Very cute boutique hair salon. They carry great hair care lines and has a cool ambiance offering you tea to wine, while listening to good tunes! Now lets get to business. Angelina (Lola) knows her stuff. Not only does she know her products and hair chemistry (is that a thing?) she is very talented with her technique. And I always leave happy! I go to her for color and bayalage. I usually say what I'm thinking and she consults with me and shows me pictures (yes!!) and we come up with a plan. I like that she has a vision and ideas of her own and explains what tones go with my skin, etc... I don't like when the hair stylist hands me a color book and tells me to pick. I get nervous when I pick my nail color!! The treatment usually comes with a haircut and a blow-dry style. I almost feel guilty not going out because I'm so dolled up! It makes for good selfies though! Highly recommend! read more

Hands down, the best salon in the city!! Be prepared for a warm reception and a personalized experience.

My GO TO salon for the last several years. The ladies here are definitely worth the drive across the City. You can't beat the wine and Chismiss! read more

One word: AMAZING! From the minute you walk in I felt so welcomed. I have been here twice and I cannot wait to go back! My first Visit I had Ang (Lola) and she gave me an A-line bob with a little peek-a-boo blonde. She paid attention to what I wanted and also talked me through the process. She delivered great results beyond my expectations. My second visit was with Tess and I did a red balayage. I was skeptical at first because I am not one to keep up with maintaining my hair but it worked out. Tess gave me pointers on which shampoo/conditioner brands to use/not use. She's very attentive in listening to and understanding what you want. Thank you Dolled & Dapper Salon for such excellent service and work! I'll be back soon! read more

Such a cute little place! I worked with Angelina (the owner) and she was so sweet and fun! She really listened to my hair needs/issues and made suggestions without peddling products like I have experienced in the past. Not too expensive (for SF anyway) and they saw me really quickly. I will definitely be returning in the future. read more

I had my hair balayaged and toned by Tess. First, the salon is adorable, clean, and absolutely cozy. I could sit in there all day. Second, the service is just THE best. Tess was very accommodating, started me off with some yummy tea, and made me feel right at home. Lastly, the quality of Tess's work is incredible. She's very attentive in listening to and understanding what you want, knows how it will work with your hair type, and delivers results beyond expectations. I came in with a grown out, botched blonde balayage from before seeing her (see pic). I wanted to go back to brunette but with a warm chocolate blended into a honey hazelnut. Tess is literally a hair magician alchemist voodoo master. She blended my balayage to get rid of a harsh line that I came in with (see pic for final results). She truly understands color and works magic on making it work for your hair type. From bold fun colors to a natural look, she can do it all. I absolutely LOVE my hair! Also, she helped me out with using Lyft for the first time and it was amazing! Thank you Tess! read more

My hair is never the same for more than 4 or 6 months so you can imagine how many times I visit the salon and how many stylists I have gone through...but Lola aka Angelina is my absolute favorite by far. She is too talented and amazing for her own good. I have found my stylist. She gave me my first major dramatic transformation from long locks to short pixie bob in one sitting! And just recently she turned me from a natural brunette to a beautiful edgy platinum blonde! I'm sooo happy with my new hair! These two ladies, Angelina and Fionnuala, are both the best. Super nice and friendly yet so talented and amazing ! They really care about your hair and are willing to do whatever to help you achieve what you envision for your look. They give great suggestions if you're indecisive and will not push you to do anything you're not comfy with. They seriously know what they're doing. I love it here. Vibe is so chill and cozy I don't have to worry about anything. Need a hair makeover or just a small clean up trim?? Dolled and Dapper gotchu! read more

Dolled & Dapper Salon - Loving my new blonde hair! Lola aka Angelina is the best! - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

Fionnuala is the best stylist I've ever had. A straight-talking, take-no-prisoners, badass fairy-tale princess with the meanest texturing skills you've ever seen, she and her scissors walked into my life and my hair has been great ever since. Fionnuala remembers the problem areas and addresses them with aplomb. Haircuts with her have always been something I look forward to. Scheduling appointments is a breeze, even far in advance, and the shop is consistently in tip-top shape. Can't recommend enough! read more

Angelina gave me the perfect post-covid haircut. My salon never reopened and I'm so happy I found a new stylist on the first try! She did my friend's hair at the same time since and we were so happy to leave feeling a little glamorous again. Very covid-safe establishment. read more

Those who know me, know I'm serious about where I get my haircut. I've been back in town for a year and have done a ton of places. From FSC, to the ADollop and everything in-between. THIS is place I'm gonna start using from here out. I've been getting compliments on the cut all week. Lola knows what she's doing. read more

I've been going here for 5 years! Fionnuala is amazing! All of the stylists are talented. I've felt very safe going during pandemic times.

I don't know how I've never reviewed Lola before, probably because selfishly I don't want anyone else to know about how amazing she is ;) I am extremely picky with my hair, and for the past 2+ years she has not only listened to what I want but also talked me out of some awful life decisions. She's taken my hair from brunette to blonde and back again without damaging my hair. She gives her expertise opinion and never tries to up sell you on some treatment or more highlights, more often than not she actually tells me I need less done than what I even think is true. She is talented beyond belief and never fails to make me walk out of the salon with an enormous smile on my face. In a city full of salons I can't imagine a stylist that is better out there. Also, she is an amazing human being who I look forward to seeing every time I make an appointment! UPDATE: I've been going to Lola for over four years now. Recently I made the grim mistake of getting my hair done while I was home in NH, I asked for a brown color and was given her black hair, tears streaming down my face I called one of my friends to fix it, she did the best she could, but I walked away looking a little on the brassy side. When I got home to sf the first thing I did was book an appt with Lola. She not only fixed the dye job but gave me a balayage that is gorgeous, manageable, and makes me feel great about myself. She listens to what you want, gives her honest advice and is truly just an amazing person to talk to. 4 years later and no matter where I move to, I can guarantee you I'll fly here just to have her do my hair. I can't say enough good things about her. read more

I think this salon is simply wonderful, and I'm excited to return for my next haircut. I only wish my hair grew faster - that's how much I want to head back! I saw Angelina (Lola) last week for a dry cut, and I'd like to share the highlights of my experience. First, the salon is right at a stop for the N line, so it is very convenient. The salon is new, but I understand that the two stylists are quite experienced. Lola's experience shows in my cut, for which I have received many compliments. It's stylish enough to head out in the evening, but subdued enough to tone down for office environment. It's very hard to accomplish such versatility with a medium-length men's cut, but Lola does it superbly. I love the intimacy and ambiance of the salon - I've recently been to much busier, higher volume salons, and this is significantly more relaxing. It's nice to be greeted immediately by your stylist upon walking in, and not to have to wait like a patient in a doctor's office. Dolled and Dapper excels here. For a great cut and style, I cannot recommend this place more highly. Check it out - you will not be disappointed. read more

After leaving my amazing hair stylist in LA I thought I would be screwed finding a new stylist in San Francisco... I went through 3 different stylist here in SF and then I found LOLA!!! Lola is a hair Godsend!!! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair because I am picky as hell when it comes to my locks! I have very thick hair and have noticed in my years of stylist that its rare to find someone who cuts hair like mine very well! My hair grows extremely fast and I love to try out all new styles and whatever I challenge Lola with she makes me look fantastic. She's very in tune with the latest trends and styles and will always make sure you look on the top of your game! Whether going for a preppy clean cut or edgy fun look, she can do it all. I get between 3-5 compliments a week on my hair and the way its cut and styled... I promise you, you will LOVE HER! read more

After 29 years of casual stylist dating, I'm ready to be locked down. Dolled and Dapper is not only a beautiful spot but Angelina is awesome! She listens to your needs and can read between the lines ("yes, that's right... I'm incredibly incredibly lazy about my hair.. and face.. and sometimes clothes). But she don't judge! She's just looking to give you a style that you'll love even after the professional blow out. Bonus points - I got a compliment from a stranger within 5 minutes of walking out of D&D! Also, my coworkers kept petting me (both weird and flattering). read more

I've finally found my stylist! My hair is happy...thank you Angelina! Dolled and Dapper is a cute boutique salon with friendly stylists that know what they are doing. Angelina was on point the moment I sat down in her chair. For some stylists it can be difficult to cut short, curly hair and also make it lay right and look good when it's straight. I let Angelina do her magic with scissors and put my hair in her hands. She did an amazing job and I couldn't be any happier. Dolled and Dapper has another loyal client. Looking forward to be back in the seat for some color. Oh...one other plus is their online appointment calendar. No need to go back and forth to set a date and time that works for the both of you. read more

Came in for a hair cut and this place did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great and I really dug the music. Heather did a great job with my hair and I will definitely be back cause I booked my next appointment already. read more

It's been over a year since I've had a haircut/color and it shows. Badly. Came here to clean it up and cut off the dead ends and walked out smiling. I used to keep it up in a messy bun/ponytail to keep it out of my face and because I didn't know what else to do with it. But with these fun layers, I like how it looks down! Definitely coming back again. Go see Angie! She's a great hair stylist and a wonderful person. read more

I've been going to Ginger exclusively for the past 4-5 years, and my curls are so grateful! She is my curl whisperer, giving me the best hair cuts of my life and always listening to what I hope to achieve with a cut. I've been a Deva Curl girl for years, but I always seem to learn something new when I see Ginger. In our appointments, she reminds me of little tips and tricks that I can take home with me. I'm not sure what I would do without her! Go see Ginger--you won't regret it! read more

Happy repeat customer of Fionnuala! I was long overdue on a cut and Fionnuala was kind enough to squeeze me in on short notice. She gave me yet another outstanding cut that not only suits my thick hair but also requires no maintenance on my part. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Dolled and Dapper. Cute salon, great service and awesome location. I saw Lola on Wednesday and she made my hair go from drab to fab! I got my color brightened, a trim and a really good conditioning. When Lola was done my hair was shining and looked healthier than it has in months. The ambiance of the salon was all that you can ask for...clean, comfortable and hospitable. The location is perfect next to shops, restaurants and cafés to peruse after your visit. All in all two thumbs up for Dolled & Dapper!! Thanks Lola. read more

Lola is great! Maintaining my auburn mane is very important to me and I have been to several high end and high volume salons with mixed results. As a redhead when you try to brighten your color many times it ends up looking not quite right (too pink/violet) or muddy (too brown). On top of that my color holds differently in different parts of my hair, so yes I'm picky and complicated, and the color is difficult. Lola listens, is non-judgmental and her experience speaks for itself when I walk away with amazing color. I'm not afraid to tell her something isn't quite right or to change it up a little because she genuinely wants you to be happy and not simply move on to the next paying customer. It is a rare find to have a stylist who you feel is humble enough to want that for you. read more

Angelina is AMAZING!!!! I'd had extensions for years, finally took them out for good and needed a new style. I had a few pictures and a general idea of what I wanted. Angelina gave me exactly that and was so much fun to talk to. I will not see another stylist in SF now that I've found her! read more

Moved to SF 2 years ago and needed to find to find a new place to get my hair cut. I randomly came across D&D on Yelp and I haven't been anywhere since! Angela and her team are awesome and do a great job. I even ended up getting my roommates to go here as well. If you are in the same situation as I was or looking for somewhere new, look no further! read more

Got my hair done with Fionnuala Belle yesterday. Amazing cut and color, I took a picture of a totally different look that I was thinking of, we talked about how to make it work for my face and it came out great! Color looks amazing too! So glad they're open again!!! read more

i've been seeing fionnuala for 6+ years -- she's simply the best hairstylist i've ever had. her talent is like no other! aside from that, we have always clicked and have great conversations. i feel so lucky to have found her years ago, she's always made my hair dreams come true. read more

Today I visited Dolled & Dapper for the first time and had Angelina cut my hair. All I can say is WOW!! She did such an amazing job! I've had the same hairstyle for years and never do much to it besides the occasion straighten. I really wanted to try something new, so Angelina did her magic and gave me beautiful layers. She was super friendly and educated me a ton about how to take care of and style my hair so that it looks amazing like this everyday. I can't wait to treat myself to another appointment with her again! read more

Awesome little salon in the Lower Haight, with cute ambience and that mom-and-pop feel, although the owners are not moms and pops! Angelina is not only pleasant and adorable, she is a hair fairy-godmother. She gave me the exact cut and color that I wanted. It's been a long time since I had a stylist that made me look and feel so perfect and beautiful upon leaving. Speaking of which--I have to add that coincidentally, the other owner (whose name I am horrible at spelling, but it's Fionuella??) was my stylist for a couple of years. I tried to follow her around the city, but I ultimately lost track of her. So I can safely say that both stylists are simply amazing. I just can't imagine anyone leaving disappointed. read more

I visited dolled an dapper salon on 10/12/13 and saw stylist Lola. She was very accommodating and knew exactly what I wanted. The color she did was excellent and the cut was great for my round face. I will be visiting this salon again. The salon itself was cute, quaint and clean. You would have never known it was brand new because the character had a very homely feeling. The products used for my hair were great and smelled so good. It did not leave the chemical smell from the dye. Overall I will be visiting this salon for years to come. Thank you Lola. read more

First and Foremost the salon in itself is so cute and the name is brilliant. Very welcoming for both ladies and gents! I'll start by saying my hair is a nightmare. It is curly, thick, frizzy and completely unmanageable. I knew I needed to do something because having an infant no longer allows for an hour of hair prep only to have mediocre results. Enter the awesome Angelina (Ang)!! I was really apprehensive about getting a Brazilian blowout because I didn't want flat, straight hair. Ang reassured me that I was the perfect candidate and answered all of my questions all the while completely easing my mind. It's worth noting that Ang is also beyond gorgeous and I trust style/beauty advice coming from good looking people. Just saying. ;) Once we were done with the process I was floored. I had what appeared to be naturally wavy hair that was soft, shiny and easily straightened. (a bold face lie!) My only regret was not doing this sooner. I definitely left the salon feeling like a doll and you Ang have a customer for life! read more

I got my first haircut with Ginger back in August 2018. It was a great cut and I was pleased. Sadly, on recommendation from a friend, I went elsewhere in January for a haircut and it did not turn out well. I have long, wavy/curly hair and the woman sliced it with a straight razor and gave me very heavy bangs. It looked stringy, choppy, and way too big. I looked like an extra in a Whitesnake video. So, with tail between my legs, I made an appointment with Ginger and she fixed it all! She really took her time, listened to my concerns, and patiently adjusted the cut. Without losing too much length, she fixed the shape and blended the bangs so it looks like a cohesive and modern haircut. She also made product recommendations but wasn't pushy at all. I had to ask her if she thought I should purchase a product and she said I could continue using what I had at home. I ended up buying what she recommended and it's working out great. No longer do I look like I should be writhing on the hood of a car while David Coverdale wails in the background. Thank you, Ginger! I won't stray again - lesson learned. read more

I visited Dolled and Dapper 3-4 months ago, but have just now created a Yelp account and can write them a review... Angelina was AMAZING!!! I was referred by a friend and couldn't be more appreciative/happy with the results. I did a layered haircut (I have realllllllly long hair) and all for a great price. If I weren't a college student on a budget, I would go there every 2 months for a trim! read more

Angelina is the best! I've been looking for someone that would understand what I wanted for my hair, she's the one. She did a beautiful job with my ombre hairstyle and hairstyle! Just what I wanted. It took me 3 stylists to find Lola, and I couldn't be happier. I moved here a year a go from Southern California where I've been spoiled with great stylists. It was difficult to find someone as attentive, but I found someone even better. I've been going to Lola for several months now, each time she has done a fantastic job. She is one of the friendliest and most conversational people I have met, and I'm always impressed how well she can recall our previous conversations. Lola always takes the time to make sure my hair is cut just how I want it. I can tell she plays close attention to her work and is very particular about the results. I have been so pleased with her results, I have sent her 3 of my coworkers, each of them leaving looking fantastic. I'll keep going back to Lola for as long as I can. read more

I love this place. First of all the salon is gorgeous. The window dressing is beautiful. I had my appointment on the same day as their official opening and the ladies were getting the place ready for the opening party that evening. I still received 100% attention. I had my hair cut short at a different salon almost 3 years ago and I've been having a problem growing it out and keeping some style in it. It's finally long enough now so I came to dolled and dapper to have it reinvented. Fionnuala was my stylist. She is fantastic!! I hardly had to describe what I wanted when she started basically reading my mind. She spoke to me first and made sure we were both on the same page about what exactly I wanted. She listened to me and I didn't feel rushed. I had a lovely relaxing head massage to start and then she got to work!! The result is fabulous! I've got a proper hair style once again. Lovely layers, nice amount of volume and a side swept bangs, which. Fionnuala also gave me tips on how to blow dry my hair, and bangs to make it sit properly. And they really work. I had my hair cut a few weeks ago and I still love it!! It's easy to mange and it really looks great when I style it myself. I will definitely return to dolled and dapper for my next hair needs. read more
