The finish and colors were just right and also a very durable finish. I had them build a combination section of a place to fit a range with cabinets on one side and a built in bench seating, with storage, on the other side. I added blue striped bench cushions. This made it nice to put a table in front of the benches. Basim, the owner is great to work with and understood what I wanted and designed it very well. We are enjoying it so much and would totally recommend him and his whole staff to do a great job!!

We are thrilled with our new kitchen backsplash and received five star service from Roberto at…read moreEscarlata Tile. From the time of my first contact, Roberto responded quickly and professionally to every request. He was able to come out to provide a quote late on the same day that I contacted him, and he made sure that we had enough tile to complete the job (we had purchased it almost two years ago and then procrastinated on hiring the tile installer, and we had gotten only just barely enough -- 15 subway tiles left at the end). He was prepared to discuss the schedule at that time, and it worked out that he was able to fit in our small job (with the help of his assistant) before he started work on another larger project the following week. Roberto was easy to work with throughout, texting back quickly whenever we had questions. Roberto also gave us good suggestions about the grout and schluter colors for the finish, and we love the way the finished project matches our cabinets. The work itself was very well done, as far as I can tell. I realize as I write this review that I can't compare and contract tile installers the way I would compare different restaurants. I've only ever hired one other (in the East Bay, more than a decade ago). I'm including a photo that I sent around to family to show them how beautiful it looks. As far as cost, Roberto's bid was the middle of the three quotes we received, but it was pretty close to the lowest bid. I had much greater confidence in Roberto from our interactions, so we selected his firm for the job. I will go directly to Roberto in the future if we have any tiling projects.

DO NOT HIRE!!!…read more Roberto tiled our shower and it looked beautiful initially. Then we noticed that he used brown grout to tile the top portion of our shower (to stick it to the wall). It seeped through and ruined the tile. He was literally too lazy to go to the store to get white grout. The bottom of the wall he tiled looks fine but the top portion is awful. This was clearly his mistake. I told him I'd even buy replacement tile but he needed to fix it. We haven't heard from him since. Zero integrity. Stay away!!!

While researching companies to update our kitchen we called North County Kitchens. The appointment was at 1:30 and I finally called him at 2:20 as he didn't show up or call! He had some lame excuse for not receiving the alert he made on his phone. He asked if he could come right over and we figured we would give him a chance. He is very talkative, mostly telling us what he wanted to do instead of listening to what we wanted. He was adamant about refacing our cabinets even after we clearly said we did NOT want that option. He claims to be a cabinet maker so he finally took the measurements and discussed some basic details. As he was leaving he apologized again for being late and even stated he would "make up for it with his quote"...that was on 3/13 and we have never heard from him. We are grateful we found out his work ethic before we hired him, and thankfully have hired another company that has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Do your homework and save yourself the trouble by just scrolling past his website- there are quality companies out there.

After years of…read moreprocrastination, we were awed by two kitchen remodels Andrew completed with high personal recommendations, we knew we found the right guy. My husband and I are very particular and detail oriented and Andrew listened to our wants and offered ideas resulting in a kitchen that surpassed our expectations. His wood working skills are spectacular. We opted not to change the footprint of our kitchen but removed a cooktop, double oven and built in desk, adding a range, built in microwave and additional cabinetry. The cabinet additions are a perfect, seamless blend. I love our doors and drawers, REAL WOOD not veneer! Andrew used samples of our existing flooring, new backsplash and countertop to formulate a stain and glazing that's just exquisite. The addition of the soft close and foot pedal for the trash is icing on the cake. To tie the kitchen and family room together, he also built a mantel and hearth surround for our fireplace with the same stain and details as our cabinetry... just exquisite! We (including our Great Pyrenees) loved having Andrew working in our home. He's honest, knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor and took the stress out of our remodel. I would highly recommend North County Kitchens.

Once I brought Perry Home from the hospital I think I realized just how hideous the interior of my house really was. We had already redone a bathroom but I couldn't stand the site of my yellow & brown kitchen. I turned to the app "Nextdoor "for recommendations in Marin. After about 8 interviews, my very last one in fact, happened to be Ed Roualdes. Not only was he the kindest of them all, he seemed the most professional. We started working up plans for my kitchen/dining area and before you know it dreams started becoming a reality. I think my favorite part about Ed is that he is a "yes" man. I came at Ed with new ideas all the time and throughout the entire renovation process I never heard the word No! Ed & Steve transformed my dream kitchen into a reality in just a few months! The quality of their work is flawless. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done with the future safety and well being of our 19 month old daughter. Things I never would have thought of! We've always heard that renovations can cause lots of fights and stress. Well I'm happy to report that my husband and I made it through just fine. Ed and his crew made everything pretty enjoyable and stress free from start to finish. They cleaned up everyday before leaving, which is a big thing for me. As happy as I am to have my beautiful kitchen back, I will say that we will all miss seeing Ed around here everyday. I was getting desperate to find somebody who could provide top quality cabinets in a short period of time. Serge was able to design and build almost 100 linear feet of kitchen and bathroom cabinets for my Tubbs Fire rebuild in less than month! I don't know if he can always guarantee that kind of a turnaround time, but it was truly remarkable. The workmanship and the design are second to none. He's not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for in quality. My next project for Serge is a set of custom wall-mounted bunkbeds like I have seen on his website before. He had been out about 10 months earlier to take a look at it and to give me his professional opinion. It was honest and invaluable. In fact, he suggested I ask the original contractor to fix the problem. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do it due to time and money constraints. So, I asked Daniel to return to give me an estimate and walk me through exactly what it was he was going to do and what materials he was going to use and why. This really mattered to me because the issue was about waterproofing and drainage, neither of which was working. He answered all of my many questions and explained to me his reasoning and the thinking behind what needed to be done. He and his coworker arrived on time every morning, worked diligently through the day, and left the bathroom spotless every evening. They did the entire job in five days--removed the existing shower floor tile, the bottom tow of wall tile, and the curb, redid the slope/pan, installed a new waterproof barrier, new drain system and drain and new tile and grout. They did all of this for a fair price. Now my shower floor looks beautiful and the drainage works perfectly. I could not be happier and I highly recommend Alcazar Tile.
