I tried the Potato Mozzarella dog and the Cheddar Hotdog. They were both... fine. It's fried cheese and meat on a stick, so it's hard to make that horrible. However, I also wouldn't call it a super unique culinary experience. It would probably be excellent late-night-tipsy food (which their location in Dinkytown probably lends itself well to). We went at lunch time during the summer, and we had to wait on a long line in the sun before we were able to order. The dogs come in boats, and you can pick from a long list of sauces to go with your deep-fried food. We took ours across the street to eat in the park, which was nice, since the inside of the space is very tiny. CrunCheese is undeniably popular, but having tried it once, I am not in a hurry to go back.

These corn dogs are insane, you can get anything customized on them. They are perfect for filling your hunger anytime of day!!!

This is such an incredible snack place!! Got a potato mozzarella corn dog. The corndog was so sweet and crunchy, and the perfect balance of sweetly savory!! The service is pretty fast and I appreciate the quaint in and out type of place. It's so fun to be able to see the corndogs being made behind-the-scenes as well.!!

Not sure why folks have so many bad reviews about CrunCheese, you get exactly what you come for and it's pretty affordable, these aren't your average every day corn dogs, most come with the option to get potato's on the outside of the corn dog, which adds an extra textural component. They also have a handful of sauces and powders to add after the fact. I've been to this location about twice now and each time have left feeling satisfied. CrunCheese was my first time trying Korean corn dogs and the cheese pulls for instagram and social media are unmatched! I've tried just about each one except for the squid ink one, they even have sweet potato options, you can get a classic corn dog or you can be extra and try it all. Options are pretty endless for such a small shop! Everything is under $10 and just one regular corn dog with potato's and sauce is more than enough for one person. It's fun to go with friends to try the lot though!

I love going back here time and time again. The Korean corn dogs are always consistently delicious. The sauce choices they have available pair really well with the corn dogs. The corn dogs are always fresh and have a wonderful flavor with a great texture between the crunchy outside and the cheesy inside. Always a favorite place

Mozzarella deep fried with potatoes- delicious plain but I would love to try a sauce on this next time!

I have seen Korean hotdogs allll over the internet for awhile and decided it was time to try it! First, this is the Minneapolis location and parking is a total pain!! I finally parked several blocks away so I wouldn't have to pay for parking. This is the college campus area so lots of people! This is a small corner place and there really is only enough space to order. The service here was fantastic! Everyone was so nice! I would come back for the service alone, but let's talk food! The cheese pull on these is insane! It is sooo good! Their are a a lot of different combos you can do as well as a bunch of different sauces/spices! This is such a good street food/ snack! There is no seating inside, so I took my food right outside since it was a gorgeous day! It's crunchy, cheesy, saucy... it's just hits so many points in what you would be looking for in a good salty snack. Between the service and the impressive cheese pull while eating, I would happy park even further to get these! Definitely worth trying if you haven't had these yet!

The potato mozzarella corn dog with a hot sauce and honey mustard drizzle was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the inside. The inside of the store was nothing special and it was small.

Delicious Korean corndogs, with lots of options/variations on the menu. It's a really tiny storefront, it was a little crowded with only us and two other people waiting for their food. It felt like it took a little long for our order to be ready, but they're frying it fresh which is nice. There is a worker. Who does the sauces for you, I wish we could have maybe controlled how much was put on. I loved the one I got, which was mozzarella and potatoes, drizzled with sweet chili sauce.

The service is fast and the employees are friendly. The food is okay. I've always wanted to try a cheese dog stick like in Korea so I'm glad I could try it. But it wasn't anything crazy.

I have been waiting to try these hot dogs, and happen to be on campus for a game and stopped in! It's obvious by the location that this is just a quick place to pop in. It's really just a small kitchen where they added a TV menu and electric payment kiosk. Although it wouldn't be my cup of tea, I think it's perfect for a college campus. We came in late on a Thursday and the staff were all very kind! We were talking to them about the restaurant and joking that they should stay open later for the drunk college kids. I ordered the mozzarella hot dog with potato on the outside. I loved the mozzarella half, but the hot dog was not good. Very cheap and not tasty. I was also surprised that it wasn't cheese around the hot dog, it was half cheese half hot dog. I loved the sweet chili sauce, and even had a hard time choosing what sauce to put on top! Overall, I'm definitely glad I tried this - but I probably won't be back. It's a good late-night drunk food if I got the all cheese.

CrunCheese "hotdogs" are like a corn dog on steroids. I was impressed by how perfectly they were fried and the many batter and sauce options to jazz them up. The menu looks small: fillings (hot dog, cheddar cheese, or mozzarella cheese) that are on sticks that will be dipped in a batter (panko, panko with squid ink, or panko with small French fried potatoes). Then a dozen sauces are available to be drizzled across the top. But this makes more combinations that you think! You can mix and match the fillings (can put two on a stick, like half hot dog and half cheddar) and also top it with one or more sauces at the end. After a small bout of analysis paralysis, I settled on a hotdog with French fry batter and a half mozzarella/half cheddar one. They are fried to order so the resulting treats were hot with tender and crisp coatings and gooey cheesy fillings. I can't wait to try a new creation next time!

I've been waiting for a Korean hotdog spot to open up in the Twin Cities and had to give it a try. They didn't list their hours anyway (not on Google maps and on their website). Thought I would go in the afternoon to hopefully avoid any lines, but learned that their soft opening hours are from 3pm - 10pm. I decided to wait ~1.5 hours for the place to open and stood in line about 15 minutes before they opened. I would say I waited around 30 minutes in line for my order to be placed and around 15 minutes for my order to come out. You can choose which sauce to put on the hotdogs which is such a nice touch. You can also get them coated in sugar or cheese powder for extra flavor. Original: 6/10 - it was a solid choice but nothing special Squid Ink: 7/10 - cute presentation but is basically the same as the regular hotdog Mozza & Hotdog: 8/10 - you get both cheese & hotdog. This is one of their bestsellers and you can't go wrong with it Potato Mozza & Hotdog: 9/10 - the best one imo! Really love the potatoes and how crispy it is Overall, it was definitely not worth the ~2.5 hours but absolutely worth a try! As someone who lives outside of Minneapolis, it's an inconvenient drive but will make a pit stop here when I'm in Dinkytown!!

Cheese and a potato and sausage- wrong order

This place is giving me big MEH vibes. Korean hotdogs are a staple across several countries right now. Finally become a little more popular in the states, CrunCheese is the first in the area to be serving these up. We waited months for this place to open, once they opened it still said/says temporarily closed on the Google page. But while grabbing a boba we noticed the line out the door and the lights on so we went. First thing you should know is you're going to be waiting. We've had Korean hotdogs before and knew we'd be waiting but plan to wait at least 20 minutes especially with it being new. We ordered six, yes SIX hotdogs. Four with a meat and two vegetarian. We wanted to order lemonade but they were out. We got our order about ten minutes after they said we would and confirmed how to tell the difference between meat and vegetarian. They're supposed to color mark the bottom of the stick. Once we got home I took a huge bite only to find sausage in my vegetarian hotdog. Major bummer since I don't eat meat. It's a pretty Penny to be outright disappointed and not be able to partake with everyone else eating. It was awkward. We certainly weren't going to drive 15 Minutes back just to wait another 25 minutes. Overall I wasn't impressed. It's starting to feel like they opened prematurely and should have worked out their kinks beforehand. Would I go back? Maybe. But not sure I can trust I'll be getting what I ordered.

Made to order which is great, but in the end I found the ratio of hot dog to dough to low and the overall flavor fairly bland.

Finer Meats is located right off the intersection of 38th/Nicollet Ave. They're two stores down from Nighthawk's. They have a real fine history. Doug, who is the current owner, is also the grandson of the original owner. He shared how his grandfather became the owner & how this quaint shop, with it's loyal patrons, are still standing after all of these years. You have to stop by to hear this story & to hear how many years they will be celebrating soon! I had a wonderful time chatting with the two ppl there. I didn't buy anything today, but plan to Monday. I have my eyes on some Turkey Tom wings for Thanksgiving. The young lady I chatted with was also quite friendly & shared info on different meats. I think I may shop here going forward for my meats. They offer meat packages in different poundage. There are also a lot cheese options. I didn't get a photo of their selection of smoked meats, but they have an entire case of smoked meats: hammocks, turkey legs & wings, and so much more. Parking may be a merry-go-round, I don't believe they have a lot. However, if you're on the bus, you may catch the 18 or any other Nicollet Ave bus that reaches 38th. Parking option is street parking only. Come check them out! You will not be disappointed.
