by Friday (it was Tuesday nght). True to their word they came back on Friday, reinstalled the repaired chassis and had it working in 15 minutes. The picture now is truly better than when I bought it new! More unbelievable is that the final repair cost came out lower than the estimate. When was the last time that happened? Totally the best experience I ever had with a repair shop. Was referred to Central Electronics by Samsung and Best Buy Geek Squad to get my less-than-60-day old TV serviced. Sam and Ramon were very professional, although they did arrive 30 minutes late. The part they replaced did not resolve the issue (uneven illumination), and was told that they would contact Samsung to approve the replacement of the display panel, and that it would take 1-2 business days to get a response. A few days later, I sat down to watch a 3D movie on Blu-ray, and noticed there was an annoying flashing black bar at the bottom of the screen. This issue was not there prior to the initial service call, as my wife and I had watched both "The Avengers" and "Star Trek Into Darkness" in 3D two weeks ago without this issue. I called Samsung, and was told they were still waiting for tech support to make a decision replacing the display panel. I logged the new complaint. A new service call and appointment was generated for today (10/8) between 12 and 1 pm. Ramon called at 11:30am today to cancel the appointment, because he had just received approval from Samsung to order the display panel, and that he would bring the additional circuit boards to repair the 3D issue when he came to replace the panel. I told Ramon that that was a lot of parts to replace in a TV that had only been used for less than 60 days, and that it really should be replaced, not repaired. Ramon asked if I wanted to call Samsung to see if they would replace the TV, and I told him that I'd call back if I wanted him to order the panel instead. Several hours later of being on the phone with Samsung (and getting nowhere), Samsung's Executive Customer Relations tells me that my TV is still pending approval for the panel to be replaced. I tell Samsung that that is not what Ramon at Central told me. Samsung called Central and spoke to Heidi, and Heidi told Samsung that I must have misunderstood Ramon, because that is not what he told me. According to Heidi, Ramon called me to cancel the appointment because Samsung had not yet approved the replacement part (even though we were now going on 5 business days). I am now waiting for Heidi to call me back regarding why Samsung has not approved the panel replacement in a timely manner, and why Central did not follow-up with Samsung regarding the delay (or why Ramon lied to me). UPDATE (10/11/13): As it turns out, Ramon did not lie to me, Samsung did. I'm still a bit upset that Central did not follow-up with Samsung when there were delays in getting the part approved, though. Now, I'm waiting for Central to call with an appointment, since according to Samsung, the part was delivered to Central today (unless Samsung is lying again). read more

I have a Samsung 67" DLP TV. I developed an issue that was a wide spread problem but one that Samsung refused to fix out of warranty. I called Central Electronics on December 21, 2011 at 9:45am with my issue. By 10:30am they were at my house and at 10:45am we had agreed on a price and the TV was heading to their shop. By 6:30pm that same night my TV was back at my house, upgraded and working better than the original. I never asked for the repair to be rushed, they just got it done and did a number of tweaks, like upgrading my circuit board from a 1080i to a 1080p. I couldn't be happier. Repairs are never fun but this one was as pleasurable as it could get. After all was said and done I feel like I got a new and better TV. Very nice job, thank you. read more
