Anytime I go to Folly Beach, stopping at Rita's is a must -- either before or after the beach. The energy inside is always fun and laid-back, and everyone is genuinely so nice every single time. The food is always so good. My go-to order is the shrimp po' boy, and their chili is surprisingly one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with a mimosa, but their signature crush cocktails are also a must-try and perfect for a Folly day. Great vibes, great food, and a spot I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm on the island.

Seaside restaurant right next to Folly Beach pier. Great food. Friendly service. Casual relax atmosphere. Conveniently located by beach. The shrimp sandwich I had was really tasty. I would order that again.

Stopped at Rita's after a four‑mile "death march" masquerading as our morning walk. By the time we hit we're back at Arctic we were both starved enough to chew on a beach chair. We were sat in under a minute, and the waitress hit the table with coffee before we could pretend to study the menu. Less than ten minutes later we had our order and drinks, which is about the time my legs remembered how to work again. Food was well prepared and appropriately seasoned, the kind of breakfast that makes you briefly believe in cardio. Great breakfast on Folly Beach, where the grits are real and the tourists are optional. Highly recommended, especially if you've earned it the hard way. Beach decor and lots of televisions abound.

It was a really good breakfast. Eggs, bacon, biscuit and grits. The biscuit was tasty even if more thick than fluffy. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The grits were real ... had a very creamy consistency and good flavor. The service was fast and friendly. The location is convenient to the beach and hotels .. quick walk.

Went here today after spending our day at the Angel Oak tree and the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. After walking on the Folly Beach Pier we went straight into the Rita's Seaside Grille and had an early dinner. The place is really nice and the staff was welcoming and very attentive. We were really happy that they had so many choices for vegetarian food on the menu and even have marked them. We were sitting outside where they also had life music. We immediately got iced water and then our order was taken. We ordered for drinks Ginger Ale, Pina Colada, and two non alcoholic Heineken. Further we ordered the Veggie Sandwich, twice the Seafood Tacos and the Chicken Wings with fries. The Tacos came also with fries. In total we paid $110.95, which is absolutely fine. We very enjoyed our dinner and give 5 well deserved stars. Would we come again? Definitely yes.

The shrimp and grits were excellent! In the heart of downtown Folly, Rita's is in a high traffic area, but worth the stop. Our kids didn't enjoy their kids meals, but to be fair, you don't go to a seafood restaurant and order Mac n cheese or a burger, right?! The shrimp and grits and the tacos were wonderful! The service was great. The whole ambiance of the place was really fun and "beachy"!

Delicious. Great Service. Feels like it's been here forever (in a good way). Live music and space to stay and hangout

Great location, lots of seating, diverse menu, great staff (the older gentleman in charge of our table was wonderful), and willing to accommodate food allergies. Ordered the prickly pickle Bloody Mary (delicious and well worth it!) and smoked turkey melt (minus cheese and had the onions, bread, etc, sautéed in oil instead of butter). Was such a great experience and a good blend of locals and tourists. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

so so so good omg!!! i got the diablo mussels and oysters on the half shell and finished it ALL not a drop was left. Everything was so good and the mussels were deliciously seasoned. I went back a second time by myself and sat at the bar to get some oysters and the bar staff was good, everyone was so nice and welcoming and the atmosphere was very beach restaurant but also nice inside. Only bad thing was my sisters order was wrong (gave her fried tenders instead of grilled) and by the time they fixed it (20+ min) we were all done with our meals. Overall i highly recommend them.

    Shrimp & fish taco yuck!

The shrimp & fish taco were gross, so salty & the shrimp were the little popcorn shrimp over cooked and very chewy

Lived my dining experience at Rita's! Came here with a group of 7 girls and a reservation is highly recommended. The place has indoor and outdoor seating available - we saw some cute pups dining outside which is always a nice treat. Large menu and hard to choose but settled on the tomato and Burrata salad which was good; big enough to share with 2-3 people. My table chose a lot of good dishes but I settled in with the shrimp and grits dish which was excellent; great portion and filling! Our server was a little disappointing and forgot a few things and forgot to put in one of my friend's dishes which was disappointing but the overall meal was one of the better ones we had that weekend.

Love these cool beach vibes. Cold brew coffee was incredible. The cocktail list for brunch is outstanding, the dreamsicle crush was perfect, and the shrimp and grits too notch! Great service too, great charm.

What a fun place! Live music, super friendly staff and delish food! I sat bar side for dinner and ordered a simple margarita and the nachos. Decided on the ahi tuna for my protein and they were really great! The pineapple salsa was fresh and chunky. There was so many pieces of tuna and it was a huge portion! Just a block from the beach and the hotel I stayed at. Def recommend!

I repeat. STEAMED OYSTERS. I don't know why anyone will visit this place after 4pm (it's only available then) and not order the steamed oysters. $30 for probably 30-40 the freshest, sweetest oysters you can get. Now, you have to shuck them yourselves and they vary in size. But it's part of the fun, and they're just so, so good. The seafood platter for $33 is a steal too - excellently fried flounder, fresh firmed not-overcooked shrimp, some of the best hush puppies too. - Atmosphere: chill, coastal, laid-back. Live music on Wednesday adding to the vibe. - Environment: hole in the wall. Some comments said it's dirty - it's really not. It's not a fine dining establishment but it's honestly much cleaner than a lot of the ocean shacks I've been to. - Service: yes it's a lot of self-service (you kind of have to clean the table too) and probably not worth 20% tip. But everyone is friendly Anyway, there are a lot of good restaurants in Charleston. But this is the most unique experience. My no.1 recommendation if someone asks.

But luckily I was craving seafood when I left Hyams, so I decided to to give CudaCo a shot. As soon as you walk in the door, you can tell it's not your typical seafood market. There's a room of wines for sale, beer, and a few dining tables. Then there's the fresh catch display case... And I must say, their selection is consistently great. The quality and freshness is top notch. And they usually have some hard to find fresh catch. What makes CudaCo stand out from other markets is that you can pick your desired catch from the display case and then have them cook it to your liking. Everything that I've had was literally foot stomping good. And to add to that, they also offer frozen seafood, premade dips, and many other items in the freezer section. Was prob the worst fried flounder I've ever had, to be completely honest. But that's not why I give this place such a low rating. It's the service. Both times I've been here - the first time to eat there and the second time to just buy some fresh fish to cook at home - the people who worked there have been borderline rude. Maybe rude is the wrong word. Personality-less might be a better descriptor. There was a major vibe of - "what do you want...because you're bothering me..." if that makes sense. Contrast that with Crosby's down the road (heading towards Folly Beach on the right) and the difference is STARK. Crosby's people are *always* so nice and helpful. Can't tell you how many times I've struck up a conversation about what I was buying and how I was planning to cook it at Crosby's. CudaCo, on the other hand, is cold and their staff seems completely indifferent about their customers. It's why I never go there anymore and I tell everyone I know to avoid it like the plague. Bottom line, save your time and money and go to Crosby's instead. Life's too short to be treated the way CudaCo treats their customers.

Again...it was good...not great. I cook way better salmon at home on a cedar plank over real charcoal, so maybe I'm being unfair here? I dunno. The salad itself was heavy on arugula, which I'm not a huge fan of. Which is odd, because I love the flavor of pepper! Anyway, the menu made it sound like it was more fennel-oriented, so... Ended up capping off the meal with the blackberry key lime pie. It was quite tasty. Not the best key lime pie I've ever had, but good. As to the atmosphere, it's nice. My girlfriend has actually convinced me several times that we shouldn't come here because we weren't dressed well enough. Well, let me just say: I saw several guys here wearing jeans, fishing shirts, and ball caps and they fit right in. So: not stuffy at all! Bottom line, it's a good, not great place to grab a meal. I love that it's off the beaten path (i.e., not close to Folly Road). Will def come back with my girlfriend next time. Might try the swordfish or maybe the meatballs next time.

My husband really enjoyed them (this trip was mostly for him!), but they were a little spicy for me. I ended up getting a Caesar salad with fried crawfish tails instead, and it was huge--I only made it through about half. We also got margaritas during happy hour--both were really good. I had the lychee margarita, and my husband got the mango with a Cajun rim. Service was very good--our waiter was attentive and friendly. The only small downside was that we did feel a little rushed. It does say on the menu that they ask guests not to stay longer than 1.5 hours, so just something to keep in mind. They are pet-friendly, and we sat outside. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the tables had umbrellas, which was nice. The only other thing we weren't thrilled about was the credit card surcharge--it was around 3-3.5%, which feels a bit high, especially since most people don't carry cash anymore.
