First of all, my Opthamalogist used to be called Dr. Roger Moore, which always brought to mind James Bond and I would chuckle to myself. Then he retired and sold his practice to Kelly, my current Opthamalogist. She just had a son. That is how it is in a town like Newtown and in a private practice, where you feel like you are a part of that family. She is professional, warm and quick! The wait also is not too long as they tend to be at other doctor's offices! I only see them once a year for my annual check ups, and they still greet me and treat me like a valued old friend because I am a client. I can definitely and highly recommend her if you can get an appointment! I generally have to book 6 months in advance to get an appointment. She is that popular! read more

CT Eye Care set me up with a great new eye prescription, and corrective lens. The Ultra contact lens work great for me. I can see at all distances very easily. They certainly have helped with my photography focusing and framing. Dr. Nguyen correctly determined my dominant distance eye for my mono vision setup. This greatly helps my reading without reading glasses. My new progressive glasses are the best glasses I've had in many years. Amy's suggestion for progressive lens was a perfect idea. When I first used them for reading, the pages popped out to me like never before. I adapted to them in less than a day. Couldn't be more happy with my new eye correction setup. read more

This optometrist recently changed their name to CT Eye Care. I went to see them because of issues I was having around dizziness and nausea that I was attributing to a prescription I had received several months ago from a different doctor. Everybody was so pleasant and helpful. Dr. Nguyen seemed to take a lot of time to work with me and figure out what was going on. They also took a look at my existing lenses that I had purchased from Warby Parker, automatically and manually evaluating them to find that they were not built correctly. They wrote me a new prescription, including my PD which most doctors don't willingly give out, so that I could have Warby Parker correct them. There was never any pressure to work directly with them to buy new lenses or frames, just honest, wholesome service. Definitely recommended! read more

I switched here a few years back from a large group practice in Danbury. Glad I did! My family quickly switched over as well. Dr. Moore and all of his staff are great. I don't think I've ever had to wait in his waiting room for more than a minute which is a HUGE plus for me. Excellent follow-up on orders and questions. After having my first baby my dr. Recommended that I should visit an eye dr because of all of the new floaters that appeared throughout my pregnancy. And I must say that This practice exceeded my expectations! I saw dr. McGlynn and she was amazing! I tend to ask a lot of questions and most of the time I feel rushed but she was the complete opposite, not once did I feel rushed! she actually cares for people which is very refreshing and hard to find these days. Was brought in by a lovely staff member right on time, and both the doctor and her supporting staff explained all the tests along the way. I got astigmatism and ordered prescription glasses here. I had serious trouble with my first set of glasses and requested them to correct errors. The day they tested the new lens with universal trial frame, they were perfect for my eyes. But the delivered lens are not the same. Its been atleast 6 weeks now and my eyes are still trying to adjust to the new glasses. I don't know how many more days or months I need to wait to get back better vision. read more

She has a relatable personality that helps you feel comfortable with her as if you're talking to a long time friend rather than a doctor. The doctor was lovely. However Liz in the office was awful to deal with. I will not be going back due to her. She is rude and completely unprofessional. She was doing me a big favor when I questioned my bill. She rolled her eyes, got really nasty with her comments and tone. She is not some who should be dealing with the public. She does not follow up when she says she will. Additionally when I wanted to have my issue addressed by the Doctor since Liz was so horrible to deal with. I was told the Doctor will not address issues with patients. read more

I suffered an eye injury as a child which was pretty traumatic. Ever since then, I have been so particular, to the point of paranoid, about who goes near my eyes, and what kind of care and tests I receive. It's very important for me to receive the most advanced screenings of my retina, optic nerve, etc because of my eye injury. I moved out of Arizona and had struggled to find an eye doctor I could trust. Dr. McGlynn was recommended to me by a friend and I was quite skeptical. I called the practice and asked questions about their equipment, what tests they run, etc and received satisfactory answers. I have a busy work schedule so I was relieved to learn they take Saturday appointments. I went in, and was immediately attended to by the nurse and then Dr. McGlynn. The exams and screenings, which included photos of the inside of my eye, were everything I needed to feel secure that my eyes were thoroughly checked out, and nothing got missed that could later turn into lost eye sight. (I said "to the point of paranoid, didn't I?!) I don't like contact lenses so frames are everything to me. I'm young, so I need something youthful, that stands out, and looks fashionable. They seemed to have a good selection of crazy fun frames and standard conservative frames. I was able to get exactly what I wanted and there is no "rushing" the decision. There is no sales push of any kind, and I loved that. Top Notch. Yes, I drive an hour to see this doctor. Yes, it is absolutely the only doctor I want near my eyes. read more

Received one star because there is not an option for zero stars. The two women behind the counter were very unprofessional. Wanted to talk to each other more than acknowledging me walking in and waiting. Dr lowered my prescription and when I went back less than a week later to ask her to put my prescription back to where it was because I couldn't see I was told they couldn't get me in for over a month and I had to have the entire exam over again and would have to pay out of pocket for it because my insurance only allows eye exams once every two years. I walked out and will never be back. I have since found another eye care professional that knows how too treat their patients. Customer service is everything and those two women in the front need to learn that or they will keep losing patients. read more

I was very impressed by the friendly and professional staff, especially since I was a "walk in NEW patient". I explained that this was my day off and I was an absolute phobic about anyone touching my eyes. Doctor McGlynn kindly came out to introduce herself and reassured me, even though she had appointments scheduled she would accommodate me. I waited for a minimal 15 minutes in a tastefully holiday decorated reception room easing my nerves. "Doctor Kelly" was absolutely remarkable...she took her time to explain the various tests performed and their results in a very easy to understand manner. She made me feel very comfortable even with my astigmatism and right weak eye combination. We even joked about the fact that I can't cut a straight line,or that my husband is always adjusting the pictures on our walls. I felt very secure to entrust my eyes for corrective lenses ( previously-I had two pair of eyeglasses -one for reading, and one for distance)...now I graduated to ONE- Progressive very fashionable pair selected form her Frame Collection. I also got the same for my new Aviator Sunglasses...very reasonable I admit. Dr. McGlynn is a knowledgeable doctor who cares for her patients with patience and a lovely smile.
