He always has reassured me that my wife and I were in good hands when it came to auto/renter insurance. With the highest level of professionalism and integrity, Bill continually takes the time to educate us on policy details and how the process works. The reason I write this review is to convince you all to stick with Bill and Steven Hom Insurance Services. Since I will be attending nursing school full-time pretty soon, my wife and I were looking at a number to save more money since I won't be working for the next couple years. Although rates at Steven Hom Insurance are extremely reasonable, my wife gets an incredibly cheaper rate through her work in public education which can't be found in the general market. Unfortunately we'll be switching insurance providers simply because we need to save money any way we can for the time being, but not because of a lack in quality. No No No Not at all! Steven Hom Insurance agents are the best in the market! And this isn't goodbye. Once I'm done with nursing school and find work, I plan to consider Bill once again. YOU ROCK BILL!

For my 2023 policies, my homeowners insurance carrier stopped offering policies in CA, and I was forced to switch over to another provider. I made the switch through Stone Creek but they never notified my mortgage lender of my new policy / carrier, so the lender thought I didn't have a policy and charged me for one of theirs. It took 6 months before I noticed and had to work with them to get a refund. My renewals for 2024 are actually coming up in less than 2 weeks and I have yet to receive any updates despite multiple attempted reach outs to my account manager (Robin). Ironically, I've been trying to get in contact with her for over a week (called and left a voicemail, left messages with two different receptionists) and it was only after I posted this review that I received an email from her. I shopped quotes with the same carriers directly, and am getting lower quoted rates, so at this point between the total radio silence and the higher cost of doing business with Stone Creek, I'm uncertain what SCIA's value add is. Ultimately, I ended up switching over to Jeff Wong out of Bencia and ended up saving $600 / year on my homeowners insurance alone with same carrier (Mercury). I swapped my Umbrella policy over as well, but kept my auto insurance as is as the carrier (Oregon Mutual) was still the best option.

But lately customer service is horrible. Sure, they respond quickly when you say you want to open a new policy for something. But have a question? Need other assistance? Just crickets. I think they had major turnover since the height of the pandemic and nobody seems to be local anymore. When I do talk with anyone, it's always a different person from out of state. Worse of all, when I sold a rental property and requested to cancel the policy, they cancelled the WRONG policy and I went almost 6 months with my home not being insured! I didn't realize it until much later of course because every single time I asked them to confirm my policies, they never responded. It's time to find a new broker. So sad because they used to be fantastic.

Our built-in Thermador microwave failed, and the technician who was sent out arrived alone and was unable to remove the unit for a proper diagnosis. Instead, he provided what appeared to be an educated guess. Following that, we were offered either a small cash payout or a replacement microwave that does not match our existing appliances and may not even fit the built-in space. Neither option is an appropriate solution. The purpose of a home warranty is to repair or replace items with comparable quality, function, and fit--not to offer mismatched or incompatible alternatives. Replacing a built-in appliance with something that doesn't match or fit is like replacing a painted body panel with one that's a completely different color--it simply isn't acceptable. We're asking for a proper resolution that reflects the original appliance's specifications, including fit, finish, and quality.
