Craig the owner is good No Nonsense ready to help. Getting your vehicle smogged is not on anyone's top 10 list but he gets you in and out quickly! read more

Highly recommend. Service was professional and quick! Craig was super helpful! I live in Brentwood and the extra 2 minute drive is SO worth it. (Supporting small businesses is a plus too) read more

Went to this shop a few times (wanted to give him a few tries as everyone is entitled to a bad day and leaving a review on a business off 1 interaction seems unfair), Craig is not friendly and likes to talk down to people. He comes across as thinking he's the smartest person in the room when he is not. You do smog checks for a living not brain surgery. I was friendly and just wanted to get my vehicle smogged without all the attitude and veiled smugness. Do better Craig, learn to accept and treat a diverse customer group well. Strongly caution you to go elsewhere if you need a smog check and skip this place entirely. If you don't believe me, go here and question Craig on anything that he'd deem to not be a "smart question" and see his reaction. Check out his reply to any of the below negative comments and his reaction = proves my point. read more

STAR certified ! Your smog check certificate will be electronically transmitted to the DMV. The service, value and quality here are all top-notch. I was able to get in and out of here in less than 15 minutes. There was no other car waiting and I went in at about 2 PM. I was also able to have a really good conversation with him afterwards about business, marketing , advertising and a host of other things. He is a great guy and I'm thankful to have him in our neighborhood. This is a single stall operation so if you come on a busy day, please be patient. My service cost me $79 out the door with taxes and any other kind of fees included, there is an option to pay cash to save about four or five dollars. This is a convenient location right across from the Chevron gas station just off of Highway 4. I hope we can drive more business here to support him. One option for improvement is that I saw there's a tire pressure check that could be performed but wasn't. I think this is an easy service to provide and could help with gas mileage in some cases. read more

Wow! Less than 15 minutes in and out! Which included opening up at 1030. Thank you for the efficient service.

Lived in Discovery Bay for 10 years and never realized he was that close and did a great job and price was very reasonable

Went for smog test got there at 11:56pm one car being tested at that time and no one else waiting. Asked owner if it was going to be possible to test mine and be outta there by 12:30pm or I would have to come back. he said yes it would be completed by then no problem. Owner is professional, time efficient/quick, and knowledgeable. He also double checks registration and vin belong to person & vehicle, which is greatly appreciated. Exceptional customer service!! Paid while other car was being tested $79. My car went in at 12:11 and I was out of there by 12:23 and passed; which certification sent directly to dmv no extra leg work on customer to do. Small local family owned business providing in & out quick quality service, highly recommend if in need of a smog inspection. read more

Craig was super helpful in getting my son's vehicle smogged and registered. The registration was complicated as it was bought through auction but he took his time and called the DMV to ensure a simple process for us the day after Christmas. So worth the additional charge to get the title transferred, registered and smogged - OMG I hate the DMV office and certain it would have taken multiple visits to accomplish what we were able to complete in 30 minutes. read more

Super easy and fast. I was probably there for less than 15min total. Craig applied the Yelp discount even though it's didn't process in the app properly. read more

Very quick process and knowledgeable on registration for out of state vehicles. Easy to access this facility and great customer service.

Fast service, reasonable promotional prices! Can't beat it. If he keeps it up, this will be our regular smog check place!

Great place and you can just Cruz on in. Fast service no waiting for a appointment. Nice guy 15 min and I was done.

Mine was not a hard one since it was the first check since new but Craig was professional, very fast, convenient and just one heck of a nice guy. I am a retired aircraft mechanic so I am a bit picky about who I will bring my cars to if I need specialty service. No hesitation in recommending Cruz in Smog Check. read more

Called all the spots in Brentwood. This place is awesome. Got the $25 off Yelp discount. My car was tested right away. Dude at front desk was professional and cool. It's nice when bar is open in parking lot but that's not their fault. Best price in town I recommend it! read more

Literally what the business name says. I came in around 1230pm needing to get a smog. I told the owner my situation how how I needed a smog and today was the only day I had to spare. The owner said no problem!!! He took me in got my information did my smog and I was out the door in literally 10 minutes. He also does dmv work and I was able to to register my car at the same time. Superrrrr convenient super fast super easy. Thank you!!! read more

$52.00 out the door and that was with a $25 coupon. There was no wait and Craig was very fast. I've been in other smog places that make you wait 30 minutes. Not if you go at 2:00 on a hot, summer day. read more

Across from Chevron in and out quickly, nice clean fast glad I choose this shop, would recommend

Great and fast service! Craig had me in and out in 15-20 mins with all DMV paper work taken care of.

The owner (Craig) is the man! I had my truck smogged here twice and he is very proficient at getting the job done. He will be honest with you about any issues found and offer advice if he can. He can also do DMV services here (i.e. registration/transfer of title), which some people find surprising. I had him do a transfer of title service for me (since I sold my truck). He got all of it done quickly and without any problems. Thank you Craig.. appreciate all your help, patience and services! read more

Craig the owner is super efficient at running his business is and very accommodating. I got my car in and out in no time. Awesome and excellent service! read more

After a 40 minute wait at A-1 smog in Brentwood just to be told sorry my equipment doesn't work, comeback tomorrow, I went to Late Shift Smog Check considering it was 4:30 and the majority of other smog check locations were closing soon. Craig was courteous, professional, and fast! He even honored a coupon from A-1. I relaxed in the small but clean and comfortable waiting area as my truck completed and passed in no time. I will continue to bring all of my vehicles here. Thanks again Craig! read more

I've brought 5 or 6 of our cars and trucks here (going in tomorrow get one of our fleet trucks snogged), always extremely friendly and helpful. I had one vehicle that I had replaced a battery on, I drove it 100 miles, brought it in and the monitors still hadn't reset. As soon as he saw that the monitors weren't all set he let me know and gave me some tips on how to get them to reset. He didn't charge me or try to up sell me for anything, just gave me some friendly tips. This is the only smog shop I would recommend locally, I've tried 3 or 4 in brentwood and none had customer service like late shift! read more

You can pay for your tags and get a smog on the same day. Only issue was I had a check engine light (O2 sensor) after the smog. I used my personal code reader to clear the error code and it never appeared again. However, very convenient and fast. read more

I have referred several collegues and friends over the past year, and they have all stated that the owner Craig Cerna has been very courteous and is doing an excellent job. They have all said that they would return when it's time for their other vehicles and would highly recommend him to their friends and family. I receive several ongoing thank you's for recommending Late Shift Smog Check. So many people have since referred going here and onto their 2nd and 3rd cars. Great Job Craig Cerna on your successful business. read more
