I give the manager credit for apologizing and doing what she could but Expats beware. If you're craving a good steak, save your $ and go to Wolfgang's. I understand that things are different here in the PI. I'm amazed that there is so much variety among restaurants. But it is not the fault of the locals when the restaurant company gives them cheap tools and products just to cut costs! Bad cooking is something else, though. A horrible experience at a Mesa restaurant actually made my wife go back in the kitchen and show the chef in training how to make adobo! Overall, I love the PI and the local cuisine. We were just traveling to Hong Kong for a short weekends trip but made it to the airport 3 hours earlier than we expected. The lounge is pretty spacious and nicely decorated. I liked that they had "charging station" seating areas with comfortable chairs! I also thoroughly enjoyed that they had multiple TVs. In comparison to the Mabuhay Lounge at NAIA, this lounge not only had more space but they had much better service and amenities! The food selection was so-so, mostly carbs: arroz caldo (rice porridge, sandwiches, pastries, pastas, cereal). Being vegan, my options were limited to bread and fruit. But hey! I'll skip the snacks anyday because they had a self serve bar! Again, comparing to Mabuhay lounge, I found this option to be much more welcoming. My family and I were able to enjoy a couple glasses of wine and a couple locally brewed beers (San Miguel Light). The staff was also very kind and friendly, making sure everything was neatly kept and food was refilled. Their bathrooms were also very nice and spacious as well, I saw they had a shower room too in case you need to freshen up in between layovers. 4 stars for the alcohol, service and interior. Manila is a great place to visit and has some really beautiful things to see and people to meet. However, it is also overrun with poverty in many areas and the infrastructure is not very advanced in some places. Couple that with sauna-like weather and I spent my days here surrounded by panhandlers, sweaty shirts, and nearly broken ankles from the potholes and uneven walking surfaces. So coming into this club which is air-conditioned, has some nice plane-spotting views, a flat surfaced floor, and offers plenty of refrigerated beverages as well as ice and this was like entering shangri-la. I expect that stuff in Europe and North America. I was ecstatic to find it here. This is a locally run lounge, not a SkyTeam Alliance lounge and not run by Delta Airlines. It is open to public access for a fee and the only airline it caters to is Delta for their premium passengers. Given that, it is small with maybe seats for 90 people and has a basic load out of beverages and food. Nothing too fancy or over the top but compared to the main terminal where you are relegated to Jollibee and instant cup noodles, this is a nice step up. There are moderate numbers of charging outlets, a small selection of alcoholic beverages, and some food choices with a local flair. I had a bowl of local chicken congee with calamansi squeezed in and it was really good. This is also a last chance for an ice-cold San Miguel beer prior to leaving the country if that is your thing. It is not mine. Frankly I am not much of a beer drinker so I was pretty excited to see an American whiskey available here, even if it was Jack Daniels. Back home I would not drink that as I consider it to be crap swill but after being here with limited whiskey availability in constant crotch rot conditions, a little JD over ice next to an air conditioner vent made me as happy as a pig in a mud puddle. I know that this review makes me sound like the arrogant, entitled jerk American. I do not mean it that way and I am genuinely thankful for my opportunities to travel to a lot of different places. I also am a big fan of the Philippines because the culture and food are amazing and the people are some of the friendliest I have come across on the planet. What I wanted to convey in this review was that for an airline lounge, this one is really no big deal. But when you compare it to what the locals have to do to make this place happen, it is a really nice space for some pre-departure hospitality. The food is a bit pricey, but it's a price I would gladly pay for great quality and consistency. TGI Fridays for me has that awesome, homey feel that makes it easily likable, like your friendly neighborhood diner. Throughout the years, TGI Fridays has maintained its great quality for me, and it has become such a great place to just chill and eat and drink. Their menu also innovates every now and then, and they add new selections to their already impressive selection of bistro favorites. The bar also whips up some great cocktails , especially their all-you-can-drink mojitos. Made from Iberian pigs from Spain, each bone is like a lollipop of tender dark meat ready for you to suckle on, piece after piece. Honestly a pricey beast, but certainly something to feast. Set Meals (Starting from 275 PHP) Just to be clear the ribs and beyond start from 395 pesos, while the 275 versions are just chicken fingers, fish, and the usual normal stuff. The following are the highlights of our dinner there: 1) SMOKIN' DUCK SALAD- The duck meat was smoked then placed on top of mixed salad which consisted of tomatoes, bell peppers, Lolla Rossa lettuce, hard-boiled egg, and cucumber. It was made richer with the added century egg which I hoped was the only egg placed in the salad. Anyway, the soy vinaigrette complemented well with the entire salad that made it uniquely delicious. 2) JIM BEAM BBQ IBERICO BABY RACK - The baby back ribs were slathered with a mixture of Louisana hot sauce and Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. It comes with 1/4 chicken that is rested very well and the lean meat doesn't taste dry to me at all. Additionally, it comes with ribs that have the same quality as the rest we've tried. The difference there is that hickory bbq sauce was used in it. Meanwhile, the soup of the day during the time we dined at Morganfield's was their spicy gumbo soup. I've had the crunchy tacos which are okay, the quesadillas which are yummy (and my go to order when I can't decide) and I always order the freedom fries, which are basically seasoned fries (similar to most curly fries in the US). This location was nice spacious, and had lots of seating. I'm sure I'll be eating at one these again and I definitely recommend for the non adventurous/picky eaters out there.
