Emily has been doing my hair for years, but after two attempts to get my hair styled and back to looking good post pandemic, I will never let her do my hair again. During the pandemic I had my hair very short, and had let it grow out for many months, because I wanted it to grow out to shoulder length. I expected the first cut to at least bring it back into at least a nice style, but my hair still looked awful. I thought well, lets wait another month or so, and with the 2nd cut my hair surely will look much better. The 2nd cut, was the worst cut I have ever had in my life. I came home, and my husband was aghast... he said, "Emily gave you a mullet" I tried myself to style my hair better, and it looked like three crazy disconnected styles, which is pretty scary when I think about it, longer on one side than the other, a mullet, with way to much bulk on top. I called Emily and left a message, as well as sent an email, that I wanted to come back in to see if she could cut it any better. I did not receive a return call or a response to my email, so I gave up and found a new stylist. I am now back to looking good again. read more

Let's just say I am the Queen of Difficulty. I am psychotic when it comes time to get my hair cut. I used to have long, layered hair until the MISTAKE. I was a hair model and they destroyed my hair. I ended up with a bowl cut- looking like a cross between John Lennon, Justin Bieber, and Mo from the Three Stooges. Needless to say, it is quite a difficult cut to grow out. Emily is sweet, professional, warm and welcoming. Such a gem! I put all of my trust in Emily with my hair, once my favorite thing about myself, now turned into something I am ashamed of. I asked her to just fix what she could so it could grow out into something better. With such ease she was clearly fixing the huge mess that had become of my hair. I honestly didn't know if she would be able to fix it, because I was so used to disappointment and never being truly satisfied with my cut. I felt like finally someone listened to exactly what I want, what I needed and knew exactly what she was doing. I also forgot to mention that I worked in a salon for 4 years, and none of the stylists ever listened to what I wanted or was able to achieve the look appropriate for me. I am happy to say I am finally starting to love my hair, and it is flattering, appropriate and perfectly executed. I will never make the mistake of trusting anyone else with my hair besides Emily. She truly is the best. UPDATE: My hair is growing and finally looking like "me" again. I have actually started to LOVE shorter hair on me. (who would have thought?) I've been going to have my hair done by Senica. Let me first review the salon it's self It's very easy to find. When walking in it's very bright, clean and well organized. The salon is updated and very trendy. The other stylists are warm and welcoming. Now I'll review Senica I started going to Senica after several failed attempts to get my blonde hair looking beautiful but to no available every stylist I went to left yellow band in my hair and severe breakage. I found Senica through word of mouth and thought I give her a shot. She first evaluated my hair and what I wanted it to look like. She gave me a realistic expectation so I decided let's give it a shot. She was very knowledgeable about products and what kind of processing I can do in my hair without damaging it or breaking it more than it already was from previous stylists. She put a gentle bleach and toner and was able to take out the many bands that were lift from the other person I had been seeing. She toned my hair to perfection and I left the salon looking beautiful with my blonde hair. I was so happy that she didn't break my hair nor left any yellow, brassiness or frying. Had my first Brazilian today with Juliana and she's incredible. Insanely knowledge and does great work and is fast and thorough. I've been getting Brazilians for years but have never had such an in depth experience and left there having learned so much! My hair looks incredible and feels even better. In addition to being great at the Brazilian she gave me all these tips on my hair and color even though I do my color myself and it was really cool, as you know she was genuinely into caring about your hair being great! I used to go to Blade Runners because it was convenient (literally right across from my apartment) but now I will trek to Noe Valley to see Emily - she's just that good. I highly recommend her, and trust her with any hairstyle I try to pull off. Emily actually opened Fahrenheit as an independent venture (I believe she is co-owner), and she's there 12-8 Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10-6 on Saturdays. I haven't been in for a haircut yet, but I walked by the other day and the salon looked really chic and fun. My old coworker recommended Fahrenheit to me, and boy am I glad that she did because my hair has never looked better. I'm a lazy bum and I probably wouldn't have come here if I didn't live two blocks away, but luckily for me and the world, I live close. For anyone else who doesn't live in Noe Valley, the J drops off across the street. It's easy to get here. My stylist is Amber, and we have great talks about Sprinkles cupcakes while she's cut and balayage-d my hair. I love the level of detail and care she puts into her work (my head). She's also extremely fast and gives great suggestions. I'm a huge Amber fan. I'd like to also say that I have a HUGE amount of hair and Amber has been a champ about balayage-ing my hair twice at this point and not charging me a "too much hair" surcharge, which legitimately has happened to me at another salon in this city who I will not name. read more

Getting an appointment was super easy and the front desk was very nice. Emily was awesome! My boyfriend and best friend are both hairstylists so I haven't see anyone new for 7 years and it was a great experience. I showed Emily a picture of bangs that I liked and she did them SPOT ON! I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted my haircut to be like, but somehow she translated my broken idea's into an amazing haircut! Emily is my new stylist at Fahrenheit- and I am so happy that I took my friends advice and saw her. Since starting to see her regularly, I have referred two friends. Both EXTREMELY picky, one of which has not had a haircut in years where she hasn't cried afterwards-- and now both swear by Emily and are never going anywhere else. The salon has a friendly, outgoing receptionist, Juliana, who always finds a way to fit me in early or late. They sell great bumble and bumble products-- and oh WAIT, they are in the absolutely CUTEST part of Noe Valley, right off the J MUNI stop. When Emily left her previous salon (that was 4 blocks from my apartment), a few of my friends made suggestions for other salons or stylists in my neighborhood. But there was never any doubt in my mind that I would follow Emily the long 24-Divis bus ride to Noe Valley! Until I found her last year, I had forgotten how good it feels to actually LIKE (not just tolerate or accept) your haircut! I am not the most fashion-forward of gals, but she has a great way of balancing my clumsy input with her expertise to create super cute, clean, downright awesome cuts. She is friendly but not pushy; focused but not slow (and certainly never rushed to get you out the door). Anyway, just went to Fahrenheit for the first time last weekend. I don't usually write Yelp reviews unless I feel compelled to and I have been meaning to write one for Fahrenheit for a while now. Tony has been cutting my hair since either 2005 and 2006 and I will not allow anyone else to cut or style my hair. I will give him free range to do whatever he wants with my hair and I always come out totally loving it. From curls, to straight hair, to waves, Tony does it all. I've gone from really long hair to really short hair, he's given me a Brazilian blow out before. Tony has fixed my copper tone highlights from a different salon and turned the color it a beautiful brown. He's a total hair genius! I love the fact that Bumble and Bumble products are offered here and usually pick up a bottle of detangler or some type of styling creme. The place is bright and open and in a great neighborhood. Parking is not usually an issue but I take public transit most of the times to get here. If you're early for an appointment you can wander into Noe Valley, my fav place to get lost is Shoe Biz or the other cool clothing stores here. This place truly deserves 5 stars. I have been going to Emily at Fahrenheit for over a year now and have never been disappointed. I originally started seeing her when I decided to grow my hair out for my October wedding. I cannot tell you how she does it, but she would trim my hair into an amazing, long, layered style each time I visited her. And by the time my wedding rolled around, my hair was in perfect shape for my big day! It gets better....Right after the wedding, I was so sick of my long hair I had her cut it into an angular, modern bob with bangs. After 4 bad haircuts in a row (including several at my regular salon), I arrived at my Fahrenheit appointment with some trepidation. Each previous stylist promised that theirs would be *the* haircut I'd love, only for regret to arrive by Day 2 post-cut. The true test of whether or not I like a new cut is when it's been slept on, washed and restyled. A friend suggested Fahrenheit and I can finally say - I have a new spring haircut that I love, love, love! Tony's awesome and his skills and attention to details really shine. He asks for feedback before he starts and really listens. I wasn't sure I'd like the layering in the back but Tony was right and it looks fabulous now. The salon itself is clean and bright. I've been getting my hair cut by Senica for around 10 years, so I was thrilled to hear she was back in San Francisco! She is an amazing hairstylist, and has consistently given my very long, thick hair great, stylish cuts. Since she joining the team at Fahrenheit, I went in for a cut and color. The salon is beautiful, and Senica's work was flawless. I have dark brown hair, and she thoughtfully, carefully and artfully gave me a beautiful honey balayage. It looks blended and natural, and she really took her time to make sure it was done right. I can't recommend Senica enough! I'd been growing increasingly dissatisfied at my old salon, which started out well, but invariably, after a single washing, my hair migrated to an icky orange-y hue instead of the rich dark brown I craved. Enter Tony at Fahrenheit. He immediately knew what to do, and within an hour, I had the color I wanted (and was born with!). Best of all, it stayed that way through many, many washings! What else do I love about Fahrenheit? It's a super-cute salon, very sleek, and right in my neighborhood. Everyone who works there is so nice. And, it's not a "factory" -type salon, meaning that your stylist does it all. How happy am I? Let me count the ways: 1. Customer Service? It's fantastic. I don't know why there are complaints. 2. Eyon: She made me feel so comfortable. Listened to me apologize profusely for the state of my hair. A greasy-rooted-dry-ended mess that looked more like Edward Scissorhands' hair sans volume. I am not kidding. My mother would have slaughtered me for leaving home in that state. 3. Eyon: She explained what we needed to do to get my hair to shine. And no, it wasn't "you need to change the structure of your hair with a Keratin treatment", or "extensions...your hair is so thin", or "hmm I can't do much with this besides cut it short". It was a simple, "let's get you some layers to lift the hair, and sort out your products". 4. Eyon: Chatty, friendly and just one of the nicest hair-girls I have met. I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. 5. The Haircut: It's fantastic. Eyon was professional, fast and I didn't feel like my hair was being tugged into submission or my scalp scalded with a hair-dryer. It has bounce, lift and best of all, it's falling naturally and so flattering! Finally, someone who understands my hair and how to make it not just look good, but suit my face too! 6.
