Did Crunchik'n satisfy my craving for greasy food? Yes. Would I order from here again? Probably not. I placed my order through their website and it was ready in about 10-15 mins. When I arrived, my food was in a brown paper bag behind the counter. The employee acknowledged me and was friendly. When I sat down to enjoy my food, I noticed there wasn't much sauce on my popcorn tofu. I'm not sure if the tofu just absorbed the sauce from sitting in the container but I was expecting it to be saucier. The flavor of the sauce wasn't too prominent. French fries were good. Regular small size was definitely enough for me. I liked how crunchy they were despite being lukewarm. No napkins or utensils were provided for a to-go order, which could be off putting for those who are enjoying their food somewhere other than their home/office.
This place is so good!! Stopped here for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed at all! The beef bulgogi and popcorn chicken rice bowls were so good! Super filling and filled with flavor! Might have to go back a second day in a row just to get some more!
Hotdog + cheese crunch dog + hot Cheetos topping. First off .. great cheese pull! I always forget how filling one of these can be. I like that it was cheese, hot dog, a bit more cheese, then hot dog. Not just cheese then hot dog cause I miss the cheese by the time I'm at the bottom. Crunchball - the sauce that came with it was so good! Dipped some of my hot dog in it. The beef inside the ball was soft, moist, and flavorful. Personally not my type of favor so I wouldn't get it again but I can see others enjoying it. I wanted to also get the kid size popcorn chicken that was on the menu on the wall but not available on the ordering machine. Not sure if they got rid of that. Was a bit confusing.
My coworker and I came here for lunch after hearing a lot of good things about the restaurant. I think the hype was a bit much for what we got. The smallish restaurant with seating for about 25 in the back has you come in and through a small gauntlet to two ordering kiosks. There are menus posted above, but you have to navigate the somewhat difficult menu to place your orders. If you've never been here and have to study what's available, then you're just backing up the line. Eventually, my friend and I chose two teas (honeydew and strawberry, one with boba) and they charge more for little or no ice per drink. For food, I got a fried chicken combo with 3 wings, 3 pot stickers, and noodles. I chose the sweet chili sauce for the wings. My friend chose the chicken tenders without sauce and regular French fries. After paying via credit card only about $31, we sat down and waited. The food came out in a decent amount of time. I should have gone with sauce on the side as the wings were messy. But they were huge and meaty, cooked wonderfully, and I really liked them. The noodles were bland, and the pot stickers overcooked resulting in difficult to chew noodle exteriors. The chicken insides were good. My friend's meal had some of the crunchiest and tastiest French fries she's ever had, and the tenders were also overcooked being very difficult to bite and chew. The coating was ok but not spectacular. The teas were also just ok. I've had better. Maybe I'd like the actual fried chicken pieces better without sauces on them but a basket of the chicken was very expensive. Overall, some positivity and too much negative to give any more than 3 stars today.
The location isn't difficult to find when you're walking and have a map with you. The ordering station is farther back into the restaurant. It was easy to do in the kiosk. We waited for our order to do take our. But there were a handful of tables to sit and dine in. Food was packaged fairly well though our "dog" ended up vertical so the sauce was a little messy when we got back to eat it. We ordered beef hotdog with cheese, crunch ball beef, and small tenders. They ran out of potatoes so we did not get to try this on our hotdog. I enjoyed each item, they were all fried and but fried well. My least favorite was the crunchball. Though it was crunchy on the outside, the texture inside wasn't my favorite--though I did like the kimchee addition. I liked that the hotdog with cheese had cheese throughout, I've had some that would be either or--you'd get a bite of just hotdog or just cheese. And it did produce a pretty good cheese pull. The tenders were also pretty good. There are so many sauce options but we went with Korean bbq.
Wow , just WOW ! Bonchon finally found some competition! I didn't think I could find any other place to rival the Korean fried chicken I have had at Bonchon but this place is on par if not better than the famed award winning Korean fried chicken chain which I have been frequenting for almost 4 years now. Crunchik'n serves a nice variety of Korean dishes such as bulgogi, japchae noodles, and of course spicy kimchi along with sandwiches. They have fried tofu for the ubiquitous vegetarians and vegans here in Philadelphia too. The deep fried dumplings which I added on to my Popcorn Chicken Rice Bowl were to die for! So delicious , they are a must have with every meal. If you love Korean cuisine and/or fried chicken this little spot will not disappoint you.
Went there for lunch today and I got the bulgogi sandwich and a veggies crunch ball. It took awhile for the food to be ready. We waited about 25 minutes. It's all worth it though because the sandwich is delicious. However, I don't really like the crunch ball much, it tasted a bit sour. I think the beef one is probably better, but they didn't have any that day. Inside is kinda small and it can get hot pretty fast, because the kitchen is right there cooking and frying chickens. I recommended call or order online ahead for pick up. Overall is pretty good. Will come back for their Korean fried chicken next time!
I looooove crunchik'n. If you like Korean fried chicken you will too. I've had their popcorn chicken several times and it's always A+. A large order is plenty for two hungry eaters. This was my first time having the corn dog (with hot cheetos!!) and it was great. I can't say enough great things about this place. I love it.
FOOD I ordered the regular sweet chili popcorn chicken, and it was about $10-11. It was quite flavorful, and the spice was mild. The food was quick, comfort food, and definitely a good stop for Korean-styled dishes near the Jefferson/Penn areas, but I wouldn't say it amazed. SERVICE I ordered up front and received my order in 20-25 minutes. The staff were friendly as well. AMBIANCE Thre are several tables for seating inside the restaurant-- 2-3 two-seater tables and 2-3 four-seater tables. The interior can be a little gloomy though, but the typical option here is takeout rather than seated dining. PARKING Street parking is available but is very limited. Most guests walk to the restaurant and pick up their orders.
I ordered delivery from Crunchik'n for National chicken wing day. It did live up to its name. The Korean wings were cooked well with a nice audible crunch. The BBQ sauce on it wasn't the best. I also ordered chicken dumplings, and they were delicious. Don't sleep on those dumplings. They are better than what u will find elsewhere, while you can find better wings. Overall, I was happy I ordered delivery from Crunchik'n.
Delicious guilty pleasure! We try to limit ourselves to only get Korean fried chicken once a month because they are so good yet so guilty! There's a KFC place we love up north but crunchik'n turns out to be just as good. Their KFC is more airy than others I've had... which is not a bad thing as it feels more light to eat even though the breading on here is insane. We got the 10 piece chicken with soy garlic and snow cheese (extras $1 or $2 can't remember). I think soy garlic is still my favorite KFC sauce but the snow cheese was a nice change as it's more of a dry rub. We also got the vegetable and beef crunch ball. The beef one was definitely better and more flavorful... the sauce that comes with it is a little spicy. I'm not sure if the one single crunch ball was worth the $4. It was fun to try but I don't think I'd get it again. It's basically cheese, rice, and kimchi or beef mixed into a ball shaped and deep fried. Will be coming here for our future cravings! The only downside about this place is they don't give you the complimentary pickled daikon most Korean fried chicken places give you with your KFC. Also side note: we got this delivered and it still tasted amazing!
Wow!!! 5 stars for food, service, and overall happy eating!! I was very pleased with my experience at Crunchik'n and everything was delicious. I personally recommend the fried chicken and the crunchdogs!
Just okay for me. We got the chicken fingers which were dry white meat. The soy honey sauce was sweet but a bit one-note, could have used some garlic. On the plus side, the outside was crisp and definitely crunchy. The price was a dollar more than listed on the menu.. Service was good. The table next to us had the wings which looked much better. Would try those next time.

Been going to this place for lunch on the weekdays. Service is great on top of simple, but very tasty selections of food. May I suggest trying the rice bowl with garlic soy sauce and a bubble tea on the side! Im always in a rush and forget to take pictures of my order (maybe next time--- if I remember) read more
We walked over the dirty threshold to this establishment and that should have been my first clue to turn around. Yelp you did me wrong as I saw the high 4.6 rating and thought I would give it try. There were only a few tables past the counter to eat. The tables were clean. Only plastic forks and plastic straws were offered. We were greeted by a friendly lady behind the counter who helped pick us something to eat. We ordered the rice bowl with beef bulgogi and the 8 piece Korean chicken tenders. The rice was good but the beef bulgogi was not flavorful. The Korean chicken was not crunchy and the sauce was ok. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone who is looking for Korean fried chicken. read more
The food here is solid for the price! The combos offer a good variety, the sides are always bright with notes of sweet/sour/umami to compliment the deep fried items. Several decent sauces, too, but they definitely feel "manufactured." Service it isn't the fastest and the interior isn't the most welcoming, but overall I the food is satisfying, crunchy, and served nice and hot! read more

I stopped by on the way home from happy hour because I was still hungry. I ended up getting the small popcorn tofu rice bowl and it was very filling. It is a great amount of food, and I imagine the large is almost enough for two meals. The staff were very nice and had helpful recommendations. It is a smaller space but not too crowded so usually does not seem to be a problem. read more
The food was so so. The best part, the crunch of the chicken. Little pricey so save your coins. If you're in a rush, don't walk in and order, you better call. They make your food fresh so I waited 15-20 minutes. The guy at the cashier was very pleasant and courteous. I would go there again and try a rice bowl so stay tuned ! read more

Stopped by for a quick dinner while I was in town under my friend's recommendation. The chicken was well seasoned and the bowl was a good size with a lot of vegetables, which I love. The kimchi and japchae noodles were a bit bland. Overall, the bowl was nothing to write home about but got the job done. It was a lot of food for a good price. I would come back to try a Korean corn dog! read more

Tried this spot for lunch and everything was delicious! We ordered the beef crunchballs, sweet chili popcorn chicken, and the crunch dog with ketchup, sugar, spicy mayo, half cheese, half hotdog. The crunch on their fried foods is so addicting and actually crunchy. Their chicken has a softer texture but still yummy. The beef crunchballs are so soft and flavorful with beef and rice alongside a spicy mayo and nice hint of spice. We enjoyed the quick service and the great food. Ordered two sets of 10 wings - 10 honey soy and 10 sweet chili. Wings were well fried, but weren't as saucy. Super crispy on the outside and juicy/tender on the inside!! They were sizable wings, making it actually hard to finish all 10 wings in one sitting! The kimchi cheese fries had a great balance between the cheese and kimchi. The kimchi has a nice kick to it, but isn't too overpowering! At first I thought there wasn't enough cheese for the amount of fries, but there was plenty left. It's a very unique item on their menu, and it works very well! The peach bubble tea (which is more juice-like) was very delicious and the taro (which is more milky) wasn't too sweet. The tapioca was soft as well! The price of the wings is doable especially due to the large size of the wings! Doesn't leave you with the lingering thought of, "why is korean fried chicken so overpriced?" I'm very sad I couldn't dine in and meet the owners that I've heard so many great things about. Hope to do so after covid19 ends! Service-wise, the restaurant took covid19 seriously and was very organized in how they operated. They added a choco-pie with our order which was very thoughtful and sweet! Different cheesesteak #1030 in the last four years. It was Tuesday. I was with amigo Dan. We got the Bulgogi Beef Melt Sandwich. I can see why most people love Crunchik'n but it was a miss for us. The meat was dry and on the tough side. Maybe it was a bad batch. Everything else was very good. Nice traditional Philly cheesesteak roll. The Pickled veggies added great flavor. read more
Amazing food as always. Although the japchae for the side was bland, so i suggest eating that with the fried chicken. Korean Corn dogs are delicious and this store was the first to introduce them to philly. Must try spot and they are constantly expanding their menu read more
How have I missed the joys of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) all my life. Stand back, Satan. It's time to indulge. I popped in after work and opted for a rice bowl with KF popcorn chicken. Here's what you got: A medium sized bowl that had multi layers of about six nice chunks of fried chicken pieces, about thumb sized, hot jasmine rice, a kind of pico de gallo (tomatoes and onions, I think), lettuce (SO IT'S HEALTHY PEOPLE, SHUT UP) jap chae (WHUT) and one fun dumpling. It was around $10 or $11 and quite filling. I chose the sweet chili sauce. Probably next time I might ask them to do it on the side or just a light drizzle for my personal preference. It did take a few minutes until it was ready. Next time I might order ahead but really, it wasn't too bad of a wait. Can't wait to come again. read more
This relative new-comer to the area made a good impression at our first visit. We ordered honey soy and sweet chili Korean fried wings, chicken and pork dumplings and "kimchi" fries. We wanted the crunch ball, but it wasn't listed on the self ordering screens. We later learned that they are still on the menu, but were removed from the touchscreen ordering system. Huh? Why? Anyway, the double fried wings were freshly made, crunchy and flavorful. The dumplings were crispy. The pork ones were underwhelming due to their lack of flavor, while the chicken version were very good-they were seasoned well and had the perfect protein to veg ratio in the crispy shell. I put " kimchi " in quotes for the fries because... it didn't taste kimchi-ish. The fries were hot, crispy and very tasty, but we decided that "spicy cheese fries" would be a better description than the current name. We had a delicious meal, but needed a bit of relief (maybe from some fresh veg or acidity) from all the fried food, near the end of the meal. The grapefruit sparkling drink was VERY tart, très grapefruity. Cut through the fried stuff a bit. The staff was very friendly, and the digs accommodate a decent amount of tables with a good amount of space between them. Wish the crunch ball had shown up on the self ordering system. came by for lunch on a weekday and there was ample seating for you to sit and enjoy your food so my friend and i got a table. Bulgogi Sandwich: this was good and tasty! lots of vegetables, meat and good flavors. Wings: we got the soy garlic and the korean bbq. they were very weirdly similar so i wouldn't recommend getting both but they were tasty! definitely crispy but not as meaty as i like it (i'm used to the meaty korean wings at soho cafe) Rice ball: this was OK. the concept is great but the textures of the crispy outside and the soggy rice inside wasn't the best together. i love cozy day's rice balls; they're wrapped in seaweed, i wish they would try to make those here! so yummy overall i give this place a 3.6/5 service was good and came out pretty quickly! read more

Found Crunchik'n last year and fell in love with them! CRUNCH DOGS: There's so many great options here and literally the only spot with KOREAN CORNDOGS!!! I love the one with mini potatoes sitting on the corn dog and sugar!! All their corndogs w/ hotdogs are made with 100% beef. SPICY TUNA RICE BOWL: My favorite rice bowl there! Everything on the bowl perfectly compliments each other and it is filling for a quick lunch. KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN: You already know its 5/5, favorite flavor is the classic honey soy! Came here for lunch. Small business with dine-in option. You have the option to order your food via monitor or in person. I got the Korean corn dog with hot dog, cheese, potatoes, topped with sugar and spicy mayo. I was skeptical about having sugar with hot dog but this is a game changer. The first time I had it, the cheese was melted to perfection. However, the second time around, the mozzarella cheese wasn't fully melted. Nonetheless both times were still delicious. Didn't get to try the popcorn chicken or other stuff on the menu but will definitely return. read more
We r loading in Hamilton next door and saw this place this morning. Woo hoo. Love Korean food. Sent hubby for two mango Boba and he came back with bulgogi bowl with extra Kimchee. Omg... so glad he went. The small bowl was plenty for us two. And the kimche was super pickly and not too spicy and verrrrry crunchy. Perfect!! Ok now is lunch/dinner time and a lot of the crew is in here for eats!! This time we got wings. Some spicy hot chili and some soy honey. Oh ya...2 sides of their great Kimchee. Wings were awesome as well. And LOVE their Kimchee. read more

I got a large spicy tuna bowl, a large beef bowl and a crunch ball for $33. They definitely increased their prices. The spicy tuna bowl was really good and they did give a lot of food. My favorite in the order was the crunch ball. I actually ordered a vegetarian one and they gave me a beef. read more
