As I came in to pick up a bunch of clothes, they told me that they owed me a $7 credit due to marking the wrong clothing type on my previous order which caused an over charge. I walked in to this place because I needed my dress to be steamed not dry cleaned. I walked in and two women just looked at me and I just asked nicely how much it would cost to steam my outfit. The lady said $22.00. Are you freaken kidding me I said, $22.00 I was like no thanks YOU'RE CRAZY and walked out. These people are crooks, I went down the street and I was only charged $7.00, to get the same exact item steamed. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to get wrinkles out of a dress. Who do they think they are thinking I'm actually even going to pay $22.00 for a dress?? I would never even step foot in this establishment let alone ever recommend this place to anyone. STAY AWAY!! I've been coming here for about 3 years now. So glad they moved, since the original place had limited parking. The customer service from Robert and the rest of the staff is amazing. They treat everyone like old friends. I like that they make a point to remember their client's names so they're not only greeted at the door, but they'll ask you, "oh you said last time you went to see your mom, how is she?" Very personable. One time I was accidentally over changed, I didn't even notice. On my next visit, Robert reimbursed me with cash! Wow! Who does that these days! Honest people! It's nice to be known by name--except of course when I'm bringing in clothes with embarrassing stains. My only negative experience was when the alterations lady, measuring the hem on my new pants, commented that I must've gained 20 pounds since she's known me. But don't worry, she's since moved on. Consistently good service. I am always satisfied with the way my clothes are cleaned and pressed. I often wear silk/chiffon or other lightweight fragile fabrics and they always take care so they have never damaged anything. Whenever I have buckles, funny zippers, etc. they wrap them and my clothing, even hard to wash, always comes back to me as good as new. They have since relocated right around the corner on Balboa by the fire station in the Ralphs parking lot. I've been coming to this dry cleaner for a couple years now and I believe they do a great job. The price is about average for what they do and I always have a pleasant experience. Having gone for a while they usually have my account looked up and my clothes ready as I'm walking to the shop which makes it a quick in/out. For men's collar shirts they make sure to take out/insert the collar tabs to keep them crisp. They do tailoring and sewing and fix my clothes for a few dollars when a pocket breaks etc. I try to keep it to a minimum but when I need something rushed they've accommodated it so I can get a shirt or pair of pants back quicker than normal. On a rare occasion I've left work late and was going to be 5mins past closing, I gave a call and they waited the few more minutes so I could pickup my clothes (instead of having to come by early the next morning when they opened). read more

Poor service, poor communication, on cleaning directions. I told them "heavy starch" on shirts and half came back unstarched, half came back "medium starch". When I asked why, they blamed the service they use, saying it was not their responsibility, that they could not control how the shirts came out. Should have at least offered to re-do, but no. I don't think they do the best drycleaning in the world but for their prices, the drycleaning is pretty good and they have great customer service when it comes to their drycleaning and alteration services. A number of times I had some pants hemmed but if it was not done correctly, I had no hesitation to let them know and they would fix it immediately without any additional cost. The same applies to drycleaning. If a stain wasn't completely removed as requested, they would redo it until the stain was removed and at no additional cost. Maybe there'd be a little hesitancy in my request but they would always do it, gratis. read more

I feel like Crystal Cleaners has been on a steady downhill for the past couple of years but this last pickup was the last. My dry cleaning reeked of chemicals, to the point where I had to change clothes. If this was the first and only issue, I would let it slide, of course. After coming here for several years, following them from the old location, paying for my order as I drop it off (instead of when I pickup my order), the customer service is almost nonexistent. The two ladies (have not seen Robert in forever) that work here are always on the phone when I arrive and seem reluctant to place their call in a hold, sometimes not bothering to do so. Not once have these calls sounded like a work conversation but that is my own speculation. To top all of this off, while waiting for my order, behind the customer in front of me for a good 5-7 minutes, a lady rushed in and cut in front of me, not saying a word to me by either the employee or the rude customer. TERRIBLE! Ruined a $150 pair of Levi's selvedged denim as well as returned my pants with multiple untreated spots as if they hadn't even been cleaned. After following up they kept saying that they would get back to us tomorrow and the next day, and so on. After taking the initiative to either call or go there and remind them over 5 times, they finally asked that we take the pants back to Levi's ourselves and exchange them. They are lazy, dishonest, and misleading. Although the situation started off friendly, and could have remained friendly, it quickly became hostile once they repeatedly brushed us to the side.
