So I asked a local to recommend a good, non-chain pizzeria, and they immediately said "Tuscan…read moreWolf!" And who am I to doubt an expert? The vibe inside is very bright and open on the ground floor. The second floor has larger tables, and a bit more dark and refined. But the downstairs shouts "Family!", and there were a couple there while eating. It's lonely eating solo sometimes, but on the other hand, you can usually get a bar seat when the place is packed, which is what I did. Service was quick and cheerful. They have an extensive menu of Italian dishes, but I wanted pizza, so I ordered their red sauce choice called "Parmigiana". (When do I never want pizza? That's a good question!) The pizza came in good time, and was the perfect size for someone like me. Two normal people could also probably share it. I shed a little teat when it came, because it was uncut, with a steak knife and fork for me to do the honors. Not a tear from the pizza, but from good memories of Mangia E Bevi, whete they served pizza the same way...sob. The pizza came with lots of parmesan cheese added either after or late in the baking process, so it wasn't gross and burnt. Also thin sliced eggplant, with that goopy yet chewy texture I like in my eggplant on pizzas. The sauce was savory with a hint of tomato sweetness, and the crust was chewy and a bit darkly blistered but not burnt. Wonderful! A great pizza place, and they do have a huge menu of things besides pizza. I overheard one trio say they drove three hours to get there, and they said it was worth it. And I would definitely agree.

Their pizza crust and tomato sauce are just exceptional and I knew I would be satisfied, and yes, I was very satisfied this time again!!!! We had (take out) #Pizza Margharita I appoint this as the best Margharita in Durham region. No complain. The crust, tomato sauce, cheese and big generous aromatic basil leaves - simple beauty. #Pearfect Bite This is added to another favorite of mine at 468F Wood Fired Pizza! Sweet and savory combination - Sweet pear slices meet saltiness from pancetta and 2 cheese Fior di latte, flurry ricotta. Walnut pieces added extra texture, and acidity & sweetness from glazed balsamic completes the taste of the whole. Highly recommended! #Di Parma This is good, tad salty side, but I appreciated the bitterness of arugula, nuttiness from parmigiano, and again the reduced glazed balsamic' rounding up of the whole flavors. I cannot wait coming back here again to try new pizza items (but I cannot miss Margharita - that is my must item)!

The best part about this place is the very friendly, warm service. Amazing people. My biggest critique is the pizza and the veggie in particular. The pizza is watery and this is likely because they put raw veggies on the pizza before it goes in the oven. An easy fix is to quickly sauté the veggie first before baking on the pizza. There was also no flavour. Just very disappointing. Kids enjoyed the cheese but in my view overall it's too pricey for what you get.
