Nightmare scenario. Everything was good until a week after my surgery when a blood clot…read moredeveloped. I went to a Chilton Hospital, where he has privileges, at 1am. I was in so much pain they were giving me morphine all night. When they didn't see anything on the CT scan they sent me home telling me Gritsus wasn't returning their calls and I should call him if it gets worse. But the pain couldn't get any worse. I started trying to call Gritsus as soon as I got home. Like the hospital claimed, he wasn't calling me back either. At approximately 1pm, I had to be taken by ambulance to Valley Hospital. It wasn't until I was actually in Valley that his office finally called me. Gritsus told my wife that he needed to do surgery because they couldn't see anything on the CT. He claimed there wasn't an operating room available and he continued to do elective surgeries Meanwhile another doctor had to give me morphine. The doctor apologized to Gritsus for taking care of me because he didn't want to step on his toes, but he could see how much pain I was in. It wasn't until close to midnight when he got me into surgery. It turned out that I had developed gangrene in my intestines caused by a surgery related blood clot. While he denied that the blood clot was surgery related, the doctor who monitored my Coumadin informed me that my blood didn't have any clotting factors and the clot was caused by the surgery. When I was out of ICU and began to improve he told me he thought I wasn't going to make it during the surgery. Approximately a week after that surgery, I started to complain I was getting bigger. Both the nurses and Gritsus told me i was just retaining water and not to worry because it would drain. Then when I was in the bathroom water started pouring out of my stomach. While I returned to my bed I left a trail of water all the way to my bed as I screamed for help. They had to open my stomach again and reclose the wound because of the wound breaking open. While he denies it, I woke up during the surgery and I heard him saying for them to hold me down. He has a distinctive accent. Soon after I woke up I was out again. When I was finally out of the ICU and back to my room they were restricting the amount of pain medication I could have. It was every four hours and would only last for two. When I demanded to have the morphine button back, Gritsus told me it shouldn't hurt that much because I didn't have the full surgery again. When I became agitated and asked if he had ever been cut open twice in the same place he gave me my button back. Then a few days later, another doctor saw I was retaining water again and gave me a pill and I peed it all out in no time at all. That's all that had to be done to prevent my stomach from bursting open. I ended up in the hospital for two and a half weeks. Then almost three years later in January 2018, my intestines began to herniate through the wound. I returned to the Valley Hospital ER where they tried to insist on calling Gritsus. I demanded that they not call him and they ended up calling in a different surgeon who was able to repair the herniating intestines. While I chose not to sue, despite having a lawyer interested in my case, I did discover he lost one lawsuit for over a hundred thousand and settled one for 600k. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. This is what my stomach looks like now. It still looks this bad after the new surgeon cut out the huge scar Gritsus left behind. Take note of the scars from the wire like stitches Gritsus used instead of just putting in a mesh. Yes, after the wound split open the first time he never put a mesh in to make sure it wouldn't open again. It's my understanding that he still tells people he has never had a complication. Don't believe him.

She waited 30 + minutes after her appointment time before she was called from the waiting room. Upon completion of the test she was provided with a copy/explanation of the results of the test. The problem was the printer was not working well and several pages were illegible and the others of poor quality. They offered to mail us a better copy but never did. I've called 3 times, I spoke with Paula on 1/13/25 who told me she would send a legible copy. Today 3/21/25 I still haven't received the report as promised, I called again today, no answer I left a message. Needless to say we haven't been back and won't be returning. How hard is it to copy a report and mail it to the patient who paid for it? KWC, MD

So much pain, 3 ruptured discs and severely bruised by (yeah I'm a die-hard Jersey Girl) being thrown OUT of the ocean onto Belmar Beach - BOTH TIMES - crashing down onto my hip resulting in sciatic nerve damage due to piriformis muscle injury - which in turn squeezes the sciatic nerve, resulting in life altering horrific pain and with little hope after having tried out at least 4 new chiropractors and 2 rounds of physical therapy with minuscule help. After 3 years of pain management and epidural nerve blocks and 7 steroid injections - still unable to walk much - due to this fun in the sun down the shore, a neighbor saw me hobbling from the mailbox and suggested I go to see the doctor who gave her husband (owner of a landscape business) back HIS LIVELIHOOD & gave him back his LIFE! Coming in to Dr. Napoliello's office I had no confidence that anyone could help, because the pain was so overwhelming and BOY WAS I SURPRISED! I was lucky to find out that Valley Ridge Chiropractic uses a computerized traction machine, DRX9000, which gently and fluidly extends your spine - while you lay on your back, comfortable (and I'm the "only woman who falls asleep") without pain due to releasing the pressure on your vertebrae - which in turn allows your disc medium REHYDRATE from your own fluid from your spinal column! Then when you are done with this extraordinary decompression, Dr. Mike performs mixed therapies on your back/neck or where ever you are injured or hurting: ultra sound, heat or cold therapy, muscle work and of course his magic touch back & neck adjustments.
