Awful experience on a Saturday night. Told the wait was 30 minutes which turned in an hour and ten minutes. Both of my kids ordered the chowder and 3 clam cakes. Both chowders had very little flavor as the manhattan one just tasted like tomato soup and New England chowder had no flavor. My husband ordered the cheesesteak with mushrooms and grilled onions which looked great. I tried the lobster salad roll which was recommended by a longtime Rhode Islander. It was good, but a little too much celery for my taste. The fries were hot and the service was fast, but not friendly. The server was short with us which I did not enjoy. They do not offer free refills on soda, which surprised us both so they gave us water instead. read more

Came up from the NY/CT border for a conference , everyone local said "go to the crows nest" for seafood. We found it authentic , very friendly , and refreshing. The food was also generous, flavorful and reasonable. I had the seafood sauté which had 4 lobster claws , shrimp scallops, clams in a Manhattan style broth. All the staff were super friendly. What a disappointment. I always remember the wonderful swordfish dinners I've had at the Crow's Nest in the past. Well, they must have changed cooks because what I received today posing as a piece of swordfish I could have put to use on the bottom of my shoe to replace the worn out sole. The fish was only about 1/2" thick, overcooked and dry as a bone. It was served with what was supposed to be butternut squash but that remains questionable. The only thing on my plate that was edible was the baked potato. For this they charged $20??? Seriously? Never again. read more

Deciding to give this restaurant a second chance was a mistake. First time the food was adequate, mostly fried, breaded or pasta dishes. Tonight's dinner was with a group and the menu was pre-selected with fried, breaded or pasta dishes. The bread crumb topped fish was offered a side of vegetables and a potato which I declined. The vegetable, no kidding, was mashed orange squash! All 40 of our group had mashed orange squash, in April! (squash is a fall vegetable, are they cleaning out the food cellar?) I expect there are better seafood places in the area, try one of those. read more

I just moved to Rhode Island and quickly googled a seafood joint close to where I was. Crows nest popped up, menu looked reasonable, prices were good, so me and my friend decided to go. It's a real no frills kind of place, very outdated which isn't really a bad thing when you're paying a good price for good food. We got the peel and eat shrimp as a starter, I got the broiled swordfish and my friend got the cod (Italian cod or something like that it was served with peppers and onions). On the bright side, the food was fresh, shrimp were great and swordfish was great and the service was very friendly. The sides were pretty bad: soft mushy broccoli with cheese, flavorless mashed potatoes and peppers onions that tasted steamed with no seasoning. The cod was mushy and it was covered with flavorless pepper and onion mixture. It became apparent this was a place for elderly people by the soft flavorless food and "waiting room" decor and people seated around us. I can see how some people might like it, I'm not one of them. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time on Wednesday evening and had dinner. It would be a 5-star review except the décor is a bit outdated. Lois, our waitress, was fantastic! Very friendly and accommodating, she was a pleasure! My husband had the clams casino and a grilled cheese. He really enjoyed the clams, they are probably his 2nd favorite from anywhere (he is a connosuier, he gets them everywhere he goes!). I had the broccoli & cheese potato skins, which were very good; I also had the baked vegetable lasagna, which came with garlic bread and a salad for $9.95! It was a huge piece, and excellent! We will definitely be back when we are in the area, well worth the visit. read more

I have been going here for years and have sampled many items on the menu, all of which are awesome. The one thing that my whole family and i get EVERY time though is the lobstah roll. I lived in Warwick for 2 years before I ventured into the Crow's Nest. My mom insisted I try it and I'm glad I did. The food is good, the prices and portions are fair, and the cocktails are tasty. There can be quite a wait if you show up at dinner time but they offer call ahead seating so you know when to head down and get a table quickly. My favorite dish is the Surf and Turf with a broiled scallops. I would love to see them introduce some items for Gluten Sensitive folks, as a lot of restaurants are beginning to do. Like gluten free rolls and maybe some gluten free flour for the chicken tenders and fish and chips. read more

ordered the seafood special over linguine. No seasoning at all! I had to have the waitress box it up to go after 1 bite so I could add my own spices to it in order to eat it when i got home. There was literally no flavor whatsoever in it. It looked like it was cooked with canned clam juice. There was not a speck of seasoning in it, no basil, oregano, red pepper flakes- nothing. The waitress even said " we get that complaint allot about that dish" . I think it is time to either take it off the menu or get better cooks. read more

First time, and likely last time, unless someone wants me to meet them at the bar and offers to buy me some drinks. The menu and decor is dated; the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. I had the veal parm. and the veal was far below my expectations (I compare all veal to the Greenwood Inn). It tasted like it had been frozen and someone tried to cover that up by over-seasoning it (and it was too sweet). I was with a large group and their clam chowder did not have many clams in it, the Caesar Salads lacked enough dressing, and a fish dish was covered under a layer of clumpy red sauce that ruined the natural taste of the fish. I give this place two starts because the service was friendly and attentive. The people I went to the Crow's Nest with said they usually sat at the bar (we had too large a group to do it that night), and I can see why. Bit of a blue-hair establishment. Their broccoli au gratin and spinach au gratin is fantastic! I will literally contemplate not ordering when I call and find out they don't have one of those that day. Their baked scrod lunch portion is a good deal for the money. And the taste is on the better side of baked scrods I've had. Usually my go to dish. I've had their shrimp cocktail, which they don't devein, not a huge deal breaker for me, but is for some. Their French onion soup when they have it is decent. I got their chowder and maybe because it was early in the day, but the potatoes weren't cooked fully. That's about it I've tried. Like I said I usually go for the luncheon portion of baked scrod with double serving au gratin, mmmm fantastic. Oh and their rolls are good. Almost forgot...their fried clams are good. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight after receiving a recommendation from the Marriott we were staying at. We are from New Jersey and wanted a nice seafood place to have dinner, and we were unfamiliar to the area. Upon arrival, the environment already had us in a wonderful mood. Crow's Nest is located right by the marina. The inside of this restaurant was welcoming, nearly spotless, and the staff immediate showed us an incredible level of hospitality. More specially the waitress we had, Charlene F, was so kind and anticipated our needs before we could even ask. She was very friendly and entertaining. The food came out in such a timely manner. My dad's food was only slightly over cooked and before him even realizing Charlene F was right there with a whole new plate from the chef in an effort to correct the issue. We didn't even have to ask! They only wanted to give us the best. I admire their dedication to their professions. This was one of the best meals I have ever had, and I will definitely be coming back here and recommending to all my friends. read more

I love the Crows Nest in Warwick, RI. It's one of the best seafood restaurants. We've been here several times with friends. The food is great, ample portions, reasonable. Our anniversary is coming up, we've decided to celebrate at this restaurant. I've had the whole belly clams, delish! My husband loves the fish and chips, batter so light, crispy,not greasy, fish cooked to perfection. I think I'll try the baked scallops or baked stuffed lobster, buona petito! We went back. I tried the baked stuff lobster. I can't be sure if they boiled or it was frozen, the lobster before stuffing and baking. The stuffing was thick and gooey, not good. The meat did not have the consistency I was hoping for. I couldn't find the tail meat. The worse part about the dish is under the lobster my plate was filled with liquid. Never have I ever experienced this. BAKED STUFFED LOBSTER should be dry, dry claws, No liquid. For $32.00, I felt robbed. Where did the meat go? The claw meat was limp, couldn't eat it. I'll go back, however, I'll stick to the whole belly clams. very disappointed. read more

My wife, son and I reserved a table for 6:30 P.M. on a Sunday night. When we arrived early we were asked to wait and sure enough, a couple of minutes past 6:30 our table was ready. So far, so good. When the waiter arrived to take our drink order we asked the price of some cocktails and were told a very reasonable price (compared to NYC prices), Good again. When we ordered our meals we ordered steamers ( a favorite of ours and one of the reasons we chose a seafood house in New England for our dinner) and my wife and I each ordered a seafood sautee. A few minutes later the waiter came back and told us there was only one sautee left (at 6:30 PM - way too early to 86 a seafood meal in New England). I ordered a swordfish instead and gave my wife the sautee. Our soups arrived and then we waited a bit expecting the steamers. When they didn't arrive, I asked when we could expect them and was told the waiter forgot to put the order in for them - quite disappointing - but that our entrees were ready and would be out in a moment. When I voiced my disappointment, the waiter asked if he should then put in the order and hold the entrees. When I pointed out that doing so would mean that the meals would be hanging around getting old and that since the sautee was the last one in the kitchen so no replacement could be made fresh I was told I was right. I think the most surprising part was that I would have expected the manager to come over and at least comment on the restaurant's failure and deliver his regrets. As it was, it appears that the waiter just hid his error and kept his mouth shut. This is not what I would expect from this type of restaurant. read more

Great selection of meals for both fish lovers and turf lovers. Very busy but great people, nice rooms and plenty to eat. Our waiter was very busy but still paid attention to us. We went on the first weekend in May and there were already lots of customers so make sure that you have reservations during the busy seasons. Loved this place and want to go back again. So to kick off the summer my girlfriend and I decided to try out different restaurants in Rhode Island. I have been here before, but not in a great while so we decided to start off the summer adventures at the Crow's Nest. It was this past Friday night and I was in the mood for a turkey club so that's what I ordered. You can't really go wrong with a club and I thought it was very good. I got a side of summer squash which was fantastic as well. My girlfriend ordered the baked stuffed chicken and loved it. Smiling ear to ear while eating it she had no complaints. The wait was about 40 minutes which is expected on a Friday night so we didn't mind. It is also in a great location hidden away in Warwick right by the harbor. Definitely recommend this place if you looking for a good meal near the water with very good prices. read more

Very good basic food, from the hamburgers to the prime rib, and seafood. Very friendly staff. Come early because the are always crowded on Friday-Sunday. Only negative is they have a very limited beer selection. NO IPA's, or higher end microbrews. Just domestic basics, bud light, sam adams, etc. I hate to have to order a bottled beer when I go out , but other than that a very nice dinner out. read more

Love The Nest! Flew into TF Green and flew right over, and I mean, right over to the Crow's Nest; it was Easter Sunday, and it was reservations only, so I sat in the bar and had a fantastic fish n chips; even took a picture of it to show my landlocked friends back in Nashville. The food is always top notch here and the staff is always friendly. Of course, the view is fantastic. One night, I ordered the scrod to go and had it back in my hotel room. Fantastic! The mashed potatoes were great, too! This place does nothing wrong, and no, I'm not related to the owner! (P.S. Try the apple dumpling with vanilla ice cream; you won't be disappointed). read more
