Food was good. There however was a miss in the platter they served. It was supposed to have carrot and celery slices. There was one lonely celery slice which was very disappointing. Pizza was a bit on the thick side, the Mac and Cheese was quite good and so were the wings. Service was generally good and prompt. This location is particularly one of my favourites, as they have lots of available seating, the service is great, and theres so many screens to watch the game. Considering I went to watch the World Series Game 2, glad am I happy I made a reservation. The place was packed and full of huge baseball fans. With the amount of people dining in, the service was absolutely amazing and the food came out reasonably fast. Now onto the food, we ordered the Triple Play which comes with chips, bandera bread and thai chicken bites. It was a little cold but was still delicious to eat. I ordered the Mac and Cheese for my main course and it was truly good. Packed with so much cheese, this one was really good! Appy hour is the best! All day Mondays and weekdays after 9PM. My go-tos are the either just the cactus cut potatoes, or getting the triple play to share. It comes with cactus cut potatoes, thai chicken bites and bandera bread for about $20! The regular meals are great too from the thai chicken wrap to the hungry carnivore pasta. Pre-Covid, I would have given this location a solid 4.5. Everything was fresh, service was good. Since everything has reopened, I have gone back 2-3 times and every visit has progressively gotten worse. 1st visit back, my burger was sent back 2x. Overcooked, super dry with no flavour. I asked for bacon when I ordered and the sauce on the side. which was an extra cost of $2. No bacon on my burger and the sauce was not only added but way too much! Maybe to hide the fact that the burger was overcooked and had no bacon!? I waited for what felt like a good solid 25 minutes, and I was just about to request they cancel it and ask for a refund on my bill and it was brought to the table. First thing I noticed was less fries, still no bacon, sauce on it that I asked for on the side and it was still dry and overcooked. We also ordered onion rings for our kids. They used to have super crispy onion rings which was a generous portion of super delish crispy, crunchy onion rings. These were clearly a different kind, soggy, smaller size and portion, but more expensive. Nothing to make up for the super long meal and disappointing meal. Next visit, kids wanted pizza, hubby decided to have a burger. My oldest wanted the Bugs N Cheese pasta from the kids menu. Pasta was a disaster, the sauce was so watery, no flavour and the sauce was just pouring out of the sides of the bowl. I immediately asked for a larger bowl. This should not have left the kitchen looking so messy with the sauce and noodles all over the place and could have been placed in a proper sized bowl instead of shoved into a small one. It looked like they scooped up the pasta with the bowl before bringing it to the table. Hubby's burger was dry and overcooked and drenched in the secret sauce he asked them not to put on the burger or on the side. He regretted the decision to order, but figured, 6 months since the last visit and my own burger fiasco, what could go wrong!? Pizza was just "ok", not an even spread of toppings, did not like the sauce at all. Mistake ordering this item, but figured the name of the restaurant is Boston Pizza, if they can't cook a burger, they should know how to make pizza. Nope! One of the servers explained that there were some items they could not bring back after Covid and menu items had changed. I completely understand this, but the quality wasn't the only issue, it was the kitchens inability to send out a burger made right. Plus factor in the cost of everything has gone up significantly, there should not be this many mistakes. Nothing to make up for sending food back again and making this into a longer dining experience than I was hoping for. Last visit, our kids at school received a card for free meals as the school lunch pasta for ordering is from Boston Pizza. The school explained when giving these out, that it was for 1 free kids meal. There is nothing written on the card that states any terms & conditions of use. This was a huge red flag after our kids explained that the school assured students they would receive a free meal. I went to the website, nothing there. We were greatly disappointed as were a number of other parents that the only place anything is noted is on the door of the restaurant when you walk in. Nothing on their website and nothing on the card. Worst part of all was the appalling way the manager handled the entire situation. Rude, argumentative, practically shouting in front of other customers when all of this was brought to his attention. I can't begin to explain how belittling, embarrassing and unprofessional that entire experience was. They need to pull all of those cards and get rid of them as this is false advertising and misrepresentation of what they are offering. I don't mind paying for a meal to get 1 free for my kid, but this a huge marketing fail to not write that on the cards where it says free kids meal. Very misleading. Based on that last visit, I will not be going back and the manager needs a huge dose of training and being coached back on how to manage customer expectations and learn how to communicate. No apology or effort to make things right. Other staff there were embarrassed and apologized for the managers behaviour when I was walking out with my family. On a side note, one of the servers we had during one of those 3 visits, mentioned that the Stouffville location is one of the best Boston Pizzas. I may have to check that out. Placed an order on the Boston Pizza website before 3PM on Sunday for delivery by 4PM from the Markham location. At 4:15 PM I called the restaurant to find out where the food was, and spoke with Henry (manager?). He kept saying it was an Uber order and the driver had not picked it up, I explained repeatedly it was ordered on the BP website and not via Uber. I have the email receipt that shows it is BP. Eventually my son went to the location to pick up the order, my credit card had already been charged including a tip and the delivery fee. They did not refund the delivery fee or the tip, gave us one slice of cheesecake as compensation for their absolute incompetence! Place used to be okay - will never return! read more

This is the second time in a long time did I ever eat at Boston Pizza and I was impressed. I ordered the takeout large pizza and wing deal, for $43.99 (without taxes). I decided on the royal Hawaiian pizza, twice baked garlic parmesean wings, garden salad and Bandera bread. Food from phone order to pick up took approximately 20 minutes. I was actually quite impressed with the pizza. Sweetness, saltiness was balanced very well. No tomato sauce in the pizza which was new. Generous amount of toppings on the pizza. Wings were not oily or greasy at all. Good compliment with the wings. Garden salad was fresh and looked great in presentation considering it was in a takeout container. Salad dressing was not too vinegary. Bandera bread was the reinvented garlic sticks minus the garlic. Simply put a cheese pizza bread stick. Dipping sauce was nice and spicy and complemented the bandera bread. Overall impressed with the meal. Maybe the only thing to complain about is bang for your buck. I visited this Boston Pizza location for the first time a few nights ago + it was our first time eating out since the Covid-19 rules & regulations have eased up a bit, so here's how my great experience went: This Boston Pizza location has a pretty decent sized patio. We did call ahead a couple days before and made a reservation, so when we got there we walked in through the front doors and were escorted to the patio where the tables were all a good distance away from each other. I ordered: Sante Fe Chicken Quesadilla - $12.99 (quesadillas stuffed with BBQ chicken, onions, red peppers, tomatoes, cheddar and mozzarella. A side of salad + salsa and sour cream) This was sooo good. The quesadillas were crispy on the outside and soft and flavourful on the inside. I really wasn't expecting much for the price, but I was definitely proved wrong! This dish is a great bang for your buck. I chose the Caesar salad as my side and it was also delicious. My boyfriend ordered: Jambalaya Fettuccini - $19.49 (pasta, chicken, shrimp, spicy sausage, tomatoes, green peppers, green onions, cajun seasoning & marinara sauce) He said this dish was flavourful and filling, a good amount of food for the price. For dessert we ordered: The Panookie - can't remember the price Holy cow this dessert was heavenly. A giant chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and caramel + chocolate drizzle? Yes please! One of the best BP locations! Great location, great service, and amazing food! We came here to watch a Raptors game and we had just great night! Such a spacious location and holds a lot of people both in the dining area as well as the bar. Great screens and volume for the game eve with all the talking in the restaurant. Our server was super helpful and nice. She was constantly refilling our drinks, helping us with the menu, and suggesting items to try. The food was amazing as well. We got the spinach and artichoke dip which tasted great. The garden salad was good but pricey. We got two medium pizzas and even though its a bit expensive, it tasted great. They have an option of making the pizza vegan but adding vegan cheese. The second pizza was customized which tasted great as well! Loved the pizzas. We were too full for dessert because the pizza is definitely filling. The hype of the other customers when watching the game is great and I love how involved the workers are with the game as well! Hands down one of the best BP locations that I have been to, and believe me, I've been to many locations and majority of them were not great! I've tried many items on the menu, and each time I order food/dessert at this location, it's made so well and tastes amazing! I personally love the pizza, pasta and tacos here. For dessert, the panookie is the way to go. It's probably the best dessert on the menu. The service is pretty good at this location as well. The servers are usually really helpful and attentive. Summary: Boston Pizza's Viva Italia is in my top 3 for top quality pizza in Markham, chain or non-chain, and probably THE tastiest meal I've gotten from a chain restaurant. At normal price ($13.79), it's not great value... But man, when they have promotions, I am THERE. Hello HIGH FIVE days!!! You clicked for a review; but I should warn you, this review will read like a story. Back in the day, Boston Pizza used to be my pasta spot. It's the home of Pasta Tuesdays (half price used to be close to $8!), where I spent much of my high school savings on the delightful savouriness of the MAMA MEATA penne. This beautiful dish of epic goodness was this delicious blend of every single kind of meat they had in VERY ample portions. Sausage. Pepperoni. Beef. Bacon. Ham. Chicken ...EVERY BITE, my taste buds would count their blessings. You know how sometimes you have to ration the meat in a meal, to make it last to the end? I swear to you, this was the opposite: the meat was everywhere. Every bite, with every lovely piece of penne, the protein would complement and complete. It leaned heavy on the salty side. But teenage me didn't care. It was the best value in the area on those lovely Tuesdays, with outstanding protein to carb ratio, and satisfied even the growing teenager version of me (which is a MONUMENTAL feat). Unfortunately, this legendary dish was pulled from the menu just before the turn of the decade as the chain became more health-conscious (they removed all or most products with trans fat from their menu, I think - they still have deals on pasta on Tuesdays, but the selection has evolved). The great news was that a certain amount of charm, persuasion and enthusiasm helped some servers allow me order it off the menu in the immediate months following its removal... but alas, over time, the chefs changed, the servers changed, and the art of the Mama Meata Penne was lost. Although the restaurant is called Boston Pizza, to me, it was really Boston Pasta Tuesdays. Tuesdays were never the same after that. (Also the "Boston" thing didn't resonate with me since the Bruins kept crushing the Leafs in those dark hockey times.) Fast forward a decade. Not only are the Leafs way better now, but I happened to come across a very good deal: $5 for an individual pizza at Boston Pizza. It resonated. All those years, I had never given the pizza a chance - it had always been the pasta place to me. LIFE WAS GOING TO CHANGE TODAY. I mentally sent a "I gotchu" message to my younger self, and proceeded to make plans. THE EXPERIENCE Clean, friendly, and fairly typical of most chains, but you could tell the staff cared and were well-trained. My friend and I were greeted and immediately seated. Server had great rapport with us and we launched into our pizza adventure. I got two MEATEOR pizzas. Because I had hopes and dreams of the memories it could bring. Oh Mama Meata, how it called me. The pizza came. It had sausage. It had pepperoni. It had ham. My mouth watered. I reached. I grabbed. I bit. ...and nothing. The feelings didn't stir. It was good, yes, but not mind blowing, not revolutionary. Were my expectations too high? I was determined. I looked at the menu, and chose another option: the bacon double cheeseburger pizza. This had to be the one, right? (Well, two, since I ordered two of them.) And again I waited. And again it came. And again... It was good - but not what I yearned for. But I wasn't done yet. I made the choice to get just one more pizza. Maybe something not as outwardly meaty. Protein wasn't always king. Viva Italia. I made the order. The order arrived. I took a bite, and the world started spinning. Was it arrabbiata sauce, with the slight pesto drizzle contrasting to what I had before? Was it the peppers giving the salami the nuance it needed to stand out? The goat cheese? And oh yes, the chopped bacon, and yes, spicy Italian sausage... Viva Italia was Viva Boston Pizza. I've had the pastas and desserts which are a lot better, but still wouldn't be my go to. There's not a lot of things on the menu except pastas, burgers and pizza. It's a great place to get a beer with your friends over the weekend (or a green beer for St Patties!). During game nights it does get crowded and loud. not satisfied with my experience here from my recent visit . came for a snack and got a small pizza with 8 pieces that was $18 and we chose to get the one with ground beef, sausage and pepperoni. first thing I noticed was that the service here is really slow. we were ready to order and weren't approached for at least 15 min which is quite a long time. the pizza came at a reasonable time and it was smaller than I expected for the price. On top of that the waiters gave no side plates for us with the pizza where typically it would not need to be asked for and should be given at the same time. the pepperoni was overly salty but the whole pizza was really greasy and salty in general. the pizza plate had a lot of oil left over after we were done. honestly would rather get an xl from pizza nova for cheaper. on top of that took a long time to get the bill after we were ready. it was around 15 minutes which is way too long. it wasn't busy that day at all so I was wondering what was taking so long. overall I would not recommend to come to this location I have gone to other locations before where the service is better and perhaps just this pizza type was not as good as usual read more

The quality of food is also much better (fresh), and the portions are larger! A great thing about this place is that almost everything on their menu containing chicken can be ordered halal. Came for pasta Tuesday deal. The dining room was still relatively quiet at 630pm. We were greeted immediately when we entered and seated right away. Their gourmet pasta is $12.99 on Tuesdays, so my BFF and I both got the jambalaya which normally goes for $18.99. It's a very generous portion you get too. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had enough sauce and meat ratio. I asked for extra spicy for mine and it didn't disappoint. It was a nice kick! We also tried their new pizza poutine as an appetizer ($11.99). It was served in a large bowl topped with lots of pepperoni and melted mozerella cheese. There was also tomato sauce mixed with some gravy? It was good but definitely could have used a little more sauce. Haven't been to this location in years. Thankfully this is close to home, and as a surprise, it was not busy during dinner time on a Monday evening. Finding a seat was not an issue, so we took advantage of the bar booths available. The place was quiet, clean, and presentable. OUr server, who was lovely and very personable advised us of their daily specials. Both my buddy and I caught up over a pitcher of Rickards red, and for grub, we chose to have wings. What can I say? Servers can't tell a real driver's licence from a fake one. Refused service for my daughter who is of legal age to drink and bluntly embrassed her by telling her the ID was fake. She tried to show that the birthdate on her government Health Card was the same (She knows a health card's can't be used as ID). Eventually, the server spoke to a manager and offered to serve, but without compensation for the embarrasment. A free dessert, discount. They need to be smart serve certified to understand how to determine real ID from fake. Maybe, asking for another piece of ID as well to confirm the legitimacy of the birthdate. So I came here with a friend to watch Game 4 of the NBA finals. We arrived right around the start of the game and there were still a lot of seating available. It's a fairly new establishment so maybe not many people know about it yet? People did slowly come in to occupy tables but it never really got that full. The server we had, whom I will not name because I don't know if this review will help or hurt him, was friendly and sociable. My friend had ordered a serving of honey garlic chicken wings. We didn't find out until later on while just looking at the daily deals that there was a deal on wings on Wednesdays. She brought it up with the server and asked if the deal applied and he to think about what day it actually was before saying yes, and he would go make sure the wings were discounted to the deal price which was $7.99. People make mistakes and I, for one, am prone to losing track of days as well so I don't hold anything against him for that. But so that he doesn't screw up in the future or lose money for the business, he should probably be more on top of that. Otherwise, he was doing everything else right. Was pleasant, came by to refill our drinks often and made sure we were okay. Did a good job building rapport too, using basketball (of course) to create some common ground. Anyways onto the food. Like I mentioned above, my friend ordered a serving of wings while i ordered the pizza pocket burger thing lol. I don't remember what it's actually called but I will attach a picture to this review. Honey garlic wings were what you'd expect. I'd usually never order them myself because I find it a boring flavour. But if you like honey garlic, I'm almost certain you'd like them here. The burger pizza pocket thing was pretty good. I certainly like the concept. I ordered mine with a side of fries and i regret not getting a salad. Or at least get a side with vegetables and not potatoes because with all the meat and everything, it's a pretty heavy entree. I'm not sure if I'm a slow eater or not, but the cheese did not stay hot and melted for long enough. Maybe serving the meal and a heated plate would help with that because it would definitely help with making the second half of the pizza pocket more enjoyable. Since it's cut in half, while you're eating the first half, the second half is left open and cools down pretty quick. Anyway, I had a much better experience at this Boston Pizza than at the Warden and Steeles location.
