I walked past the place and managed to get an appointment for the next day. It was busy when I arrived. I opted for a regular pedicure and it was the fastest pedicure I ever had. It was done in 30 minutes or less (excluding the drying time). Throughout the entire service, the nail technician tried to upsell services to me for add-ons. I rejected them as I just wanted a regular pedicure. The scrub and massage were barely there, just a rudimentary thing she did. It seemed like she was not interested in doing more than necessary once I said no to all the extra stuff. I did not particularly enjoy the service or the place. It felt like a sweat shop where everyone was being hurried along. The price was about the same as elsewhere though if you have the coupon, you get a few dollars off. I did not get the coupon though, but it could explain why this place is always busy. The only thing it has going for it is the free parking in Columbia Square Plaza.

Pedicure isn't even 6 hours old and I still have dry skin on my feet .. they aren't even smooth

Okay so I didn't hate my mani/pedi but I didn't love it either .. I was way over due for one due to just relocating to bc but I tried this place based on numerous recommendations and reviews from yelp were okay.. Something to take into consideration thy weren't super busy when I arrived at 3pm today . When I was leaving they got busier so I can't chalk this off to rushing due to high traffic Pros:- in no order of Importance - complimentary pedi slippers :) -wide variety of quality nail polish , opi gel ish etc -affordable - based on other price lists I've seen -EXCELLENT customer service and friendly staff I had Trish- she wasn't chatty but she was kind and made some conversation -TVS that aren't too loud so u can ignore them if need be but with captions if u can't hear them well - inviting atmosphere - standard massage chairs - foot baths were ok Cons - Manicure water was cold - not my liking -Manicure was 12 minutes along I timed it and to me that's realy short it also wasnt a well done mani just okay polish was applied well though - my pedicure was mediocre border line bad ; I still have dry skin on my feet and my polish was not painted well (see pictures) now I know you are wondering if I got a bad pedi and just an okay mani why the 3 stars? Well the customer service was worth it and would probably allow me to try them again but just pay more attention to my end result ... and there is no way I would be coughing up 55-85 for any of their deluxe treatments I do not think I would get my money worth Honesty for 45 dollars I guess this might be considered okay but I'm really unhappy with my pedi .. for the reasons stated above and my mani honestly was just okay .. in terms that I am used to better quality services ... but I would really like to stress that their customer service is pretty good .. and they are friendly I didn't feel like they were talking about me in viet the talking between technicians was actually minimal.. but hey I would at least reccomend u give them a shot ..

Walked in to get my shellac removed, ended up getting a shellac mani. Pros: clean and quiet ambiance, lots of shades to choose from. Convenient location Cons: Didn't have any Going to try this place for pedi and then might keep it as my go-to place :)

Shellac manicure - just a little too short.

I walked in on a Monday afternoon, without an appointment. I was greeted right away and asked if I had an appointment. I said no and watched as the nail tech checked the schedule. There was room for me so she penciled me in. I said I wanted a regular pedicure and a shellac manicure. As I sat down in the massage chair for my pedicure (which she turned on for me), I felt relaxed. I'll be honest, I don't get pedicures often because I hate my feet being touched. I usually spend the whole time squirming and I'm uncomfortable. This wasn't the case though. As Trish went to work on my feet, she handed me two colour swatches: one for my manicure and one for my pedicure. It was a nice touch that I didn't have to waste time looking for a colour. I was able to choose one while my nails were being worked on. After I choose my colours, she handed me a sheet that showed different pedicure options. I still insisted that I just wanted a regular pedicure and she didn't push me further. When it came time for my manicure, she asked me if I wanted my nails short. I said yes. I really should have been more specific though. She definitely cut them too short for my liking. You know when you cut your nails so short that you can feel that they've been cut? Yeah, it's that feeling. Not a big fan of that feeling. Both my manicure and pedicure look nice though and Trish was very polite and pleasant to deal with. The total came to $60 (cash) which isn't a horrible price. I'll be back, but I'll definitely specify that I want my nails short, but not TOO short.

My favorite nude set I got at Crystal Nails

Crystal nails is always busy and there's good reason why . If you want a minimal frills, Classic Asian nail salon with vibrating pedicure chairs, 10 gel colour wheels and same day availablity, this salon is a good choice. Here are some basic pros and some cons about Crystal Nails. Pros: same day appointments Well priced Selection and consistency of colours and quality Communication is fair to good Fast service, no wait and appointments are kept. A few "veterans" to help with the more advanced requests . Clean with consistent quality Cons: the attendants will stand and gather and noticeably comment and stare and talk to each other about your nails . This seems to be a norm at Crystal nails . It's a larger establishment and even though all they do there is nails, the attendants have actually made me uncomfortable a few times when they gather and talk about my nails as they are done . I tend to only get French or French ombré so I don't know why this would be but it is what they do . No music . It's a busy place and it would be nice to have a more tranquil setting . They have a tv but it's on mute so bring your own head phones to listen to a podcast . There are some rookies . I have backed away from my color choice once or twice because the attendant wasn't sure whether or not she could do my request . If you find one of the senior girls like Kim or Vivian then you'll be fine but there are some new ladies who are uneasy still . I did have one terrible service here once . French ombré pedicure . Really off and didn't look French ombré ...just a blob . Be sure to ask for someone who specializes in this prior to diving in . All in all, I like my nails done quickly and I don't always have the ability to plan days in advance . If you want a solid place to be a regular at, this is a great choice . Fast and consistent but no frills

After several treatments I noticed I was being tweezed with a few zaps here and there. She offered me a"deal" cuz I was a single mother, where in reality I was paying $65 for 15 min of tweezing. My final visit she told me I needed to wear deodorant and that I reeked of BO and said this infront of people in the waiting room and made me feel terrible about myself. I went home and asked people if it had odour that was strong and I did not i had fresh laundered clothing and just showered , so basically she didn't like my perfume i guess and decided to make me feel bad about it. I told her that she made me feel really awful about myself and her response to it was to leave me a voice message saying how wonderful of a mother I am..... No apology no accountability nothing. I have since gone to a new electrolisys and let me tell you that I know for a fact now with experiencing proper electrolisys I was being ripped of and charged for tweezing. Not only I a single mother who struggles to make things happen she made me think she was doing me a wonderful service and kindness where in reality she was taking advantage of and ripping off a single mother. I do t care if she is manic bipolar or whatever she claims it's no excuse for belittling and ripping off a client knowing they are a single mother and gaslighting them. Shame on you ! Silver lining I know what actual proper electrolisys feel is like so i won't be scammed again! And side note she has no clue what kind of mother I am she saw me hand my kid a tablet for 15 minutes while she tweezed my face! i went to at least 6 treatments first one was free and each one after that was $65 ....So I got ripped off $325 as a single mother so I hope she feels good about herself. Not to mention she would actively complain about other clients to me....red flag right there! But at least I didn't invest thousands of dollars in to treatments that were simply tweezing. With proper electrolisys you do not feel the hair being plucked from your face! And as for being told I reek in front of a full waiting room so unprofessional. I want a refund but that's not going to happen seeing as she couldn't even acknowledge how rude and unprofessional she was. Oh but thanks for thinking i'm such a good mom ‍ I have a follow with this, She offered to send me a "donation" from her so called homeless and single parent foundation as a way to "help" me and in no ways was it cuz she ripped me off and then just never did and is no long replying to my messages I am going to post the texts on google review as well. Oh and then said she can have my treatments covered by MSP now...

I have (in the last year alone) experienced the drs being so overbooked that I waited over an hr and was told it would be another hour. And I couldn't leave and come back in an hr because "they were booked at that time" and if I left I would lose my spot. Having no choice but to wait or go to the ER, I waited. I have received calls from drs for appointments that I didn't schedule, and have not received calls for appointments that I not only scheduled, but confirmed (because this happens). They don't answer the phone when I call about missed appointments, but tell you to send an email. I emailed multiple times over days to confirm appointments and never once got a response, and when I did reach a person they didn't know I had emailed. I have called the clinic with complaints about this and have never received a response. I have complained to the drs and they have not responded. Sadly, because there are no family drs in BC, I have to stick with this clinic and cross my fingers. *note - I have posted this under a derivative of my name for privacy reasons. Limina has a plethora of options for facials, so much so that I really had no idea what I wanted or needed. so when I arrived Jessica walked out to greet me, looking at my skin. Yes, it is a little unnerving, but it's what I asked for... and she promptly decided on my skin care treatment. She lead me into a room with what can only be described as the most comfortable facial bed ever. I got undressed and into the soft sheets by the time she was back. Jessica takes her time and does things rhythmically and methodically. While other facials have included painful extraction, Jessica's was... well, heavenly. The extraction was literally pain and thus flinch free. And while your scrubs/steams/masks/lotions are working their magic, her hands are working their magic on you. One of the most relaxing massages in memory. I signed up for their membership, which I wasn't planning to do... but 30% off any treatment once a month? That makes it affordable to come in and get a facial regularly. And the facials? Are heaven. Particularly when you're in Jessica's hands. The entire experience cost less than expected, which pleased me greatly.

However, two days ago I went in for another eyebrow wax with the same esthetician, and came out with a very different result. I asked her to please leave the body of my brow the same width and simply to clean up and define the outline and remove stray hairs. I emphasized that I didn't want the width of my brows to change significantly, and that symmetry was my #1 priority. I also told her that my eyebrow hairs are quite easy to kill off and I would prefer trimming over tweezing/waxing if applicable. Well..... I came out with both eyebrows significantly thinner, asymmetrical in width and length, and with a patch of unwaxed hairs under my right arch. I shared these concerns with the esthetician. She mumbled something about how one side probably wouldn't grow back and hustled me out of the room. She had already applied eyebrow makeup (which I didn't want due to my concerns about infection, esp on freshly waxed skin) without asking me, and this made it even more difficult to really assess the situation, but when I went home, washed my face and really had a look, I was horrified. I have attached a picture below for you all to see for yourselves. I tried calling Limina. I told the receptionist my issue, and she immediately said she'd call me back. Once she did, all she said was "Sure, I guess you can come back now if you want her to fix it." Having been burned already, with a response like that, you can imagine that I didn't return and never will.

Sugaring Change popped up and I was intrigued. I never got the chance to try the place until recently. So Sugaring Change it is. This is the fastest Brazilian hair removal I ever had. I think I was done in 15-20 minutes. It was gentle, less painful (to me) than hard or soft wax. It was clean and best of all, no tweezing was done (not sure if it is commonly done anyway). I had my session with Danica and she was very patient in explaining the procedures and would let me know the products she would be using as I am sensitive to certain products. The place was nice, clean and quiet. You need to key in a code at the door to enter. I do not think there is a receptionist there at all times as I tried calling when I was there and there was no answer.
