A friend recommended Aimee for a haircut. I've seen her 3 times and have loved all my haircuts. I have long, straight hair and have struggled to find a stylist that I love until Aimee. The salon is cute and cozy and located a few blocks off Divis. Aimee is on time, easy to talk with and gives great hair pointers. She also doesn't push products like some salons. (They carry Kevin Murphy products and will recommend products if you ask though!) Go see Aimee for a cut. She's the best. read more

This was my first time seeing Aimee Deanda, & she gave me the best hair cut I've ever had in my life!!! I have aging silver curly hair that was 7 months grown out from another stylist. Aimee asked me what I want, & did exactly what I asked for! I love, love, love how my hair looks now. Her client after me had long straight hair, so she doesn't exclusively cut curly hair, but nonetheless is very skilled at it. I will definitely book with Aimee again; highly recommend her. The salon itself is small, but flooded with sunlight, is very airy, & has great decor. read more

Everything is great about this place. The service, the people. You all rock. See you soon again.

Megan is simply the best. I've been coming to her for years, and love the new setup she has at the Crown Salon. She has an exceptional memory, and she always remembers everything about past cuts that I've liked, so every haircut with her is perfect. She's also always on time, so I know I can get in and out on schedule, which is a huge plus because I usually come in on work days. Go see her. You can thank me later. read more

My salon search is over - I'll be with Crown and Tatum for life. Tatum is awesome and I love talking and laughing with her while she cuts and highlights with such expertise. She is so welcoming and fun and my hair looks better than ever. Thank you! read more

Tatum has been cutting my hair for years, and I look forward to every haircut! I got another fantastic haircut a couple weeks ago. I started seeing Aimee for Crown Salon's smoothing treatment this year. I love not worrying about frizz and styling products. I have thick long hair, and it's cut my blow drying routine to a manageable few minutes. My dog seems to enjoy the salon visits as well :) read more

Crown Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

I love going to Aimee, and highly recommend. I've never had "my" hair person I was loyal to, but Aimee lovingly turned my dull head back into pretty curls I love. The salon is beautiful, Aimee makes you feel special and remembered, and my hair looks great. As a teacher, I live on a budget, but getting my hair done here is affordable and worthwhile self care. I moved, but crossing the city to keep seeing Aimee is totally worthwhile. read more

Crown Salon - Kindergarten support for Aimee's work. - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

Tatum is the best stylist! She is about the only one I trust to cut my bangs correctly. It takes her so little time as she's efficient and confident. But, she does a thorough and beautiful job. I also love the style of the salon. It's very welcoming. Even though I moved away, she manages to fit me in when I visit. read more

The ends of my hair were so dry, I was one glance of concentrated-sun-through-a-pair-of-eyeglasses away from starting a fire. Tatum cut my hair and let me pretend I was Denise Richards for the hour which means she's very kind and also importantly, she is good at what she does. The salon is cute, uses great products, and I'm so glad not to drag around my old mop! read more

I read reviews, Reddit threads, online lists, and checked prices for ~ 20 salons in SF before selecting this one and am SO pleased with that decision. My experience with Tatum was 10/10. She asked questions about my hair routine and the products I use to get a sense of how I style it and what I put on it, answered my questions about how I can better care for my fine, wavy hair, and gave me the exact cut I was looking for. She was not at all pushy about their Kevin Murphy products but gave very helpful guidance when I requested product recommendations as I'd heard really great things about the brand. The salon itself has a calm and warm energy with plants and an inviting color palette. If you're like me and wanted an expert to style your hair and guide you on how to manage it at a fair price point in a city as pricey as SF, go here! read more

My friend referred me to Tatum almost four years ago and she has been the only one cutting my hair ever since. I trust her when I want a dramatic cut and even just a trim, she will always make sure you look good! I've also had a trim from Aimee, they are both so so talented. They will take care of you and make sure you are happy. Their salon is so cute and cozy, I always look forward to coming in. Tatum always gives me great tips for taking care of my hair. You can trust your hair is in good hands with Tatum and Aimee for anything! read more

This salon is small and super cute and just a few blocks away so I decided to make an appointment. I've seen Aimee twice and she's given me the haircuts I've been looking for in SF for years. Cuts here aren't cheap (they charge what they're worth!) but they're not charging the $200+ before tip that i've seen at other highly rated salons. I highly recommend Aimee at Crown! Book in advance since her appointments book up fast. read more

Tatum has been cutting my hair for about 7 years and I'm always super happy with her work and just spending time in her beautiful salon. From short hair to long to the weird in between, she's able to give me a style that's really low maintenance but also has ... style. She's the only stylist I've had where other people ask me who cuts my hair. She's also a really lovely person. read more

I had the worst experience at the Crown Salon. I first went to Tatum, who didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in, and made me wait about 20 minutes for my appointment after the start time passed. She could have at least said hello and let me know it would be a while (and I know she saw me come in- I was sitting 2 feet away from her). Then, she proceeded to critique my hair, and scolded me when I told her it had been 6 months since my last haircut, saying I shouldn't have waited that long. She was very unfriendly, and responded to my questions in a hostile and condescending tone. I don't think this is any way to treat a first-time customer, and I definitely won't be coming back. read more

I am currently sitting on a plane and waiting for boarding to be done. Two unrelated people passed my sit and the lady stoped and moved back to me in order to tell me that my hair looks so beautiful, that my curls look fresh and alive, she even used the word "magnificent". The person behind her immediately said "that is amazing, I was just about to say the same thing". Now, I know that it might sound like I'm flattering myself, but you need to understand that I never got compliments on my hair before. I mean, before I started cutting my hair here. Over the past 6 days I got 4 compliments on my hair, from random people at work, supermarkets, airports, at restaurants... Just everywhere. I won't lie, it's kinda nice :) Aimee is amazing! Not a lot of hair dressers know how to cut curly hair, and I have a lot of hair on my head. Aimee took the time to understand my hair when I came to her the first time. But it didn't stoped there. Every time I come to cut my hair she takes a good look at it, how much it grew and we talk about what she is going to do. She is using great products and her hands are gold. She gave me great tips on how to deal with my hair and what products should I use. Thank you Aimee, for getting/helping me to understand love my hair. read more

Tatum is just spectacular and a virtuoso of the first order. I've been so remiss in taking care of my hair since having a baby and heard of her about a year ago on GGMG. So many women were raving about her that I had to give her a try. I have to say, I've found my hair guru. She is such an active listener and really homes in on what you are saying. She wants to get it right the first time and do what YOU want, not create her own vision for you. For me, that meant hair that reminded me of the wood grain of a shiny violin propped in the sun or the kaleidoscopic glow of a burnished tortoiseshell. With Tatum's talent and balayage skills, that's exactly what I got. And her cuts are fabulous too--swingy, modern, and elegant. Her salon is a charming, sunny corner shop in Nopa with ever-changing art and fresh flowers. It's only a two chair salon, so if you don't thrive in high energy, buzzy, trendy places (I decidedly do not), you will love the cozy cosseting of Crown Salon. read more

Tatum has been coloring and cutting my hair for 4 years and there is no other queen bee I would let near my crown! Her obvious knowledge, passion, and confidence in the hair industry was apparent from the very start. She eased me into glazing my hair and eventually becoming the redhead I've always wanted to be! Everywhere I go, people are enamored with my hair color and Tatum deserves all the credit! Not only do I trust her with my hair color, but she consistently gives me the perfect haircut--whether it's minimal or (what I consider) drastic. I am also devoted to the Kevin Murphy products she turned me on to, which are available at her salon. Tatum has transformed and helped me maintain my mane and I will be forever grateful and faithful! read more

Aimee is absolutely the best! She is, hands down, the best stylist I have ever had and would follow her wherever she decided to go! Or, in my case, wherever I go...we are planning a move to wine country and I will still drive back into the City to see her. I remember my first visit with her, she took so much time getting to know my hair and what exactly I wanted. My hair isn't exactly the easiest to deal with, but she brings out the best in it...and will in your too :)! The salon is ADORABLE and there is plenty of street parking available. I literally parked right in front this morning. The product line rocks, there was a noticeable difference between the texture of my hair (so much softer) and volume (I have fine hair that needs a little TLC). Wish I could give Crown more than 5 stars :)!! read more

This review is long over due. I've been going to Aimee for over a year now and I'm so happy I found Crown Salon! Aimee has exceptional attention to detail, very professional, and remembers everything I've liked about past haircuts. I also have very curly and unruly hair yet Aimee makes it look great every time! read more

I will never go back to another stylist again. Tatum was beyond stellar! Loved her honesty and the overall space she created. She rules! I haven't loved my hair this much in forever :) read more

Tatum is so wonderful, and has an such an attention to detail. She has an amazing craft, and ensures you leave feeling that your hair has received the very best treatment. I've gone to Tatum for cuts and color and every time I my expectations have been surpassed. read more

Tatum and Aimee are both incredible. I have been going to Crown Salon for the last couple of years and my hair has never felt so consistently healthy, in all its natural glory. They are great conversationalists, but also still give customers space to be quiet/in their own zone. I continue to be really happy with their cuts. They have also given me some really helpful guidance about how to improve how I care for my hair and recommended the great products. Their space is so cute too (lovely colors and plants all around). The environment is really enjoyable and welcoming. read more

I've been going to Tatum for about a year and she's great at listening to what I think I want, and giving suggestions on what will look best - and every time I leave, I'm happier with my hair than the last time. She's flexible, professional and will make you laugh the entire time you're in the chair. read more

I'm a bit delayed in writing this as I've just come back from the east coast. I had an appointment with Tatum a few weeks ago for the first time after reading glowing reviews. My last salon experience was off kilter to say the least. Tatum is very sweet and approachable in person and her salon is beautiful and peaceful. She had a clear grasp on what I wanted and also gave her own tips based on her expertise, including ones outside the scope of the haircut, which I appreciate for sure. I ended up doing a trim but I can honestly say that my hair has looked better than it has in a long time. As for color, I got a sombre look with color dye instead of bleach, which has given some very subtle yet pretty highlights with great facial framing. I am very happy with my appointment and trust Tatum completely now with my hair. Next time I would go bolder :) read more

I've been a loyal and truly satisfied patron of Tatum for... Dang nearly 5 years. I'm getting old. Well, I'll be coming back so to her as long as I've got something up top to cut because she's never been wrong and is always ready to listen and/or suggest a new twist. I entrusted her to customize a "timeless" cut for my wedding photos and can in all honesty say that if you're a guy that cares about your look and style you deserve to invest in a professional crop chop. The service is high quality, the experience is remarkable and the atmosphere at her salon is peaceful. Go connect w her now and lock in a slot before she's booked for life. read more

Megan!!! where did you come from and where have you been my whole life? You completely transformed my hair and I could not be more happy. Thank you so much for being such a perfectionist! I'm obsessed with my new hair color and cut! If you are looking for a new stylist I highly recommend scheduling an appt with Megan at Crown Salon. I must say all the ladies (Aimee, Megan & Tatum) that work here are fantastic, please try it out you will not regret it! read more

My only hesitation in writing this review is that I don't want to share her with more people. Because Tatum is the best. I started seeing her 5 years ago when I lived in the neighborhood. I have since moved to Burlingame, which is quite a trek for a haircut or color. But I have tried several local other places and no one comes close to Tatum. She is the best stylist I have ever had. My hair is so thick that Tatum say "oh my gosh" when describing it. Very few people have ever known what to do with it. But Tatum has been able to manage my hair from super short to long. Plus I have to say, if you're going to spend a few hours in a chair talking to someone, it really helps if they are genuinely nice, awesome, kind people that care about you as a person. Going to Tatum is totally worth the drive. I get compliments on my hair every time. And for a city location, the parking is totally reasonable. NOPA, feel lucky, you have a new neighborhood jem. read more

If you are looking for your hair to look the best it's ever looked - go see Tatum and her wonderful salon. Tatum is the best of the best! Tatum is awesome! Show her what style you want and she executes with sharp precision! I have so much fun talking to her, I don't realize my haircut is over and I'm on my way! read more

I have been coming to Crown for many years and am always amazed by the finished product. Tatum, the owner, is an incredible stylist and always makes you feel at home and welcome. There is no need to panic that one side will end up shorter than the other or the coloring will be too dark, simply close you eyes and relax. I have never been disappointed. read more

I've been going to Aimee now for a few years, and I am always extremely happy with the results. When I first moved to SF, I used to salon hop all the time as I hadn't yet found a stylist I trusted with my fine hair. She knows the definition of a trim, so when we talk about taking an inch off, it never becomes four or five inches unexpectedly - believe me, this has happened with other stylists! She is also amazing (and speedy) with color and gets my highlights really close to the root. Aimee is very easy going, and the salon is super cute! No product pushing, no forced conversation, no pretentiousness, just great stylists who have created their ideal space for clients to come into. Love it! read more

I absolutely LOVE Crown Salon. It's in a wonderful, relaxed, beautiful environment that I feel instantly relaxed entering. What makes this salon truly special are the ladies who work here- both Aimee and Tatum are amazing. They are down to earth, friendly, easy to talk to and most of all.. they've got skills! They really take the time to listen to what you want, make suggestions and perfectly execute. I've had some of my very best haircuts from Aimee! If you're looking for an amazing new stylist and/or colorist then head to Crown Salon, you wont be disappointed! read more

This review is for Tatum and has been a long time coming. I have been going to Tatum for at least 3 years, and she is amazing. I have very fine, blonde hair, and she highlights and cuts it beautifully every time. She listens carefully to what I ask for, and she is great about asking questions and clarifying exactly what I want. Not only does she give a great cut/color, but she is great about teaching me how to style my hair. She never pushes any product, but she is always thrilled when I ask her for something, because she knows I'm finally stepping up from my usual Pantene. I highly recommend Tatum and Crown Salon. (I have also seen Aimee's work, and it always looks amazing, but I do not have personal experience with her cutting/coloring my hair.) read more

The art of hair styling, to me, takes the talent of a Da Vinci or Michaelangelo. To make that first cut, and to envision the finished product with each move thereafter; that is the true craft. Tatum has the ability to paint the Sistine Chapel, but has chosen to bless all of us with her passion for hair styling. I knew I had found my one stylist on a recent day at work. A woman stopped me and said, "Who cuts your hair?!" I replied, "Tatum at Crown Salon, she's the best!" She then turned to her boyfriend, and exclaimed, "Your haircut is terrible, you are going to look her up!" I felt badly for the boyfriend, but she was right. He needed help. Hopefully he heeds our advice and reaches out. Now that I have found the best stylist in SF, I am occasionally crippled with fear that someone in NY or Europe will discover her and take her away from us. It subsides every time I go back and get the amazing shampoo treatment. read more

I started seeing Tatum over a year ago now, and man do I wish I had found her 10years ago! My hair has never looked better, and I love stepping into her calm, inviting, and professional salon. My hair color was a mess when I met Tatum, & she brought it back to a natural beautiful color. I can't thank her enough! read more

I am very happy with my new cut and color from Tatum! My hair looks and feels so much healthier! She 'listened' and gave me exactly what I wanted. The salon is quaint and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back! Thanks a lot Tatum! read more

If you have wavy or curly hair, Aimee is the only stylist for you! The cut she gave me is magical. My waves would dry so flat before - regardless of what product or styling I attempted. Aimee cut my hair and told me it would "look best if I sleep on it wet" (not usually something you hear from your hair dresser, but means that there is 0 maintenance required). She was right! Now my hair dries in uniform waves without doing anything. Would highly highly recommend! Best cut I've ever had. read more

I would follow Aimee anywhere in the Bay Area, but luckily she only moved over to NoPa! I was so lucky someone recommended me to her 4 years ago, and now I get to recommend her to everyone. She has saved me from myself, with her great instincts and style. She has brought my hair back to life. Aimee truly is talented, I have had many a "stylist" in many cities and she is the best of the best. Many people ask me where I get my color done, (she does a great natural blonde). She has tamed my wild, frizzy thick head of hair with her safe and natural straightening technique allowing me to live in the fog. Other important San Francisco details, the salon is adorable and parking no problem! I always walk out so happy! I could go on and on and on but I will finish by saying that I am so happy she does what she does so I can benefit from it! She is amazing! read more

Today was my first visit to Crown Salon and won't be my last. I'm so happy to have connected with Aimee, who is very a professional and skilled stylist. She has great intuition and made suggestions for lowlights to me that I hadn't considered before and looks beautiful and multi-dimensional, just like she said it would. =) The space itself is clean and relaxing and with lots of high quality products. Speaking of products, I can't stop smelling my hair right now, which is an odd thing to say immediately after having it colored but it smells amaaazing. Thanks, Aimee! read more

Tatum is an excellent stylist! I've been going to Tatum for a few years. She pays attention to my requests, is very friendly, and my hair looks and feels great. I have a lot of wave and curl in my hair, and not everyone can cut it well. I'm happy I found her! read more
