She remembered me and greeted me like she's known me for years. They had a 4 pack of pup cakes already packed up. So I grabbed those and told her it was my dogs birthday. Don't forget to ask her if she has a free candle or birthday topper available! She usually has a bunch behind the counter she hands out. She gave me a candle (I got to pick out the color) and I got a little tiny happy birthday topper to put in the pup cake PS- the pup cupcakes smell absolutely delicious! The peanut butter frosting smells out of this world. I almost took a bite. As always, this place is extremely clean Staff is great! Parking is great! Flavors to pick from are great They have a huge variety. I'm so bummed I got there too late and missed out on their coconut cupcake and they had a pistachio one!! (Her flavors are always the best and always changing) So I had to go with my old trusty. I got a wedding cake one and a birthday confetti one. Again, these cupcakes are HUGE. They have the perfect amount of frosting vs cake ratio, they are not dry at all!!! Hands down the best in Orange County I got sucked in. She can make any of her cupcake flavors into a donut. So I tried the strawberry donut (inspired by her strawberry cupcake) the donuts are all in the back and not on display like the cupcakes are It's the best of both worlds The donut was light and fresh. It tasted like a Krispy Kreme but with the delicious frosting of a cupcake. This is on the sweeter side, for me? Sweeter the better. But might be too sweet for others. I can't wait to come back here for all my cupcake and cake needs in the future!!! Sweet Traders were not only able to fit me in for a tasting but also make a 6" heart shaped cake, lambeth style with black lettering, all in less than a week for me!! They absolutely kicked butt! I chose the lemon blueberry cake with vanilla Bavarian filling and my goodness, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! It was so wonderful that my guests absolutely raved about it and I hope to get a small version of it every year for our anniversary. They really had the perfect cake to icing to cream ratio annnd the cake was so moist. You can see the ratio in the picture. The top and side is their wonderful buttercream icing, then the lemon blueberry cake and vanilla Bavarian cream between each layer of cake. And just when I thought my experience with Sweet Traders couldn't get any better, their pricing was extremely reasonable and fair! However, we were really disappointed in how they handled our order. We placed our order a couple of weeks ago and received our confirmation about a week later that they were ready to be picked up. However, the email only indicated that they were ready to be picked up anytime Mon-Sun at their popup location. When we arrived, the told us that they had taken back our order because it had been over 5 days and no one had picked them up yet. Then they told us they would try and see if they could recreate our order. TBH, that is the absolute most ridiculous way to do business. No where on their site did it say it had to be picked up within a certain timeframe, AND no where on their confirmation pick up email did it say it had to be picked up by a certain timeframe either. On top of that, they said that we should have called them. Um no, it's your small business, you have left over orders that need to be picked up, then you need to reach out to the customers and let them know they only have so many more days to pick them up before they are forfeited. That's how all small business, food-related or not, handle thing, especially when there are timeframe constraints. To be clear, the time constraint was not an issue IF they had even expressed there is one, but they never did. Please clean up on your business practices, it's very important to communicate with your customer base.

The employees aren't the most high energy, but they've always been kind, recognize my husband and I, and have even remembered my regular order a few times. My favorites are the almond croissant and the apple turnover, but their muffins and danishes are good too. We haven't bought a full size cake yet, but the mini cupcakes we've tried have been good! Moist cake and frosting with flavor, not just sugar. The fruit tarts and macarons are some of our favorite items to grab for dessert. A couple tips as regulars: * If you're wanting a specific pastry, come in within a couple hours of opening! The few times we've waited until after noon, they were out of our favorites. * They open at 8AM every day but are closed on Sundays and Mondays. This is why we always come on Saturdays or the occasional weekday morning.
