I called to explain that the clear cap on my pump was broken, and a lady named Jeanette interrupted me and said it wasn't covered under warranty because it was due to weather. I then got upset and told her I wasn't calling to get something for free, I was calling to see if they carried the part so i could go get it. And I asked her to stop interrupting me. She is the most rudest person ever. I wish i had not bought my pool from that store. This lady has been rude to us on several other occasions as well, but today I had to tell her she is so rude to talk to customers so ugly. We bought a 28 foot oval above ground pool from these folks. The husband and wife team that own/operate this place are so good. They explained everything in detail and even after spending an hour with us going over all the fine print, they didn't have an issue with us thinking about the purchase. We returned 2 weeks later and bought the pool with upgrades! Install went great and their installer had great customer service as well. 6 months later the pool and accessories work just like they did on day 1. We are very rough on our pool with kids and pool parties and have had no issues so far! We return once a month (even though it's an hour drive) to get our chemicals here. Could I find the chemicals online for cheaper? Yes, but these people go out of their way to help their customers, so I will continue to support this small business even if chemicals are cheaper online. I see people come in here all the time that didn't buy a pool from them but the store owners still help them/educate them and treat them like family. I was very disappointed in the female owner of Crown Pools today. I took my pool equipment in to be repaired, something I had done in past seasons. I wasn't going to be available via phone so I wrote on invoice charges approved up to $200. Crown Pools called and left a message that it was fixed and was only a small part so the charge was less than $4.00. Since I was on a trip and wouldn't be home until the following Monday I called and paid for the invoice with my credit card and told them my neighbor who also had a swimming pool would be picking it up. To my embarrassment when my neighbor showed up the female owner said the invoice was "not paid" and she was tired of people like her trying to run a scam. My neighbor told her that she had a text from me that said it was paid; however she was willing to pay for it again. And she said she felt that she was owed an apology. Kind of half ass- the owner gave her an apology; and then stated we didn't even charge her for our services, and then she was told by another employee that "Yes" the invoice had been paid. I could have cared less if they charged me for their services, along with the $4.00 part. I authorized them to do so. I live here locally along with my friend. I have never been more disappointed in a business for its unprofessional conduct and the way they treated a friend who was just there to pick up something for me, and had intended on buying items for her pool as well. I am appalled by the conduct of the owner of Crown Pools in Desoto, TX. Bottom line is this - for absolutely no reason, the owner of Crown Pools in Desoto, TX accused me of trying to "pull a scam" for a $5.00 part while I had $100.00 worth of intended purchases on the counter and I wasn't done shopping, AND rather than argue over such a small amount, I offered to REPAY my friend's ticket. After attacking my character, once she realized she was wrong, when I asked for an apology, a snide one was given and she rudely said - did that make you feel better! I will never visit Crown Pools again. Upon recalling the story to my friend later when she collected her pool cleaner, I began with, "I want to encourage you not to use Crown Pools again. Word of mouth advertising - of satisfied or dissatisfied customers - is the NUMBER ONE reason people make first time and repeated visits to an establishment in which they intend to part with their hard earned money - or choose to shop elsewhere. As a well-respected long time resident of Desoto (since 1983), with many friends that are pool owners, I shall make them aware of how the owner - not just an employee - treated me. And not just treated me - she basically was saying my friend was lying and had not paid. The purpose of the visit was to pick up a piece of pool equipment for my friend and neighbor who was unavailable to pick it up herself. She sent me a text stating it was paid for and they were aware I would pick it up. As a first time visitor to Crown Pools I was pleasantly surprised to see the colorful outdoor décor and a nice selection of floats. I knew immediately I would make a large purchase. And I needed a part for my pool cleaner as well. I had intended to buy the part elsewhere but thought if my friends trusted Crown, I could too. I greeted 2 young men at the counter and made aware my intention. Within moments my friend's pool cleaner was on the counter. I was asked to pay - I can't recall the exact price but it was under $5.00. I stated it was paid for and the young man said OK. I said let's not just take my word for it - here is a text from my friend stating it's paid for - perhaps you have her ticket. The young man then stated to me - No, you look like an honest person. I thanked him and said - yes, in fact I am. I asked if the pool cleaner could remain on the counter because I wanted to shop and make a purchase. As I continued to browse the female owner of Crown Pools approached the counter, and in a loud, abrupt tone stated this was NOT paid for and she was tired of "people like me" trying to run a scam. Immediately I approached the counter and I showed her the text from my friend and she stated, "We get people in here all the time trying to pull a scam like this." I was shocked . . . "people like me???" I was well groomed, appropriately dressed, friendly, polite, and had $100.00 - so far - of merchandise on the counter that I intended to purchase. EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF SCAM WAS A PERSON LIKE ME TRYING TO PULL --- OVER A $5.00 PART! Rather than argue over such a small purchase I offered to REPAY the ticket. Then I was shown the part I was paying for - a scrubby brush for the tail of the cleaner. Now this struck me odd as my friend had just purchased a package of these and shared one with me. Curious, I made mention that I found this odd. The woman then started to rip off the part and stated, we didn't even charge her for the work we did." I asked her not to take it off, that I would just pay the ticket and ask my friend about it. About that time another young man approached with the receipt where my friend had in fact called and paid with her credit card AND let them know I would collect the cleaner for her. The woman walked off and huffed, well FINE then. Clearly, she was embarrassed. I told her in a calm and polite tone - it was not FINE - and I felt since she barked at me before finding out the facts and out right accused me of trying to pull a scam I felt she owed me an apology. She leaned over the counter and in a very indignant tone said, "Well, ok, sorry. Are you happy, did that make you feel better?" I politely said, "Yes, it did, kindness goes a long way on starting out again on the right foot." I then asked the young man to repeat to her his comment about "how I looked like an honest person." Although the apology was not sincere, I thanked her and started to leave. She saw I was not making my intended purchases and approached me to apologize again and didn't want me to leave upset. Consumer BEWARE! This business is crooked. I literally took my Polaris in for servicing and was told they were awaiting the part. Months later my spouse went in to pick the Polaris up because we never heard from the company and was advised that one of the technicians had the Polaris. Again after 2 weeks, I called and spoke with Justin who advised that the employee had the Polaris and when asked when I could pick the device up,Max advised that he threw my Polaris away. This is unacceptable and I will take legal action! read more

I have always had wonderful experiences in this location when I go in , always courteous and helpful. But just called and the young man was not very customer friendly, did not say thanks for calling or even goodbye. I will go back because I can't get what I need anywhere else. Their help is always very young men and they could use some training on being courteous. read more

No customer loyalty here. Treated gruffly and staff had a smart aleck "Superior attitude" every time I came in. Today was not good. Tried to return an item, buy a fountain and a pool divider for inground pool. Lost receipt but the clerk who served me remembered me. Hello? I put it on my credit card, just check your machine. Manager came out and didn't say "What's wrong", but said instead "Why are you so angry?" I have a right to be angry I have a product that doesn't work and you refuse to accept returns, regardless that I am buying over 150 of merchandise..(Her clerk stated he remembered me) but she would not budge. She said take it back to the manufacturer. We can't find it with your credit card. I decided not to buy anything there, left my purchases on the counter. I informed them to UPDATE their equipment, and try having a sign up in the store saying no returns without a receipt --- no trades for buying, even if they recognize you! Most receipts are for folks who are returning to make sure they bought it from their store, well that was confirmed. But it wasn't that, it is the snobby and swift and cold customer service that I received there every time I came. I promptly went to Leslie's pool and made my purchases. MUCH friendlier atmosphere, and I told the folk at the counter, and they said, OH Crown pools? We've heard about them. An older white gentleman in front of me nodded his head. Young guys there who seemed trained to run you away, buy or die type attitude. Very unprofessional. But I was outdone when she gave me that angry cliche..that some like her attach to black women in an instant. She didn't even bother to apologize. Well, that's fine. I will return the item back to the Manufacturer. with a full account of what happened there. Talk about no customer loyalty. And no support for their customer base. They are located in affluent Desoto, which is now predominantly home owners who happen to be of color. They need to update the obvious attitude there. No wonder there was NO ONE in the store, while Leslie's had many customers less than two miles away. Unreal. Do not go there to be treated rude for your dollars. read more

This store has the most awesome sales team. The Husband & Wife team are so helpful and respectful of all your needs with your pool. Never feel that we are over charged with any of the pools, equipment and chemicals. So comforting going to a family owned business and receiving personal help. Thank you so much Janette for hooking me up with your fantastic installation crew (Mendez Installations)! They have saved our horrible initial install from a local company and we were so pleased to see the enormous difference from a piss-poor installation job.....to what the Mendez Installation did! They brought the proper equipment, leveled the ground the right way, had a rolling water compactor to compact the ground, installed the proper blocks under the posts, used proper level reading equipment, and did a fantastic job! They even had a portable, inflatable water storage thing that was filling with water while they were doing all the ground work and pool install, so that after they installed the liner, they pumped the water that had been filling....over into the newly installed pool! Such professional work! It's so nice to see the same water line all around the pool in the same spot on the design of the liner for a change!!!!! Thank you so much for taking care of us! Paying the extra money for coming out long distance to Joshua, TX was soooooo worth it! I will recommend you guys to everyone I know!!!! read more
