This place is really good! I needed and emergency fill and was down in the lower Lonsdale area. I tried two other places in the neighbourhood but they were busy and couldn't take me for hours. About Nails was able to take me right away, Kim was my attendant - I think she is actually the owner of the salon. Very friendly and does a great job. Not pushy and had the job done quickly which I appreciate as I was panicking for leaving it to late before heading out for the evening. This is now my GO TO place for nails. Next time I'll have a pedi too. read more

This is a great salon. Staff all have years of experience and really do great Nani's & pedi's. They are so accommodating! They will always try to fit you in when you call and if an appointment cancels, they're on the phone calling you back to let you know they can get you in. Highly recommend this shop! read more

She took great care to make sure all my nails were even, and added tips to the few that had broken the day before and were too short. Overall it was a lovely experience. Technically good, but staff generally very dour. Salon is well-run by the owner Kim but customer relations very poor. When paying the bill one gets charged more than you bargained for - you book an acrylic fill but then get charged for a whole new set, which is fine if you were warned about it in advance. After being a long-term client, I have gradually lost my trust in them because I never know what I am going to be charged for. Also not enjoyable to be scolded when daring to ask for an explanation. Other good salons also have good technicians, this one seems to have become over-assured and arrogant. read more

I am so glad I discovered this place because it is a little hidden and does not stand out. It's pricier than others but the quality of work exceeds other salons in the area. Kim oversees the work of her staff and she is a perfectionist. I had a couple of acrylic plus gel sets done here and they were close to perfection, same with pedicures and colour. They keep to appointment times and you're never waiting. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for quality. read more

Great place to get your nails done. I love the ladies there. They are always so welcoming, always accommodate me even with very short notice and the prices are great. I'm 25 years old and I decided to get my nails done for the first time. I got a couple good reviews from girlfriends of mine to get them done at About Nails. I went and an hour and a half later and a fat tip I looked at my nails and couldn`t stop staring at my real nails that were still visible right under the tips. I asked her about it and she said it`s supposed to look like that. I didn`t question it anymore and showed them to my girlfriends the next day. They all told me to go back and complain. Every nail was visible under each tip except my left thumb. I went back and honestly told them I was not happy with the service so they ''TRIED'' to fix the problem. They actually made it MUCH worse. I should have taken a BEFORE pics as I only have the after pics. Take a look for youself. Not the right length, which you can tell from the back of the nails, glittered tips are all different sizes, left hand differs from right hand, and extremly MESSY. I love getting my occasional mani and pedis but with About Nails, I keep wanting to go back. And the reason why is because they do a really good job. I had my French manicured gel nails done twice there already and each time the experience is excellent and my nails look gorgeous. It also lasts a lot longer than when i get it done at other places too. Kim is the owner and nail extraordinaire, she's very attentive and knows how to handle different nail types so they last longer. I think I've found my go-to nail salon. My regular salon could not fit me in for pedi with shellac. After reading all the positive reviews gave About Nails I gave them a call and they fit me in. Short notice but they did not rush me, the pedi was absolutely wonderful and it was a very service orientated salon. Two months later needed another pedi - called, made an appointment and again the same terrific service, pedi was done perfectly and the price is incredibly reasonable. I don't go to a specific tech because each one of them are good and they are quite busy so they fill up quick. Kim, the owner made a pedicure appointment for me - when I went to confirm and request for it to be changed if possible, one of the technicians said there wasn't any appointment in my name for that day and time to my great disappointment as it was supposed to be on my day off, Wednesday, which was important. Wednesdays are Kim's day off (in just recent months she decided to take this day off) so no solution could be made, as the person who was to do my toes was booked up all that day. Kim is usually booked up on Saturdays so it's virtually impossible to make an appointment with her to do my hand nails as well. I left a message saying I was upset by not being able to get my toes done on that Wednesday. Kim called me on Thursday to apologize and said she was busy and forgot to put me in for that Wednesday but the apology didn't seem that sincere. This place is obviously too busy to accommodate loyal customers such as myself, and as a result I am looking for much better service from another nail salon. read more
