She is incredibly meticulous and detailed with her haircuts, wonderfully gentle and careful with washing, and amazing with hair color. You can tell she takes so much pride in her work and pays attention to every little detail. My hair is very difficult to cut because of years of processing, but she worked her magic. To make sure there would be no misunderstandings, I called the salon again the day before my appointment to re-confirm. During that call, the front desk asked about my hair texture, and I explicitly confirmed that I have fine, naturally wavy hair; she assured me it was not an issue and confirmed my appointment with Yuka. When I arrived today and sat down in the chair, Yuka took one look at my hair and flatly refused to cut it, stating, "I can't cut your type of hair. I never cut hair like this before." She suggested I rebook with their curly cut specialist, who was not even working today. When I reminded her that I booked a week out and specifically called the day before to confirm my wavy texture with the front desk, Yuka snapped back, "Why did you come here?" At that point, I cut my losses and walked out. It is one thing for a stylist to lack the technical skills to cut anything outside straight East Asian textures, but handling a client with that level of hostility and disrespect is inexcusable. To take time out of your week, confirm twice with staff, sit in the chair, and then be aggressively asked why you even showed up is appalling customer service. If your hair has any natural wave, curl, or texture, save your time and dignity and book somewhere that understands diverse hair types and treats clients with basic respect.

I recently had my hair done by Jody, and I have to say, I could not be happier! I have found the hair stylist that I will be sticking with. For the past three or four years I've been bouncing from salon to salon -seeing the same person two or three times, giving them the benefit of the doubt, before realizing I had to move on- trying to find somebody who could make my hair look the way Jody so effortlessly made it look the first time she cut my hair. I have gone from settling with unsatisfying cuts, "layers" that could hardly be called such, and heaving that heavy sigh day after day as I walk out of the bathroom after doing what I could to make my hair look "okay," to now loving the way my hair looks and feels and walking away from the mirror grinning from ear to ear, knowing it really looks fabulous. Jody gave my hair new life, fixing the mistakes of stylists-past, with a beautiful layered cut that looks great styled or not, and subtle highlights in all the right places. I now look forward to the next time I have to get my hair cut/trimmed, because I know over the days that follow I won't be looking in the mirror frustrated, sighing, wondering "why the heck did I go back to that frickin' salon"... I'll be feeling satisfaction, knowing I will really get my money's worth from somebody who knew what they were doing when the scissors were taken to my hair. Thank you so much Jody!! I can't express enough how thankful I am to have met you! read more

My buddy Silvan left Switzerland for a trip to California with his girlfriend last summer. He left with very long, healthy hair. When there was any talk of cutting it, we would talk him out of it. But when he came back home to Switzerland with his new haircut, I was blown away. Jody, his cousin, had transformed his head into a super stylish piece of art that inspired me to start growing the hair on my shaved head, so that Jody could hopefully do the same to me on my trip the following spring. And she did. A session at the Park Salon is a great experience. Friendly and professional. Just ask for Jody. read more
