My visit to CSL Plasma felt less like a plasma donation and more like volunteering to participate in a live experiment titled: "How Long Can a Human Sit in a Chair Before Questioning Reality?" The wait time? Absolutely legendary. I arrived when the sun was up. I left when I had developed a deeper understanding of patience than any meditation retreat could ever teach. I'm pretty sure I watched the entire lifecycle of a houseplant while sitting there. Understaffed doesn't even begin to describe it. It felt like three employees were trying to run an operation built for thirty. Phones ringing, lines backing up, people waiting everywhere, and the few staff members present looked like they were moving in slow motion. Not rushed. Not hustling. Just... gliding through time at a pace that suggested they had nowhere to be for the next decade. Every step took forever. Check-in? Forever. Screening? Forever. Actually getting seated? A saga. I've seen sloths show more urgency crossing a road. The frustrating part isn't even the wait, it's that you can clearly see the bottleneck happening in real time. People stacked up. Staff casually strolling between stations. No sense of urgency. No communication about delays. Just vibes and fluorescent lighting. If you have absolutely nothing else to do for the next several hours and you enjoy watching efficiency take a personal day, this might be your spot. If there were an Olympic event for "Turning 45 Minutes Into an Existential Crisis," this place would take gold, silver, and bronze. The atmosphere? Imagine a DMV that lost its will to live, mixed with fluorescent lighting bright enough to interrogate a superhero. The chairs have the personality of unsalted rice cakes. The energy in the room felt like everyone collectively realized they forgot to move their laundry to the dryer. Customer service? Let's just say I've had more warmth from an automated "Your call is important to us" message. I wasn't greeted , I was processed. I half expected someone to stamp "Fragile: Handle With Mild Indifference" on my forehead. The worst part isn't even the wait -- it's that they know they're bad and do absolutely nothing about it. Every complaint gets the same copy-paste "Sorry you had a bad experience, we're committed to improving" response... and then nothing changes. Same long waits. Same understaffed shifts. Same slow process. At some point it stops being a mistake and starts being the standard. And the paperwork. Oh, the paperwork. I'm fairly certain I signed something that gave them naming rights to my firstborn. By page 47, I was just autographing out of muscle memory. By the end of it all, I walked out feeling like I had just completed a side quest in a video game I didn't agree to start. Would I return? Only if stranded in a desert and the only way home required donating plasma to power a spaceship. One star. And that star is for the parking lot, which at least had clear lines. read more

CSL Plasma - Two feet. Zero progress. "Just a few minutes" apparently means "go ahead and renew your driver's license while you wait." - Blood & Plasma Donation Centers Near Me - Hillsboro, Oregon

07/29: I went in to donate plasma today for the first time. My spouse had gone the day before and they had accepted a voter's registration form as proof of address. A manager, in fact, was the one who said it was okay, along with a nurse. When I went in today, with the same exact information, they told me that it was not proper documentation. I let them know that my spouse was in yesterday with the voters registration and they let him donate. They said I still couldn't because they won't take the voters registration. I asked even if the manager approved it, and they said no. They just stared at me as I was telling them why I needed to donate, that im disabled and cant work. They made me fell less than, and frustrated. No kindness or empathy at all. This is ridiculous and not okay. I feel discriminated against, as my (male) spouse was approved, but not (female) me. Not right! I hope that this place actually addresses this issue. DO BETTER! 08/10 update: I called the number left below on Aug 2nd and left a message. I called again the next day and a very empathetic person took my call and went above and beyond to take my statement and info and reassured me that this was not okay and that it would be passed to a supervisor and I would get a call back... Well, its been a week and NOTHING! I'm not surprised, as their customer service was awful at the location, they must have got the, "I dont care about customers" attitude from their higher-ups. This place is a joke. They cant even return a call, let alone treat others with a bit of respect! CSL Plasma, you cant do better, can you? 08/11 update: Got the paperwork they specifically said, went into donate at 3pm (they close at 7pm)and was told I couldn't (AGAIN) because they aren't taking new donors today. WTF!?! I understand you're short staffed, AND that's your job! You still have to do it. Or at least update your clients before they waist their time and money trying to get there. Side note, this was the same person that denied me before... DISCRIMINATION? (Scruffy brown hair and beard, I believe his name is Jessie.) So I called the number, again, and their office is closed. ‍ Left a call back number, doubt they will call me back. I'll keep updating. read more

I don't appreciate waiting in line with smokers who don't think they should need to move to smoke it's offensive and the company should be enforcing the policy better as nobody should be in that crap situation. It happens to often and nothing happens but people in line choking on people's smoke. read more

I called to get information on what to expect as a new patient and the guy was clueless couldn't even give an answer besides "we're not accepting any new patients today" come between 8am-9am tomorrow yet I've been told they take new patients til 10am and I'm supposed to feel comfortable coming here? So unprofessional. read more

I've been coming to this plasma center for the past 10 years and they provide superstore service to all other CSLs. The manager Dani was /is the best phlebotomist who I was stuck by, as well as Sam, Cornellio, Maria, Maya, August, Logan, Nick, Nadya, Steven, Noah, Tami & Tad. The reception team is also very friendly & efficient - Jeff, Avery, Justin, Shin Suan & Hiedi. Couldn't ask for a friendlier & more competent staff. Sure the lines can be long depending on time of day, but they always do their best. read more

Update: I went back a few days later and the staff was incredible. Polite and informative. Painless and quick. First appointment takes about three hours. Will definitely be back! Original review: My first experience was a bad experience with one employee and not a reflection of the rest of the team.I made an appointment as a first time donor, drove 20 minutes in traffic to be turned away by a guy who gave 0 craps about helping me. He told me that it would take him too long to intake me and he would have to stay after his shift to help me so he instead sent me away. Very disappointed in the customer service and attitude of the staff. I was there almost three hours prior to closing. Shame on you CSL. read more

I had a pretty good experience, the staff was friendly. I think the lady that inject the needle into my arm wasn't fully trained , she bruises it pretty bad and they had to have a more experienced employee put the needle into my other arm. The lady that accidentally hurt me was nice so I don't mean to bash on her but I didn't like that she wasn't hit the nerve in my arm. This picture is of the bruise it left is 4 days after she hit a nerve in my arm or something like that. I think she also put the needle in way too fat and at a wrong angle, which is why the bruise extends to the side read more

CSL Plasma - Bruise on arm from the improper needle injection - Blood & Plasma Donation Centers Near Me - Hillsboro, Oregon

This center is absolutely disgusting. An employee deliberately blocked my dad from turning out of the parking lot twice. He saw that my dad was turning right so he reved up his engine and went from the left lane to the right lane and sped up to get in front of my dad then completely stopped so my dad went to get in the left lane and the employee (whose too scared to give his name)got over in the left lane in front of my dad and then completely stopped in front of him again. So my dad got out of his vehicle and asked him if he "wanted to go" and the employee sped off. My dad who was going in for his first donation, then proceeds to go into the center and watch the video, they took his social security number and all of his information. This employee then came back from his lunch which means he was not on the clock, then proceeds to tell his equally incompetent manager that my dad threatened him. So then they stopped his process and deferred him from ALL CSL locations. The employee has no proof of this "threat" but my dad sure does have the whole incident on his dash cam. Then the employee proceeds to call my dads place of employment as the phone number was on the side of the truck he was driving, which his place of employment does not care because it's all on dash cam. Absolute trash. Both the employee and manager. Maybe next time don't act like you have a set if you're just gonna speed off like a coward the run and cry to your manager like a child. Wanna make grown ups moves, well be grown up enough to deal with the problems you created. read more

This is your first time getting plasma, I would suggest a list of things; 1. Hydrate and eat well.(not wear your full, but more of healthy clean food without all the trans fats, and sugars) it's important because this will determine how fast your plasma and blood could get separated by the machine, which will result in a shorter time being at the clinic 2. Come early! Due to people coming at times of convenience it's smarter to come in the morning when you barely ate anything and you're just starting your day. The intake process took about 2 to 3 hours for things to be completed. Just make sure that you have blocked off some of your day for it. 3. Bring headphones or book and a stress ball. Those will be key while donating due to how time-consuming it can get. Overall, my experience was good. Staff were a little bit overwhelmed, so they can come off as a little forgetful, but the phlebotomists are great. They're really supportive and will be there for you. read more

FIRST of all....... I'm not new to Phlebotomy and medical care. I have 25 years of experience. I'm over 70 donations here. The reason this review is not 5 stars is because of ONE employee, Maria. I've called to complain, but she is STILL being rude, abrasive, threatening, loud, unprofessional, mean, arrogant, rough, breaking HIPAA, disrespectful, and the list goes on. She embarrasses donors, talks bad about people when they leave, yells across the floor, lies directly to my face about how she can do what she wants because she's a Senior, she kicked my chair instead of asking me to get up. Total BS. My next step is to call corporate. Do yourself a favor, read the reviews on here and other places and you'll see her name there too. The next time she treats people, including myself, like she's the Queen, she's gonna hear how I really feel. Rude as F**k.... read more

TLDR: tips for first times - know your medications -be prepared for a 3 hour visit to get signed up -bring a blanket or heavy jacket, you will get cold - find friends to refer to up your cash The process of getting signed up to donate is a lengthy one so when you come your first time set aside 3 hours for the whole experience. They have you read forms, watch a 16 minute video, do a health questionnaire, take your finger print, and do a physical before you can donate. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. The facilities were clean, organized, and well designed/ labeled. The donation process itself was almost entirely painless. I'd say the most painful part was probably the pin prick from the test they do on your finger beforehand. The insert of the needle was more uncomfy than painful. Definitely was a weird sensation, pretty cold, to feel your blood pump out then back in, but wasn't painful. Bring a blanket or heavy coat because when they pump the blood back in they use an anticoagulant that can make you fairly cold. The first time you donate they give you $100 on a prepaid card. It's also worth noting that you will need to activate said card by calling the number they provide before you can use it. If you are in this for the money, try to go once a week for the first 45 days, 8 visits in total, and you get a decent sum before the rate drops. Refer your friends and you'll get more money as well! read more

Very friendly. Everyone took fantastic care of me. Only negative thing I can say is that you don't get the $1000 they say in the ad. At this location, you can make up to $850 in the first month if you do all of the reviews, etc. Otherwise, go get that extra $$$! I made all of my vacation funds and then kept going to pay for all the little extras. Why not help others and yourself a little at the same time? read more

The staff was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. They explain everything clearly and seem organized. The space is well laid out well, with plenty of signs pointing where to go. Also a great location, right next to food spots and Target. First time donation does take a long while because of all the consent forms and prep, so make sure you have 3 hours to spare. I went in the afternoon and it was a bit busy, so I'd recommend going earlier in the day. read more

I watched the staff sit and chat for 15 minutes this morning rather than open the center at 7:00am when they're supposed to. Hilarious. Most unprofessional staff I've ever encountered out of all 6 csl centers I've been to in various states, lazy, carefree, disrespectful and short with donors. Whoever is the center manager should feel like an absolute joke. I've seen centers not have a center manager and they still were more efficient. Take the job seriously or quit! read more

Very disappointed in my experience today. Or should I say the lack there of experience. Doors are supposed to be open at 8 am, here it is 8:30 and the lights are off and no one is in office. No signs nothing to say they are going to be opening late. read more

Great staff, very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The first time takes a little long but quicker after that.

Very friendly here. Not that bad on time and again, everyone is friendly. Would definitely go back.

I've been to all 3 CSL plasmas. I really liked Vancouver, I got used to the people there. Then being in Gresham, the staff wasn't the best. And the experience was horrible. But coming here it's amazing. Just down the road from me and the staff is fantastic. Very understanding and they check up on you and joke around with you. Pretty awesome place to be!! read more

DONT waste your time going here they are always short staff. They say they open at 7 AM but then tell you come back at nine we are short staffed. The people that work here are very nice. Don't get me wrong but clearly they don't have workers that are reliable. I live in Beaverton and drive all the way out there so the amount it took me to drive out there and come back and no compensation is not worth it for me.. I highly suggest checking out BioLife near Washington Square they don't do this to their donors. read more

I was a first time donor and understood the process could take a long time. I was told to expect it to take about 2 hours and it ended up taking about 3.5. You feel a little persecuted going through the screening process, but it kind of makes sense when you consider the health risks involved. It took 2 people and 2 attempts at inserting the tube in order to get started. The pain of the injection was minor although the actual process was pretty uncomfortable: Nausea, dizziness, tingling, light-headedness, hot flashes, and extreme cold at times as well. All in all, I'd say for at least the first 4 weeks it is worth it. So long as you go about 2x/week for those 4 weeks you can make about $800. After that it is only $40-$60 per visit and that is not at all worth it. read more

Went in 3 times and couldn't take me had everything ready to and made a lousy excuse that they were understaffed got to the place in the morning 2 out of three times. Screw this. On top of that the guy who denied me the third time was an absolute jerk about it. I understand being understaffed but to be rude about it come on dude seriously. I get better treatment at the VA and they treat us like crap. Also don't try making an appointment online or the app they don't recognize it. What medical profession doesn't reconsider appointments? Friendly staff, nice way to make a little extra cash! Reward program for referrals and consistent donations.

Expect the check in process to take about 3 hours but that's normal. Mine took a little longer for reasons out of their control but they offered me snacks and drinks while I waited. I have been to a different plasma center before and this place seems much more organized and cleaner. Everyone is super friendly. I don't plan to go to any other plasma center ever again! read more

I started going here instead of Talecris in Portland because it's closer to me. But I do miss that they pay way more and have actual appointments, visits over there were fast. Visits here very slow, never enough staff?! Staff is very friendly, but please come up with appointment system. I came in today and turned right around and left the waiting lines were ridiculous long for 11am. I want to keep going here but I think a longer trip to Portland is sounding better now. Came back the next day at 8am, line long, two staff members checking in. After almost being checked in, the staff member missed up so I had to wait longer and three people went ahead of me in line. This is really frustrating, definitely will be my last time coming here. The process needs to be faster, and it can be done, I've seen at other centers. Staff still friendly. Get an appointment system!!! read more
