He also gracefully handled many unexpected challenges such as manufacturer defects which required a large delayed re-shipment. He stepped up to help us over the hurdle, taking delivery into his own hands to take some time off the schedule. He even helped calm a neighbor who had been upset about unrelated aspects of our general construction project. On the day of installation, the 2 guys that were to install the tile arrived (on time), and Jose showed up with them. I know that some people might say "It's just subway", but with the dark grout, there's really no room for error - any offset tile will catch your eye right away. Clean, organized, modern and barely a speck of dust in the entire building. I have been a victim not only of the fire, but of two unscrupulous contractors. Because of that, things fell behind schedule and tens of thousands of dollars were misappropriated. I was getting desperate to find somebody who could provide top quality cabinets in a short period of time. Serge was able to design and build almost 100 linear feet of kitchen and bathroom cabinets for my Tubbs Fire rebuild in less than month! I don't know if he can always guarantee that kind of a turnaround time, but it was truly remarkable. The workmanship and the design are second to none. He's not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for in quality. My next project for Serge is a set of custom wall-mounted bunkbeds like I have seen on his website before. GBR is amazing! Highly recommend. We upgraded our kitchen on a budget and went to GBR because we…read morewere interested in Caesarstone, but it turned out that wasn't the right solution for us. After exploring other affordable options, we almost didn't do new countertops at all; but at the last minute we found an inexpensive orphan quartzite slab that we loved at another shop. It was cheap not only because it was an orphan but also because it had some issues, including a giant fissure on the back, a deep vein on one side, and chipping along one edge. On top of that, it was on the smallish side. We took this problem to GBR. They arranged for the slab to be delivered to their shop and took very careful measurements of our kitchen. Then they did a wonderful job of talking us through all the challenges that this choice of slab brought with it -- but best of all, they suggested solutions and alternatives to make it possible to use it in our kitchen. GBR knocked it out of the park on the cutting and installation. The counters and island look perfect! They were even able to enlarge the top of the island a little from the size of the old one. We could not be happier with the results. They were a delight to work with and we will definitely work with them again if we do additional work to the house.
