We had a wonderful experience ordering delivery. We got a 1/2 & 1/2 and a pepperoni cheese for the kids. It was hot and fresh and delicious. Delivery was super quick. Will order again soon.

Pizza

Amazing Pizza! It is typically difficult to find good food on remote islands such as Edisto, but the crust station delivers. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. They also let you go half and half on the pizza which is perfect for two people sharing the same pizza with different preferences. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. 10/10 will be back.

Hey, you know what ? Several other reviews about Coot's are not fair. We tried them out at the…read morerecommendation of a local who said they have great burgers. We went at low tide. Place was modestly busy but staff were attentive. Immediately seated, server to the table within a minute and drinks to the table within a few minutes. Wifey had a hamburger, I had a cheese burger. Burgers were huge, cooked perfectly and came with pickles, slice of tomato and some lettuce. Fries were excellent, hot & crispy. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water. Perfect, although there was some competition from the birds. Highly recommend without any reservations. Would return in an instant. Our experience was superb.

We were down at the beach picking up seashells and decided we would try this place. You have to walk through a giant gift shop to get to the actual restaurant. We bought some stuff in the gift shop and used Apple Pay. Then we went on into Coots. It's a typical beach bar but very small. We sat down and waited for a while and no one ever came to take our order so my friend got up and asked the bartender if we could get some menus. Then she said she would have a waiter come over and take our order. A guy finally came and we ordered waters with lemon. He came back with two bottles of food lion brand water and little cups with ice. My friend asked if they have tapwater and he said no they only do bottled water and she asked how much it was and he said $2.50. We were not happy about that. Finally I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and also jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and my friend ordered the shrimp plate with fries. They brought out her food in a little square fry box and you couldn't even see the shrimp. It looked like it was only fries. The shrimp were so tiny it was pitiful. My friend was very disappointed. My food was better. The buffalo chicken wrap was enormous, and it was delicious. I am very picky about fries and their fries were amazing and the jalapeño poppers were too. I ended up splitting my buffalo chicken wrap with my friend because her shrimp were just gross and they were so tiny. It was ridiculous. Then our waiter disappeared forever and we were waiting there for over 30 minutes to get our check. My friend went back to the bar and asked the bartender if we could get our check and they had to go find the waiter and then he finally came back to the table. Then we told him to split the check and we have Apple Pay. He said oh I don't know where you're from but we don't take tap to pay here. We said that's funny because we just used it in the gift shop that is literally part of the building!!! And we also just bought gas using tap to pay across the street! It was actually kind of embarrassing because we had to go to my car and then dig through all of our stuff to find enough cash to pay our bill because all we is tap to pay on our phones... Needless to say we will never be back.

Ordering was quick and easy with no issues at all. When we arrived, we waited a short bit at the bar while the food was being prepared, but nothing too bad. Overall, the food was pretty good! The crab bisque was delicious and definitely one of my favorite things we ordered. The crab cake was tasty too, although it was a little more breaded than I personally prefer. The fried stuffed bacon-wrapped shrimp was probably the biggest disappointment of the meal, but not terrible. My friend enjoyed her food she ordered, though I can't remember the exact name of it. Service was decent -- nothing over-the-top amazing, but the staff wasn't rude either, so I'll take it! Overall, I'd give Whaley's about a 3.5 to 4-star experience. I'd probably go back, and if you're in the area looking for a convenient seafood spot near the beach, I'd say give them a shot!

(This is considered the early side of Spring Break.) Adair was our server, and was prompt and friendly! He was all we could have wanted in an efficient server. I was disappointed that the only water they served was bottled. Therefore, Pinot Grigio it was!!!! We received drink orders promptly and Adair asked for our food orders. We were an easy group. Two shrimp baskets with raw fries (which to the unaware are house made chips), a Fried flounder basket with regular fries, and two kids cheeseburgers, with regular fries. The seafood orders also come with slaw and hush puppies. Later, Adair told us they were out of hush puppies. Adair went the extra mile and brought me a bottled water due to HIS perceived wait for our food. The fried shrimp were "gulf size" and perfectly cooked! Breading was light and not overdone! The founder was tender and flaky, the cole slaw was not of the "food processor" variety, and the fries were good, (crinkle cut). This was a very good "family trip" restaurant stop. We generally cook every night, this restaurant needed to provide the "shrimp" cravings of two of us! We will return on future visits!!! This is a place that has been around since 1948. Just know the venue is in an old gas station which suited me!!!! My daddy was a Gulf oil dealer in the 60's-1980's. Enjoy!

We were lucky to get a corner table with two views of the water and dockside boats. Wifey ordered the blackened salmon with green beans and a baked potato. Salmon was prepared perfectly with ample slices. Sides were a little disappointing. Beans were canned and potato was medium in size. Server recommended the stuffed flounder for me. It consisted of a modest slab of flounder topped with crab meat and covered with shrimp scampi sauce. Flavor was good, but price was steep. Came with canned green beans and cole slaw. Beans had a Smokey taste. Would return for another visit. View was excellent and server was very attentive. It was Sunday night with live music on the dock. Beautiful setting for a meal.

The upstairs and patio we're both open and since it was a little chilly decided to eat inside. The place was really busy. We were greeted right away and seated near the window. The interior was nothing special and similar to most Coastal bars. I ordered the Edistini which is a very dirty martini. It was a little too dirty for me (heavy on olive juice). I got a cup of the she crab soup which was good but the same time there were cold pieces of crab. Not sure that's how it's supposed to be served but it was good. We ordered the fried shrimp platter dinner. The two of us shared it and I was surprised that it's quite a bit of a large order and the shrimp were a good size. Other places I've gone in the island have been tiny shrimps. Typically, I am known to eat a portion made for two so I was impressed with the size of the shrimp and that meal filled up the two of us. I recommend giving it a try.

Anyone who's stayed on either Seabrook or Kiawah Island is most likely intimately familiar with this Harris Teeter. On many visits, we've found this store to be relatively well-stocked. However, the week before Easter was definitely a busy one for this store, and they were cleaned out of a lot of their typical offerings. For example, their take-and-bake pizzas are an easy and decent dinner after a day at the beach, but to our surprise, there were none left when we stopped in around 5 PM on a Wednesday. I'm confident that this not a regular occurrence - but something to note if you're visiting during the busy season. I will echo other reviewers that mentioned narrow aisles and an interesting layout. This store is definitely on the smaller side, and can feel crowded when there's multiple people in one aisle. One way to avoid this is shopping outside of peak hours ... early in the morning our later at night. The cashiers are mostly friendly and always fast. If you come from a state with Kroger or Fry's instead of Harris Teeter, rest assured that you can still input your phone number for your shopper rewards. Another positive is that I haven't noticed a difference in prices from this store and non-touristy grocery stores. Again, it does the trick for being the only grocery store at Freshfields. However, it could certainly use a little love and a few updates.
