Main dude Allfonzo spent the whole time chatting with his worker (who did the entire job) about fixing his iPhone screen. All they found was laundry lint and one wipe. They definitely got the clog. But this wasn't an $800 job. No way. It should have cost maybe $250, being generous. I told them they were ripping me off and Alfonzo just said this what they charge all the time. Bottom Line Upfront: I can't recommend Alfonso and Alfonzo of Gridpoint Plumbing highly enough;…read morereach out to them for any job big or small. They can handle it, will do excellent work, and will provide top notch customer service. I took over management of a 150+ year old mixed use property in DC, which needed A LOT of plumbing work - the entire building's galvanized pipes needed replacement, many of the fixtures like faucets, sinks, and supply lines needed replacement, the toilets and shower needed repair, the HVAC's condenser pipe was broken clean off and draining down the side of the building, and the spigot in the rear of the building didn't work. As is the case with older buildings, no work is ever simple because there have been changes to standards, different people doing work, and there are always unforeseen issues. I should also mention that the building is occupied by two commercial tenants and one residential tenant and the work needed to be completed around their schedules/needs. I was introduced to Alfonso and Alfonzo by my personal plumber who prefers not to work on multi-tenant properties. They are a father/son duo with decades of plumbing experience (and, really, general know-how of how buildings work). Not only did they do an excellent job taking care of all of the plumbing issues I listed above, they provided honest advice and very reasonable prices and bent over backwards to accommodate my tenants. Some examples of their superior customer service: - One of the tenants refused to let Alfonso and Alfonzo work during the day, so they agreed to work at night for no additional charge - Each night, they would stay late to ensure the water would be back on during the day for the tenants - They worked strategically in certain areas at a time to minimize the disruption to the tenants, rather than just ripping everything open and doing whatever was convenient - They noticed my tenants hadn't cleaned their air conditioners' filters and cleaned them for no charge and without me asking - One of the tenants did sloppy electrical work without permission and knocked out power to half the building while Alfonso and Alfonzo were getting ready to work. They stopped what they were doing, diagnosed the issue, provided a temporary fix for free, and called several electricians to find one who could come out immediately and fix it (this is another benefit of hiring Gridpoint Plumbing - they have all kinds of connections with a variety of contractors). Aside from all of this, Alfonso and Alfonzo are really great guys. You can really depend on them to get the job done right. They've earned my business for as long as they want it. Trust me on this: stop reaching out to dozens of plumbers; your search is over.

With all 4, we explained other problems we'd been experiencing with temp differentials in the house and crazy high winter bills. Most of them were only interested in replacing the units and didn't try to help with anything else. Jorge took the time to really understand our system, troubleshoot the problems, and explain things in a way that made sense to a non-expert. The installation was very high quality, communication throughout was excellent, and they were able to do it within just a couple business days. On top of all that, their price was lower than all 3 other companies. I highly recommend Levanair and would go to them in a heartbeat for any other HVAC issues.

Jorge and his team are extraordinary; they did a great job replacing my AC unit and water heater. Having to replace both at the same time is no fun, but Jorge did whatever he could to make it a good experience for me. He addressed every question and issue promptly and thoroughly. I was very happy with the pricing, and appreciated that Jorge suggested I get other estimates before I committed. During these COVID times, I also appreciate greatly that they wore masks when they needed to talk to me, and they of course had shoe coverings when needing to come into the house. I could go on and on, but will end by saying that I am not easily impressed, and I highly recommend this company!

Communication was slow, updates were difficult to obtain, and I frequently had to initiate contact to receive information regarding permits, scheduling, invoicing, and installation status. I was charged $$ thousands of dollars in additional costs beyond what the warranty company covered. After consulting with other HVAC professionals and comparing pricing with other contractors, I believe many of the charges were excessive and significantly above comparable market rates. Despite repeated requests, I was not provided with sufficient invoice detail to fully understand or evaluate all of the charges assessed. The lack of transparency regarding pricing, combined with delays in communication and scheduling, resulted in unnecessary stress and prolonged the completion of the project. As a customer making a substantial financial investment, I expected clear documentation, prompt communication, and greater accountability throughout the process. unit was an older unit, they provided no alternative solutions other than replace both systems. No other test performed other than gauge test for low pressure to identify leak. No repair option. If you have another contractor choice, use anyone else. Without the AC, the temperature reached over 100 degrees. At the time, I had a service contract with another AC company, but they said the unit was not repairable and made no effort to contact Amana although it was only four years old and under warranty. I called Amana to determine what they could do. They confirmed the warranty was still valid and referred me to Comfort Zone. When I called the company, the service manager, Sean, dispatched two technicians to assess the situation, and then personally came out to confirm their findings. He concluded that the unit needed to be replaced. He contacted Amana, worked out all the details, and followed through to obtain a new unit which is now fully operational. Very impressive!

He replaced pipes for the original (shared) line which had clogged again quickly (because of other units) and ran an independent line straight out of my townhouse. It was a fairly major project since my garage ceiling needed to be opened up for the new pipes to be laid. He also redesigned the plumbing below the physical a/c unit removing unnecessary bends, and set the proper pitch for the water to flow. The new line works beautifully, is a robust solution and spares me any effects of the original plumbing backing up now that I have my own indepenedent condensate drain. This was a much bigger project than I expected but Carlos had all the right tools and know-how to get the job done properly!

He stayed until 8pm that night diagnosing the problem (it was a refrigerant leak in our A/C coil) and even got us a temporary fix so we could have cool air for our newborn that same night. His prices and estimates were fair and he let me know the worst case scenario upfront. THE BEST PART was our A/C coil had just come out of manufacturer's warranty.
